Welcome to Demon School, (Y/N)-chan!

Chapter 1: (Y/N)-chan and Iruma-kun from Demon School

Chapter Text

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Somewhere on the sea, a tuna boat is sailing through stormy weather.
A worker yelled to you and your brother Iruma: "Iruma! (Y/N)! I'm leaving this to you! Don't let it fall apart! If it falls apart, I'm docking half your pay!"
Suzuki Iruma and (Y/N), fourteen years old. You both are being forced to work on a tuna fishing boat. To put it simply, your parents are scumbags who refuse to work, so you two have to work instead.
Iruma pushes a tuna back into a cage. "We won't be able to get by with only half our pay!"
"To be honest, Iruma-onii-chan: Our pay is a joke! Why are we supposed to work?! Oh, right! Because our parents are SO irresponsible!"
You pant as you drag two tunas to their cages. "And what kind of a tuna boat stores frozen tunas in cages?! Seriously!"
Suddenly, several cage doors open and the tunas are falling down on you and Iruma. You two were able to dodge them all, but one moment of carelessness and a single tuna was about to crash on both of your heads.
However, the impact never occurred. "Huh?", you two uttered. It's as if the tunas are suspended in the air. What is happening?
Like this wasn't bizarre enough, you and Iruma are somehow transported into a dimension, where you are tied up and you came face to face with an old man with horns growing from each side of his head. He makes a small hand movement and a slip of paper is pinned on both of you, which says "Sold". And then, you, Iruma and the man disappear from the boat.
You are now taken to a world, you've never seen before. Iruma timidly asked: "W-Where are we? W-Who are you?" The man responded in an unknown language until he snaps his fingers.
"I made it so you two can understand the demon language. Suzuki Iruma and (Y/N), this is the netherworld."
"Netherworld?"
"It's the realm of demons."
This man is a demon and his name is Sullivan. He informed you two, that your parents sold your souls to him.
"Our parents sold our souls to a demon? They would never-"
"Onii-chan..."
You sport a blank expression. "They totally would." Now Iruma has a sullen expression on his face. "Yes, they would..." An imposing castle is coming to view.
"What's that?"
"That is my mansion."
"W-What are you going to do with us?!"
The situation is becoming more and more dire. You desperately try to calm down your screaming brother, but you would lie if you aren't scared a little bit. Well... It turns out... Nothing terrible happened. In fact...
You and Iruma are seated in a throne-like chair, wearing a bib around your necks and Sullivan is positioned in front of you two, holding both of your and Iruma's hand and asked: "Won't you two be my grandchildren?"
"Huh?", you and Iruma said in unison.
"You see, I've been single all this time. It's always been my dream to have grandchildren! I've been so jealous of Levy and Belial bragging about their grandkids! I'll buy you two anything you want and I'll spoil you to death! So please? Please? You'll be my grandchildren, right?"
"B-But we were sold to you, right?", asked Iruma and you added: "Do we even have the right to decline?"
"I'll respect your wishes. You can say "no" if you really want to!"
Oh no. You stare at your brother and sweatdrop. You know, he can't exactly refuse anyone. Indeed. He's a complete pushover. Whenever he's asked to do something... And even when he isn't asked at all... Even in ridiculous situations... He will accept anything and can't decline. He's especially like this with you, his beloved sister. Ask him a favor and he will do it for you in a heartbeat.
But you are a kind and supporting sister, so instead of troubling him with favors you can do yourself, you rather help him out whenever you can. After all... He's all you've got and you love him more than anything else. You crossed out your parents from the list of people you care about long ago.
"But, I mean... This situation is pretty insane! Most people would say "no", right?", whispered Iruma to you.
"Technically yes..."
"I-If it's okay for us to say no..." He faces Sullivan. "U-Uhm, we-"
"However!" Sullivan clings to you and Iruma. "That's exactly why I'm putting all I have into this request! I beg of you! Think of it as helping out a dying old man, Iruma and (Y/N)! Please!"
There it is. Words that Iruma stands no chance against are... 1. "Please", 2. "Help", 3. "I beg of you."
Since Iruma is literally forced to sign a contract, you had no choice but to do the same thing. Your brother...seriously needs more willpower.
"Well, now that that's settled..." Sullivan snaps and the room transforms into a bedroom. This will be Iruma's room. He snaps again and you and your brother are wearing school uniforms.
"You two look so perfect! And adorable! I'm going to enroll you in a demon school."
"A demon school?"
"You were forced to start working at a young age because of your parents and didn't really get to go to school, right? But have no fear! All the paperwork's been taken care of! I am your grandpa, after all!"
