Work Text:
Steve rushes through the maternity ward doors in an absolute panic, running up to the nurses station and slamming his hands down on the counter. “Robin Buckley. I need to know what room Robin Buckley is in.”
The nurse behind the counter looks up at him with an annoyed glare. “Please take a seat, Sir. We’ll be with you in a moment.”
Steve shakes his head, panic rising in his throat as he taps his hand on the counter again. “No, I can't sit down. I need you to tell me where Robin is. Please. ”
The nurse sighs, her eyes softening as she takes in his frantic appearance. She types quickly on her computer, the click clack of the keys making Steve clench his jaw. “Room four, just down the hall to the right.”
Steve mutters out a thank you before rushing off down the hall and skidding to a halt in front of room four and bursting through the door, eyes landing on Robin’s pinched, sweaty face, and lurching forward to grab her hand. “Hey, babe. I’m here–” He leans his forehead against Robin’s. “I’m sorry I’m late. I came as soon as I got Eddie’s message.” His eyes flick over to a very uncomfortable, clearly terrified Eddie in the corner and flashes him a huge grin. “Hey, baby.”
Eddie shakes his head. “I have seen things I can never unsee because of you, Steven. I was supposed to be in the waiting room for this part.”
Steve rolls his eyes and Robin huffs out a laugh. “He walked in while the doctor was checking me. I think he’s scarred for life.”
