This whole story was inspired by @rueleaf_art on Instagram, Twitter (X) and Tumblr!
I would like to thank her for allowing me to write about this adorable AU that I never thought I would write about until I saw her Xiaoaether/Xiaother fanarts! Go check her art on her socials if you are interested in Xiaoaether/Xiaother ship, the dragon prince and RWBY fanarts!
I do want to put out a disclaimer that the worldbuilding of this story is different to Genshin’s worldbuilding so I apologise if some info doesn’t seem right!
Due to the worldbuilding in Tangled AU, where the worldbuilding centres around only one kingdom, it was difficult to implement the seven nations of Teyvat as I really want to add some other characters into this story. So what I try to do is to follow the Tangled AU worldbuilding to some extent, where there is only one kingdom, except maybe one or two nations will be added. You’ll understand what I mean with the other nation in some future chapter.
For the Mother Gothel in this story, I decided to use Genshin's NPC character named Chlothar in respect to @rueleaf_art’s idea, and I agree with the choice since Chlothar in the Dainsleif quest was very… deranged… up to the point where he was as insane as Gothel herself.
Also for Aether and Lumine’s parents, their appearances and characteristics are inspired by one of my favourite artists called @ihaveanidia on Instagram, their drawings of the twin’s parents are so pretty, go check her out too! (it also makes things easier for me to imagine what they look like aha)