"Grandpa...?", you muttered and Sullivan definitely heard you, because he shivered in delight and said: "That sounds so wonderful! "Grandpa"! Let's take a picture together on your first day!"
He informed you two, that there's never been a human enrolled in this demon school. But you won't be eaten as long as they don't find out you're human.
You twitch your eyes. "Did I hear right...? They will eat us if they find out...?" Iruma reacted more intensly, but his panic is ceased down, when Sullivan doused you and him with perfume.
"Thanks to this perfume, you don't smell like a human anymore, so don't worry. I'm so relieved you two are such good kids. If you had declined... I'd have no choice but to have you for dinner tonight."
How scary... Anyway, your demon "grandfather" ushered you outside and leads you to a room right next to Iruma's.
He snaps once again and your bedroom looks the same as your brother's, only the color scheme consist of black-pink and somehow looks...frillier.
"You and Iruma have to get up early tomorrow for your first day. Make sure you get plenty of sleep. Goodnight."
"Uhm, hey-"
The door to your room closes before you could question him. Sullivan happily walks down the hallway. A burgundy-haired demon stands in his way and said: "You take your whims too far."
"Opera."
"You could've adopted all the demons you wanted. Why would you bother adopting these humans as your grandchildren? What were you thinking?"
"Nothing, really. You'll understand someday, Opera. I'm so excited for tomorrow!"
Iruma told himself, that maybe all of this is a dream. But when he woke up in the morning and sees Sullivan with you in tow entering his bedroom, he's immediately convinced that this is the harsh reality.
"Iruma-kun! Good morning!", greeted Sullivan. "Morning, Onii-chan...", you mumbled and yawn. You look a little sleep-deprived, but in this situation, no one will blame you.
After some preparations, it's finally time to go to the demon school. Sullivan is quite peppy today.
"Oh, I'm so happy! My grandchildren's first day of school! Picture time! Iruma-kun, (Y/N)-chan, stand right next to that."
He means a sign, which you and Iruma can't read, but that's quicky solved by Sullivan's spell. It says: "Entrance Ceremony". You and Iruma make awkward peace signs, while your grandpa is forming a "6" with his fingers. Once the picture is taken, he hops around in joy.
"Oh, I'm so happy! My grandchildren's first day of school! Their first little bag! So innocent! So pure!"
Your group walks towards the school. The name of the school is..."Babyls". You widen your eyes at the sight of a flock of demons flying to the school. It was a...scary and impressive sight.
Sullivan has something to do so he and Opera take their leave. You and Iruma nervously walk past four demons.
"Hey, you two."
You both tensed up.
"The auditorium is that way."
Thank goodness! They didn't figure out that you are humans. The auditorium is full of demons. That doesn't make it better that you and your brother are sitting among them.
"Hey, doesn't something smell really good?"
"Eeeep! Don't stand out... Don't stand out!"
You gently nudge Iruma and show him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry too much. I'm with you so everything's fine. I'll protect you!" You sure know how to elicit a smile from him.
A demon steps up, probably a teacher, and announces: "Thank you for waiting. It is 6:06 AM. We will now formally begin the entrance ceremony for the demon school Babyls. All rise! It's time to sing the school song."
It's hard to listen to the school song without wanting to run away in fear. It's literally about humans being food for the demons. The song depicts how superior demons are compared to humans and you hated it. You silently grit your teeth in irritation, while Iruma doesn't even dare to make a sound in order to not stand out.
"Next, a greeting from our director."
"Yeah! Our future Demon King!"
"The Demon King? Like... The king of the demons?" You confirmed Iruma's question with a nod. And then... A familiar voice ring out.
"Iruma-kun! (Y/N)-chan! It's me! Grandpa!"
Yep, Sullivan is the director.
"Iruma? (Y/N)?"
"The director's grandchildren?"
"Yes, indeed! My grandchildren now go to this school! They are just so adorable!"
At this point, you and Iruma wanted to straight-out disappear. Your and his thoughts: "Please don't say anything weird!"
"And this is the photo that I just took..." He puts the photo up for everyone to see. "With my grandchildren!"
Well, damn. Your cover is blown.
"Okay, that's all I had to say, so... Bye!" He's gone and made things worse for you and your brother. What a "wonderful" grandfather...
"Next, we have a greeting from the representative of the new students. The representative of the new students, Asmodeus-kun."
