Chapter Text
Sonic stood there. Nine had just left with all the shards, his only hope of ever going back home. It’s all Sonic’s fault… if only he listened to his friends in the first place. If only he wasn’t so fucking stubborn. Now there’s no chance of getting home. And it’s all his fault.
Footsteps were approaching behind him, “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.” He could hear Shadow say, “HE LEFT WITH THE GODDAMN PRISM SHARDS!! AND YOU JUST LET HIM FUCKING GO!!??” Shadow yelled in a fit of rage, “I TOLD YOU NOT TO TRUST THAT NINE TAILED SON OF A BITCH, BUT YOU DID ANYWAYS, HUH!?” No response, “THAT TRAITOR IS NOT YOUR FUCKING BROTHER, SONIC!!” Still no response.
“YOU’RE SERIOUSLY IGNORING ME!?” Shadow yelled, “Fucking pathetic.” He muttered under his breath as he walks closer. Once he got close enough, he pushed Sonic so he would turn around and face him. As soon as he faced him, he was about to punch him in his stupid face— but he stopped midway.
Sonic’s eyes were lifeless. Any spark that was in them had disappeared. He showed no emotion, well— except for exhaustion and betrayal.
“Sonic..?” Shadow practically whispered. Sonic couldn’t even look up to face him.
He really is pathetic, isn’t he? He can’t do anything right, and now not sleeping for five days straight finally caught up to him. He starts tearing up. Why is he crying? He has no right to cry, he did this to himself. For the past few days he has been day dreaming what it would be like to—well—be gone, to disappear, to die. I mean, if he was gone, there wouldn’t be any “Sonic” to mess things up all the time. He was thinking, once this was all over, and he was back at green hill, he’d end it.
The ground shaking was what made Sonic go out of his daze.
“Faker, this isn’t the time to pout! C’mon, we have to go before this place is destroyed!!” Shadow yelled, a bit of worry in his voice was audible. But Sonic just stood there,
“Sonic!?” His knees buckled, causing him to collapse to the floor. He didn’t even make the effort to get up. Perhaps this was the best decision, to die here and now. Shadow is more suitable to solve this issue. Sonic would just get in the way… like always.
“Sonic, come on! Don’t die on me, Faker,”
“Why not..?” Sonic finally spoke,
“What?”
“It’d be better if I was gone… and you know it, Shadow.” His voice started shaking, more tears slipping down his face.
Just as the cave was about to collapse, Shadow grabbed Sonic’s arm and stormed out of the ghost hill. Finally, they were back at the shatter space. They landed on one of the floating shards of crystal. Now that Shadow was up close to his “rival’s” face, he noticed the bags under Sonic’s eyes, and the tears streaming down his face almost like a waterfall. Sonic was about to collapse again, but Shadow helped him balance, then sat him down.
