Here for you

Summary:

It is no secret that Alhaitham and kaveh are friends. And their friends know that they are close. Very close.

So it was not a surprise when Alhaitham acted too concerned when Kaveh moved out, and then returned barely a month later in poor health, with a suspiciously growing belly.

While Alhaitham worried on what to do to make sure that Kaveh was in a safe disposition, Kaveh on the other hand is scared out of his mind wondering how long he'll have a roof over his head.

Notes:

Please bear with my uncreative attempt at storytelling. I haven't written a proper fic since about 4 years ago.

Chapter Text

Alhaitham put on his earpieces to block out the noise. Outside, the storm was raging, and the sound of thunder and rain against the roof are the only things that can be heard. Lightning flashed every now and then.

It felt weird, not having his noisy senior in the house. Because he is no longer in the house.

It was a long story, one that Alhaitham somehow could not stop from repeating from his head.

As their close circle of friends know, including the Traveler and Paimon, Kaveh lives with Alhaitham. The reason behind is another long story, which Alhaitham doesn't revisit too often. In the long time that Kaveh's moving out was postponed, the two of them grew too comfortable with each other, to the point of intimacy.

Friends with benefits, as people would call it.

And it was a good thing for the both of them. Given their dynamics, they are heavily dependent on suppressants. But they do acknowledge as well that sex serves other purposes than reproduction and satiating their dynamics' urges. So in occasion, they find themselves in the arms of each other in either one of their bedrooms, waking up in the morning entangled in sheets and each other's limbs.

Alhaitham would be lying if he said he did not miss the golden-haired fellow. Although he does not express it, he likes to hear when Kaveh laughs, or nags him for the smallest things. He is actually glad to have someone who reminds him of things that he forgets due to how busy he is at work. Besides the extra hands to do the house chores, Kaveh genuinely lightens Alhaitham's mood.

And the scribe doesn't know why.

A loud boom of the thunder, and something else. Alhaitham heard the noise despite having his earpieces on. Something like a knock on the door, or something colliding against it. Maybe a tree branch that got flown away?

He closed his eyes. He will take care of it tomorrow.

But as he tried to sleep, there it was again. And this time, it bothered him. So he got up to check what was going on.If it was a monster...

Alhaitham took his sword with him, and headed to the front door. Once there he paused a moment, the knock growing louder by the second. He readied his sword, and swung the door open, aiming for a backhand slash.

His eyes widened at the sight of the late-night visitor. Golden hair was matted to his forehead, shirt soaked wet, and shivering in the cold.

It was...

"Kaveh?" Alhaitham lowered his sword hastily, almost apologetic that he nearly attacked his dear friend. "What are you doing here at this hour?" He asked as a gust of wind blew. The cold sent shivers to both of them, prompting the house owner to pull his guest in and shove the door shut.

"I--" Kaveh began, his pale, almost blue lips quivering. "Can I stay the night?"

"You can stay here as long as you want. I'll go get a towel." Alhaitham moved, urgency now sinking in to his consciousness. Kaveh must be freezing, especially more so as he is an omega. He went straight to his room, and searched for the newest towel he possessed. He found a white one, still thick and fluffy. He returned to the front door where Kaveh stood motionless, a pool of rainwater at his feet.

"Kaveh," Alhaitham called, drawing the blonde's attention. His eyes were wide like saucers, as if scared. On guard.

"Y-yes?" he squeaked.

Alhaitham could not take it. He wrapped the other in the towel, and in his arms. "I'm glad you're back," he half-whispered, doubting that Kaveh heard him in the midst of the chaos outside.

But Kaveh heard. And he was relieved, and beyond happy.

"Thank you."

Kaveh was warm in Alhaitham's embrace, and Alhaitham murmured comforting words to calm him. They stayed like that for some time.
