Work Text:

“Are you ready to go, amor?”

Enid walked out in a stunning lavender dress that reached the top of her knees, making Wednesday's face bloom a deep red on her tan face.

“Yeah! Do you think this dress looks nice on me? I know it’s like super expensive, but like I don’t know if it looks good on me you k–”

“You look– You look incredible, Enid,” Wednesday said, stumbling over her words as she stared at the masterpiece before her.

“Aw, thanks, Willa! You’re looking quite handsome yourself,” Enid replied, looking at her fiancée up and down.

“Th–” Wednesday was about to say until she was interrupted by the sound of gagging.

“Gross! Get a room!” Yelled Mallory, the couple’s oldest twin, “Why are we going anyways? I don’t want to go to your old school! I already go to school and it’s torture and not the good kind!” the girl complained, crossing her arms.

Next to her was her brother, Harlan, who was visibly irritated by his sister’s obnoxiousness, “I can’t believe we’re related. Also, we’re going because Tío Pugsley is out of town, basically the whole family is busy, and all of our babysitters quit.”

“Percisely, Harlan. Either way, all three of you will be going when you’re of age,” Wednesday said to her daughter.

They all heard Mallory groan before she chewed on her mango popsicle.

“Hello, Miss Addams, Miss Sinclair,” said a voice behind the family.

They turned around, knowing exactly who it was.

“Hey, Principal Weems! How are you?” Enid said, waving nicely at their former principal.

Before the tall blonde could say anything, Harlan ran towards Enid, hiding behind her with Mallory running to them.

“C’mon, Har! It’s just a bee!” Mallory exclaimed with a bee between her fingers.

“Put the bee down, Mallory,” Wednesday said, pinching the bridge of her nose.

“And who would these two be?” Weems asked with interest.

Enid let out a small laugh, “They’re our twins.”

“Wow! You two have two kids already?” Weems asked with a chuckle.

“Three actually. Speaking of which, where is Wrenley?” Wednesday replied.

“She’s with Aunt Yoko,” Harlan replied, leaving the comfort of his mother after Mallory released the bee from her grasp.

Wednesday nodded in response.

“Anyways, how have you been? It’s been a while!” Enid asked Weems.

“Oh, everything’s lovely! However, I must say, it’s not as enjoyable as when you two were here,” Weems replied, whispering the last part so the current students wouldn’t hear, “It was nice talking to you both again, but I must make sure there isn’t anything happening.”

Enid laughed and nodded, waving goodbye to the taller woman, “G’bye, Principal Weems! See you later.”

The two women walked toward their friend group, waving at one another, their kids running to greet them all.

“Hey guys! Long time no see, huh?” Enid said, hugging them.

“Yeah, the little ones have gotten so big too!” Bianca commented.

“Never call me that again or I’ll tear your head off,” Harlan spat.

The group chuckled, seeing how similar the boy was to his mother.

“What’s that… thing in the middle of the pentagon?” Wednesday asked, unsure of what it was since she entered the campus.

“No clue. Weems said she’s gonna reveal it in a bit,” Ajax replied.

Enid turned around to look at it, “Hm. It’s pretty big. Must be a statue of some sort, that’s what my guess is.”

“Yeah, I can see something peaking out. Not sure what it is though,” Yoko commented about the spike showing through the cloth.

Before any of them could say anything, Weems started talking from her podium, “Everyone, everyone! Former and current students, welcome back to Nevermore. I am so glad to see so many familiar faces again. We’re gathered here to celebrate our former students. They graduated from the academy a decade ago, and are now adults that contribute well to our society, well, most of them. However, you all must be wondering what the covered structure is, and yes, it’s a statue. We’ve worked together to create something for a special person who helped our school during a great time of need.

“Ten years ago, this student, whom we all remember dearly, attended this school. As you all know, there was a tragic event that occurred many years ago where many lives were in danger. I, for one, am extremely grateful everyone remained safe throughout the whole tragedy, almost everyone remained safe,” she said, looking at the couple, “Specifically, we’ve made a monument to celebrate the one and only, Wednesday Friday Addams, who saved this school from an outcast hating pilgrim that was resurrected by Laurel Gates!”

With that, everyone around them cheered as the cloth covering the golden statue of Wednesday aiming her sword was revealed that stood atop an obsidian pedestal.

“Oh my god! Did you know about this, Nes?!” Enid said with a smile.

“I was never informed about this and I wasn’t interested. I’m still not,” Wednesday replied as she glared at everyone around her.

“Look mama, it’s you!” Mallory said, pointing at her statue.

“It is indeed.”

As she looked back up at the stage, she saw Weems signaling to her to come up to the podium, which she signed and began to walk toward the small staircase that led to the stage.

When she got to the podium, Weems stepped aside so she could make a speech.

She cleared her throat before she began, “First off, I would like to say that rescuing the whole academy was not a solo act. If it weren’t for the remarkable Enid Sinclair and… our friends, I would not have been able to do what I had done. I was also technically the reason the school went up in flames, but I’m not going to say anything. However, I appreciate the statue even though it’s weird being stared at by a statue of my sixteen-year-old self.”

As she was about to continue her speech, a small voice came from below her, “Mama, I’m hungry.”

When the audience noticed the small voice, they burst out into awe.

“You should’ve eaten before we got here, Wren,” Wednesday said softly, picking the girl up.

When the girl was in her arms, she walked back down the stage, giving Wrenley a pack of fruit gummies on the way.

“You know they serve food here right?” Wednesday asked.

“It’s yucky.”
