MK isn’t sure what is going on, he can’t feel his body at all. But he knew that he had died, killed by the Lady Bone Demon. He was fighting her and it looked like he was winning somehow, but was suddenly attacked from behind. He was sure it was the Lady Bone Demon’s doing.
I should have been more careful…Monkey king..He was still controlled by the Lady bone Demon… and Mei. She is still trapped.
MK thought about everyone he knew, very unsure about their future. But he held onto the hope of them surviving and being safe. Even if it was a little…
“Hey kid, are you going to keep being in deep thoughts or are you going to open your eyes?”
MK suddenly heard someone talking, how is it possible? Has he arrived in the underworld? He shakenly opened his eyes to see a bright light. He squinted at the sudden light in his eye, blinking a bit more. He saw a large figure in the light, he couldn't make them out since they were surrounded by light. Mk himself was sitting in nowhere at all.
“Who- Who are you?” MK asked, covering his eyes a little, kinda forgetting he is already dead.
“People have few names for me but most of them call me Buddha.” that figure who called themselves buddha said.
“Wait. your buddha? Like, the real thing?” MK spoke in shock.
“Yes, the one and only. Now kid, I don’t have much time. I will just explain this plainly. I can bring you back to life but not in the way you expect it to be. It’s more like time traveling but in your own body in the past, I can’t control how you would be and look like but you would be younger and sent back to the timeline before the pilgrims find the Demon Bone Lady. I want you to find a way to stop the Demon Bone Lady that won't cause chaos and destruction in the future in the current timeline.” Buddha said in one breath, trying to explain to MK in an efficient way.
MK was even more shocked and confused even. “How will I stop the Lady Bone Demon from doing that? And won’t this- like, mix and mess with the timeline?”
Buddha laughed at his question. “That is for you to figure it out. Maybe not have Tang Sanzang show her mercy or to destroy her before they get to her. These two are the most possible ways you can stop her for real.” He said then sighed.
“I wouldn’t have expected things to go horribly wrong with this timeline with you dying. You weren't supposed to die at all.” He mumbled under his breath but MK still heard it.
I wasn’t supposed to die at all-!? so- I- I died not because of disney but because I was.. too weak? MK couldn’t believe it. He was supposed to be alive. Still alive but he messes it up like he always does. MK felt like the world was crashing in. Even more so than before…
“Hey Kid! Don’t go back to depressing thoughts. You can fix things, and… it isn’t really your fault. It would never be unless you did it on purpose. I am giving you the choice to go back and fix things and make your life real better when you do it. At the finishing line, it would be rewarding. Just to let you know, you're not alone in this. While I can’t help much since it’s in another timeline and I can’t intervene at all normally. I can still talk and give advice in troubled times.” Buddha said in his usual tone. But not like MK knows their usual tone of voice anyway.
MK snaps out of his thoughts. Looking back to Buddha who is ever so bright that he can imagine it stinging his eyes. Well, it really was stinging his eyes! He quickly rubbed his eyes full of tears away. “...thanks for the prep talk… So you're going to send me back in time to save the world or the future right? I’m in! But how is this going to work? And how much can I change?”
“Okay kid, let me just plainly say this, you can change it as much as you like, but the past before you went there is stable, you won’t be able to change that since it was before you got there. You would be wayyyy younger like I said. Your origins won’t change, you would just be born or come out sooner. it would be like a new timeline, a one that you create. The timeline where you were basically adopted by Pigsy and Tang won’t happen since by the time you would be grown but you can still interact with them. I will tap into your potential and let it get unlocked, you would be able to use your full potential but it would feel like it was the first time you used it at first. Your experience with it won’t change though. This can help you to stop the comeback to the Bone Demon Lady…what else….”
“Why do you keep calling the Lady Bone Demon as Bone Lady Demon- wait. My origins? So… you know my parents?” MK asked while leaning in, being curious and all.
“Oh that, mhm, Lady Bone Demon, Bone Lady Demon this and that. Isn’t it the same anyway? As long as you know who it is. Like I'm calling her by a different name and call… And your origins…. Isn’t it better for you to find out for yourself? You will get the bits and pieces of that memory back soon enough.” Buddha said with a calm smile.
“W-what. But. that’s just toreture- urg…” MK practically whined that out, laying flat out on where he was at.
“Giving you a hint, the word Monkie. Not like there is any other word that can fit it.” Buddha chuckled.
“COME ON!? That’s too broad. Even I am called the Monkie kid… you're not just making fun of my nickname are you?” MK said with a glare, but since Budda was too bright to look at him, he looked to the side.
Buddha laughed once more “Hahaha no I am not making fun of it at all. In any case, I’m running low on time. You need to either find Sun WuKong or Macaque to help you based on what you're choosing to do in the end. Hopefully whatever you choose will be the best outcome for your future..”
“Huh. w-wait. I’m not-” really yet-! MK was suddenly thrown into somewhere. He didn’t know where, but at least he has a second chance at this right? A restart in his new life.
