Work Text:
Warm air replaces the usually eerie feeling of a night. It's slowly turning summer, and while still windy, the day *was* fairly hot.
Elliot and Stelle are returning from one of their adventures. They've found themselves at the spot they started at about 5 times already, and at this point they're better off building a new house and starting new lifes.
The trip to here (as they were searching for treasure) was mostly by sea. And it's even easier to get lost at sea. And they haven't come across any body of water yet. Hell, they're *in the mountains*. And if the trip here took 2 or 3 days, the one returning is gonna take at least 2 weeks.
— Mmm.. we've seen this before, haven't we.. — Stelle asks, voice desperate. It's a rhetorical question, because they *have* been here already.
Elliot doesn't bother to answer. It's amazing to Stelle, how Elliott is still wearing that peace-maker smile on her face. The only difference is that her brows are *ever so slightly* furrowed.
Stelle has been leading the way so far, as they would lose eachother immediately if Elliot was leading the way. Besides, like this, Stelle can protect her love. Who knows what's lurking in the shadows ...
————
The night only seems to get darker, and it's like no time passed yet. El's smile is slowly cracking, and Stelle is already exhausted from all the fighting.
The scenery, though, is quite beautiful. They've entered a snow biome, and the aurora borealis is confidently shining in the sky, mixes of blue and green, with purple shining through. Elliot watches as Stelle turns around, checking up on her. The scenery is even more beautiful now.
But more noticeably, Stelle looks .. tired, to say the least. A little rest won't hurt anybody. And so, El offers:
— Stellie. Why don't we lay down? *I'm* a little tired. — putting the emphasis on the "*I'm*" was probably the best way to go around this, since Stelle could very much die of exhaustion, while swearing that she's fine and checking on Eliott instead. So, if El's tired, then Stelle would *love* to lay down. And so they do.
The snow is very light, and although cold, eachother's presence is enough warmth for the both of them. El grabs Stelle's hand.
— Did you know, that's the constellation of Cassiopeia — Eliott says — It's called the constellation of love — she looks at Stelle.
— There's something much more greater than a constellation laying next to me, though – Stelle looks back, smiling. Eliott blushes.
— That's.. — she pauses and looks at the sky, thinking for a moment — I could say the same about you — it's a very ... common thing .. to say back to someone flirting, but it's enough to have Stelle turn away, scoffing.
— Right. — Stelle mumbles, turning her back to Elliot.
They reside in the silence, unspoken words filling the air. The stars really *are* beautiful tonight, Elliot notices. And It's not everyday that you can witness an Aurora Borealis with someone you want to spent the rest of your life with. An energetic and fun adventure turned really quickly into one of the best dates the two ever had (though, they *really* haven't had a lot).
