Work Text:

In the mountains, Far away from the city, stood Blue Lock, this super intense facility where wannabe soccer stars battled it out to be the top strikers worldwide. Ego Jinpachi was the big boss there, watching over everything.

In it lived Isagi Yoichi, a young man with a heart heavy with burdens hidden beneath a facade of cheery smiles. Isagi, with his infectious laughter and friendly demeanor, was the life of every meal, every gathering. His easygoing nature made him a beloved figure among most of his peers and teammates, especially on the soccer field where his passion and talent shone bright.

In the Neo Egoist League, Isagi found himself playing for this team called Bastard Munchen.

Talk about the pressure! What was he thinking? He was trying to prove himself while keeping up with the expectations, especially those from his idol, Neol Noa, the top striker. Isagi looked up to Noa big time, even calling him "master" and all, but dang, it was tough trying to match his level.

But here's the thing – Isagi felt like he was always coming up short. No matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't seem to keep pace with Noa's skills. It was like there was this constant shadow of doubt hanging over him, making him feel like he wasn't good enough.

Behind the mask of happiness, Isagi battled a relentless darkness, a deep-seated depression that gnawed at his soul. Each day was a struggle, and it was relentless within his own mind, leaving him feeling isolated and alone even in a crowd.

To make matters worse, Isagi's buddy, Bachira Meguru was on a different team. They used to be super tight, bonding over their love for soccer. But now, they hardly hung out because, well, Bachira was busy doing his thing with his team.

Isagi really wanted to open up to Bachira about what he was going through, but he held back. He didn't want to be a downer or put his friend in a tough spot. So, he kept his struggles to himself, putting on a brave face even though he felt like he was crumbling inside.

As he chased after his dream of competing on the national level, Isagi poured all of himself into soccer, seeking happiness in the game he loved. On the field, it was like a constant battle, each match feeling like life or death.
But even in the midst of all the chaos, Isagi held onto this tiny glimmer of hope. He believed that one day, he'd break free from the darkness that was holding him back from true success.

But as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, the facade began to crack. Isagi's smiles grew strained, his laughter hollow. Behind closed doors, he would collapse into himself, suffocating beneath the weight of his own thoughts.

In the quiet of his room, when the world seemed to shrink to just him and his thoughts, Isagi sometimes found himself wrestling with a dark urge. It was like this itch he couldn't scratch, this pain he couldn't shake.

With shaky hands, he'd reach for the blade he kept hidden away, a last resort when the weight of everything felt like too much. Each cut was a silent plea for relief, a desperate attempt to dull the ache inside.

But even as he watched the blood well up, Isagi knew deep down that this wasn't the answer. He knew he was only adding more scars to the ones he carried inside, scars that would never truly fade.

Afterward, he'd bandage himself up, hiding the evidence of his pain from the world. It was his secret battle, one he fought alone in the darkness of his room. And though he longed for a way out, he held onto a sliver of hope that maybe, just maybe, one day things would get better.

It didnt.

Isagi started to become bad at soccer. Every pass he made went wide, every shot missed the mark, and he couldn't keep up with his teammates to save his life. It was like he was stuck in this endless loop of screwing up, and it was eating him alive.

As practice dragged on, Isagi's frustration hit a boiling point. He felt like he was letting everyone down – his teammates, his coach, himself. And as much as he tried to shake it off, the weight of it all just kept dragging him down.

By the time practice wrapped up, Isagi was on the verge of a breakdown. He bolted from the field, barely holding back tears as he made a beeline for the locker room.

Alone in the quiet of the locker room, Isagi's hands shook as he rummaged through his bag, fingers closing around the bottle of pills he kept hidden away for emergencies. And in that moment, it felt like the only way out.

With a trembling hand, he popped the cap and swallowed a handful of pills, desperation clouding his thoughts as he waited for the numbness to set in.

But even as the darkness closed in around him, Isagi couldn't shake the feeling of regret gnawing at his insides. It was like this sinking realization of what he was about to do, and part of him wished he could turn back time.

But it was too late for second chances. As the pills took hold and the world began to blur, Isagi's last thoughts were of the life he was leaving behind, of the dreams he'd never get to see through.

In the end, as the darkness claimed him, Isagi clung to a sliver of hope. Maybe, just maybe, things could have been different if he'd held on a little longer. But now, all he could do was slip away into the void, leaving behind a world that would never be the same.

As Isagi's vision blurred and his consciousness began to slip away, he heard a voice calling out to him from a distance. It was like trying to wake up from a really deep nap, with someone nudging you to get up.

He felt someone shaking him gently, their hands warm against his skin. It was like they were trying to bring him back from wherever he was drifting off to.

With a struggle, Isagi managed to crack open his eyes, squinting against the sudden brightness of the room. He saw a blurry figure kneeling beside him, their features swimming in and out of focus.

"Isagi, come on, man, wake up!" the voice urged, filled with a mix of worry and urgency.

Isagi tried to respond, to tell them he was okay, but his words came out as a hoarse whisper, barely audible over the pounding of his heart.

The person beside him reached out, their touch gentle as they brushed a hand against his cheek. It was a silent reassurance, a reminder that he wasn't alone in whatever mess he'd gotten himself into.

And in that moment, as the world spun around him and the darkness threatened to swallow him whole, Isagi clung to the hope that maybe, just maybe, there was still a way back from the edge.