When you saw this pink-haired demon walk to the stage, you admit, that he's attractive, but no one is more important to you than your brother. Therefore, you're not fawning over him like some demon girls. Everyone's attention is shifting to him, until...
"Huh? What? Giving the greeting in his place are... The honor students, Iruma and (Y/N)."
"Why, though?!", you inwardly yelled. You spot Sullivan sneakily showing you a thumbs-up. "Ah... It's his doing..."
You pat Iruma's shoulder and whisper: "Let's go, Onii-chan. We'll be marked off as suspicious if we don't do this." He sighs in defeat and follows you to the stage.
Now... How should you give them a sufficient greeting speech? Looks like, Sullivan is nonetheless very helpful, because a sheet of paper, written by him, flaps down on the podium.
All you and Iruma have to do is read the text below his message.
"Let's simultaneously read the text, Iruma, okay?"
"O-Okay..."
So you two begin.
"Aberuhauke... Tarutoudari... Iusabebe... Risutouru... Aburuze... Sutoumanu... Aberuge... Uru... Mahoraba... Tsurezaza."
Everyone's shocked after the speech, but shortly after, the other students are shouting in excitement. Confusion is present in both of you and Iruma.
"Hey, you two! You can't just go chanting forbidden spells like that! They're taboo! If you were to stutter or read it wrong, your bodies could've exploded! That's common sense!"
How should you know?! That's the first time you've heard of this!
"That was so dangerous and crazy...and totally awesome!"
"Wha?!"
"Only a complete idiot would say that spell, or a demon who doesn't know better or isn't scared of dying."
Iruma asked the teacher, what exactly the spell does.
"If it actually works, you won't trip and fall for the whole day!"
That's it? In other words, you and Iruma risked your lives reading the spell and this is the effect? So worth it...
Together, you and Iruma walk down the stage and Asmodeus immediately confronts you two.
"My name is Asmodeus Alice."
Iruma nervously greeted him, but you just shoot him a suspicious look. What happens next...is unbelievable. He actually challenged you two to a duel in the courtyard. Every student is watching. It was unnerving, especially for your poor brother.
"A-Are we...going to be eaten?"
"I was supposed to give that greeting. The punishment for stealing that spotlight from me is death! And since you two stole that spotlight from me, I have the right to see if you are truly worthy of it! Don't you think? First, I'll deal with you, boy, afterwards, I'll exterminate your sibling! Yes, I won't hold back even if my opponent is a woman!"
"Now, prove to me that you are superior to me...with your body!" He's constantly firing fire balls at Iruma, but he can't seem to hit him.
After twenty minutes, Iruma and Asmodeus are visibly exhausted.
"Why can't I hit you?!"
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!"
You've been watching from the sidelines and you are extremely glad, that Iruma is unharmed. But... Why was such a feat possible? It's because he's unfortunate. After being put through endless hell by your brainless parents, he became a master of dodging anything dangerous, scary, or painful. His attack points may be zero, but his defense is infinite.
This power... If we were to give it a name, it'd be "Overwhelming Crisis Evasion Capability".
The demon students are impressed by Iruma's dodging and they somehow falsely assumed, that Asmodeus is not worth his time. The pink-haired demon is getting angrier.
"Are you saying... I'm not even worth attacking?"
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no! I'm nothing more than an insignificant bug!"
Again, the students falsely assumed him, saying that Asmodeus is less than a bug. "Are they stupid...?", you thought and glare at the crowd.
"I will not abide such insults!" Asmodeus creates a sword made of fire with magic. "If magic won't work, I'll take you down using martial arts!"
He charges towards Iruma. "I'll tear you apart!" His attempt to slice up your brother didn't work out either, because he can use his opponent's strength to parry their attacks.
Another part of his "Overwhelming Crisis Evasion Capability". Asmodeus keeps charging forward and was about to stab a demon girl. You quickly slide between them and uppercut him.
The blow you delivered did the trick. Asmodeus roughly lands on his back, but slowly stands back up. He rubs his sore chin and glares daggers at you.
"You're...strong for a girl... But don't think I-" You didn't let him finish his sentence and one flying kick from you makes him kiss the ground again.
This time, he struggles to get up. "How... How are you so strong?!" That is easily explained.
Iruma has zero attack points, but infinite defense. You're the opposite. Your attack is off the roof with a very minimal defense. Your strength is similar to a World Champion boxer, Karate master etc. combined.
Since you like to fight your opponents hand-to-hand, you usually neglect your cover and therefore, vulnerable to sneak attacks. This is where Iruma comes in.
