Chapter Text
That bewildered look on her face crushed my heart into a million pieces. Her face scrunched up trying to recognize who she was seeing, but there was nothing.
"It's me, P'Gyo. I'm your good girl forever, remember?"
But that's not what I said...
I moved back when I saw that she was hurting herself trying to make an effort to remember me.
She has so many people that care about her.
Maybe this is a good thing. After all, she's here because of me...
I left the room upset as quietly as possible. The tears that I had been holding in started to cascade down my face like a waterfall.
I felt somebody's hand on my shoulder.
"Manaow... She just woke up. It could take some time for her to remember you, but she will." I sniffled and nodded. "Give her time."
"I- I will. I better go." Thida nodded.
I walked away from the room where my one true love who doesn't remember me is in. I walked through the hallways of the hospital with my head down avoiding looking into anybody's eyes. I pressed the elevator button as I messaged Jom to come pick me up.
"Excuse me." I looked up and met the eyes of P'Gyo's mom. I panicked and took the stairs avoiding her. I don't want her to know I'm the reason why her wonderful daughter is currently in the hospital.
"Hey, I thought you were staying here for a couple of hours. You're lucky I stopped by the mall nearby." I put on my seatbelt and looked straight ahead without meeting Jom's eyes. "Naow, are you okay?"
"Can we please just go?" I mumbled.
"Yeah, sure." Jom's voice sounded worried, but I wasn't ready to talk about it just yet.