He warns you from incoming attacks from your blind spots and you effectively dodge them. See, this is why Iruma is so important to you. You can rely on him in a battle and as a thanks, you protect him with your life. Iruma is glad to have a reliable sister, who protects him, even though he worries about you a lot.
You may have little defense, but you did make quick progress with a Yakuza group and even fight off a bear. You're fighting such dangerous individuals to ensure your brother's safety. To see him smiling the next day...is your biggest reward and you wouldn't want it any other way.
"I'm not done with you, Asmodeus!", you huffed and faster than lightning, you sneak behind him and grab ahold of his waist.
"No one picks a fight with my Onii-chan and gets away with it!!!"
Everyone is gaping at this scene. No wonder. You just suplexed him. A perfect German suplex! Iruma flails his arms and yelled: "W-What did you do, (Y/N)?!"
You ignore the students cheers and pout. "What? He deserved it!" The school made a big deal out of it, because they printed a picture of you suplexing Asmodeus in the school's newspaper.
You gave him...a concussion. That's what the newspaper says. Iruma's dodging feat was impressive, but right now, you gained the entire attention from the demon students.
"(Y/N)'s awesome!"
"The honor students are insane!"
"I heard she saved a girl!"
Inside Sullivan's office, he's wholeheartedly praising you and Iruma. "I'd expect nothing less from my grandchildren. You have a bright future ahead! You two are so adorable! I just can't! You're too adorable!"
Iruma is having a panic attack. "What should we do? We did something awful! We have to apologize!" You cross your arms and look away.
"I'm not apologizing to Alice in Wonderland! Like I said before: He deserved it!"
Speaking of him, Asmodeus slams the door open and enters the office.
"A-Asmodeus-kun..."
"Tch... It's him..."
He walks to you and Iruma and you thought, he's here to hurt you two again, so you took on a fighting stance. He wasn't here to fight.
No, he drops down on his knee and firmly said: "I am at your service, Iruma and (Y/N)-sama!"
"Huh?"
"There is nothing I can say. I completely and utterly lost our duel earlier. On top of that, I was informed that you, Iruma-sama, carried me to the infirmary. I, Asmodeus, was moved beyond words. Demon law dictates that the loser must serve the victor. Therefore..."
A loyal look crosses Asmodeus's face. "I give my all to you and will aide you in ruling over this school, Iruma and (Y/N)-sama!"
"What?! Wait a minute!" You harshly poke his chest. "Why do we want to rule over this school?! And we don't need a servant, got it?!"
Asmodeus gently grasps your hand, startling you. "Of course you get a special privilege, (Y/N)-sama..." He shyly adverts his eyes.
"When you came rushing towards me and fought me without displaying any fear... I could...see a confident and determined twinkle in your eyes. Your flawless fighting techniques, your quick and precise movements... Your very being sparked a fire in my heart! Yes! It's love at first sight! Please become my soulmate!"
"No, thanks."
Your blunt answer dumbfounded Asmodeus for a second, but he quickly recovers his smile.
"Are you only refusing me because you're shy~? Ah, that truly adds to your charm~!"
"I'm not being shy! I don't even like you! Back off!"
The pink-haired demon sighs dreamily as he stares at you with a love-struck expression. "Such boldness~! What a succubus you are~!"
"What did you call me?!"
"We should take it slow! Our relationship will surely blossom~!"
"Do you hear me?! There is no relationship between us!"
Sullivan cries happy tears. "My granddaughter's first boyfriend... They grow up so fast!"
"He's NOT my boyfriend, grandpa!!!"
"(Y/N)-chan, can I make this the main picture on the school's website?"
"NO!"
"We're quite unfortunate, (Y/N), aren't we...?", thought Iruma and sweatdrops. "I hope we can survive this school..."
Suzuki Iruma and (Y/N), age fourteen. Enrolled at the demon school Babyls. Have now acquired one subordinate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Bonus~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You, Iruma and Asmodeus are standing in the school hallway. Asmodeus is a real loyal demon, who always offers his help to you and your brother.

"Iruma-sama! (Y/N)-sama! Please ask me to do anything!"

"Sure... But we don't need anything right now!"

"I see." Asmodeus turns to you and asked in a sweet voice: "Do you have time on the weekend~? We should go out on a rendezvous~!"

You look at your nails in disinterest and growl: "In your dreams!"

"Alright~! See you in my dreams, (Y/N)-sama~!"

"You're so annoying..."

Eiko, the demon girl you saved, is secretly watching you.

"(Y/N)-san saved me. I want to thank her, and maybe get closer to her. (Y/N)-"

Asmodeus suddenly turns his head around, right in her direction, looking dead serious.

"I-Is something wrong?"

"I just felt a presence."

Eiko shivers behind the corner. "Scary... He's so scary, oh my gosh, he's scary."
