Chapter Text
Chapter One
My head aches painfully as my vision focuses and I am trying to remember what the heck had happened.
I am standing in an unfamiliar room that I know isn't mine to my confusion, the face I saw in a mirror isn't mine either. Instead of a man of 27-year-old archaeology with Latin descent staring back at me.
I see a fair-skinned teenager with silver hair like in an anime with red eyes to match the look. What the fuck is going on!
After touching and examining my new looks to be sure I am not on drugs or something. I slowly calmed down and tried to remember what I was last doing and all I recall is that I was in a newly discovered tomb in Egypt and suddenly there was shaking while I was examining some of the writing in a chamber.
Oh my….. there must have been a cave in and I bit the dust. Didn't think my job would ever get me killed and in such an accident like a cave-in.
Alright, I died but apparently, I was reborn like in some manga or anime, and currently in a unknown room now. Well time to figure out where I am and hopefully I am not in a mess up universal.
In the room, I saw things like a highly advanced-looking PC and other pieces of technology that crossed out any medieval which is great.
I didn't want to be in Middle Earth or hell Westeros. So I explored the room, there was a large bed, a desk where the computer sat, and a closet filled with mixed jumpsuits, military-style uniforms, and what I assume are civilian clothes. I noticed kanji writing on a few posters and things in the room.
Along with variables of footwear at the bottom, I decided to turn on the PC and found it very easy to use despite it being all in Japanese, which I can now read. Heck, I knew the password and instantly knew where everything was in it. And answers came quickly as I just stared at the screen with a flabbergasted face after doing a few searches.
The good news is I now know that I am in the Star Trek universe and I am on a planet called Edo in the Heian system. I found limited information on the Eugenics War and World War III. But what soon made me cringe and a twitch developed in my right eye was the history of my new home.
To make a long story short, I am on a foreign planet that was colonized in 2138 by an independent group of essentially rich tech bros, famous artists, and businessmen with common interests who decided to get off a still screwed-up Earth suffering from the third-world war in the year 2090. They had pooled their remaining wealth and resources to acquire second-hand transport ships from the alien traders who established trade ties with the earth around 2083 and were a regular customer for material or cultural goods from humanity.
The surviving governments of the earth even encourage their efforts to leave the planet. Make might sense since they be able to seize what assets the colonists would have to leave behind.
I rolled my eyes at the idea of rich people abandoning a post-apocalyptic Earth but what caught my attention was that they modified the wrap engines for long-distance travel, added sleeper pods, and were smart enough to recruit skilled personnel whose families were brought along for the trip. The small fleet of seven left Earth in 2090 with a rotating bridge crew on each ship to make sure nothing goes wrong as everyone is in cryo for the journey. Christ those folks were so lucky there are so many things that could have gone wrong and destroyed this attempt at colonization. I wonder if the sleep pods were human or alien-built since I didn't think it would be possible for a still recovering Earth to develop them.
Despite using warp engines for part of the journey. It seems they mostly used the impulse thrusters to cruise most of the way. While making periodic stops to collect resources from asteroids or planets.
At least these people seem to have thought ahead and planned for a long journey instead of winging it. They aimed for a deep region in unknown space. Appearing they wanted to get as far away from Earth as possible.
Fast forward forty years and finally the eighth five-year bridge crews of the ships find a suitable M-class planet with an earth-like climate in the sector they picked and awaken everyone else.
A colony is quickly established on the newly named planet Lantea, which was named after the leading family in the expedition who assumed leadership of the colony, and after a few years, the other influential families leave Lantea to establish their colonies with their supporters.
Well, that is not a surprise, one look at the list of influential names and their bios. There was no way they were all going to accept living in the same colony together with their egos.
Using their ships to scout nearby systems beforehand and staking out claims to confirmed habitable planets. My new home was established by a German Tech investor Hans Steiner and his wife Freya Steiner. Who were way into Japanese culture and customs to the point where they changed their last names to Midoriya then went on to create a weird German-American-Japanese hybrid-influenced colony on Edo and years later Hans declared himself Shogun establishing a Shogunate. I continue reading about the other families and it's mostly the same thing. They established themselves on some planet or in one case a moon then declared themselves the boss of said colony.
I laughed hard at this, these rich pricks just wanted to leave Earth to set themselves up as tin pot rulers or larping as monarchs. I turned off the PC and took a moment to let all this sink in. I am pissed I wasn't SI into a federation citizen but a guy in some likely backwater dictatorship state and also thought who sent me here. Even if I disagree with the federation or Starfleet policies or even some of its culture, I still would have preferred the chance to serve in Starfleet and meet my favorite characters.
Q and the Prophets came to my mind first as they could likely do this with their powers. Also, I wonder if the weirdness of my new home is going to be the tip of the iceberg going on from here now. Star Trek alone has many weird or just straight-up ridiculous cultures or planets in the series. Like Angel One or that African theme planet in TNG's first season alone.
I rub my head as the thought of possibly dealing with stuff like that gives me a headache. I decided to leave the room and meet my new family in this world. Hopefully, they are nice and aren't pricks to me or worse.
The moment I step outside my room, I am hit by the scene of a hallway lined with typical or stereotypical Japanese decorations. I walked through the hallway and couldn't help admiring some of the decorations even if it was a bit tacky or too much. As I pass a large mirror I take a moment to appreciate my new body. Granted the hair and eyes would likely make people think I am albino but I definitely won't have problems attracting girls. This guy kept himself in really great shape and hopefully, I will be able to maintain it.
Especially as I look good in this black and green uniform I am wearing with a couple of gold bars attached to the right side of my chest. Was I a soldier or something? Damn, I have forgotten to check on that PC on who I am in this world. Maybe I am a cadet since I look in my late teens and my hair is cut short.
Or maybe a noble in the Shogunate or at the most a person from a well-off merchant family. Then suddenly I said " Hanzo" and it took a moment to realize it was my first name. I got another painful headache that went away after a moment.
Before I could ponder more about my identity in this face. A mature blonde woman finds me and looks extremely mad. " Where have you been!! Your father is waiting for you at your ceremony, you should have left the planet an hour ago, come now and maybe he won't be too angry with you if we hurry." She tells me and grabs my arm to drag me away to a waiting shuttle outside.
I nearly had a panic attack when the shuttle took off and I saw from a side window next to my seat how quickly we left the planet for an orbital shipyard.
As the shuttle docks inside after passing a force field, I see several ships in various stages of completion and see one that is just about finished with a crowd of people around it.
"She is your Hanzo, the first of her class, and a new design that our ship designers came up with." The lady told me and I almost jaw-dropped upon hearing this. First, this woman is my new mother and now I am getting a damn spaceship.
What the heck did I do in my old life to deserve this?
After docking and getting out of the craft, I was escorted by a squad of soldiers to the gathering of people at a platform where a man very similar to me in a military uniform was there. He turns to me as I walk on stage and turns to the large crowd. " Welcome my son Crown Prince Hanzo Midoriya and the new captain of the Amaterasu. May he lead the ship and her crew well into her maiden voyage tomorrow " he announces and my heart almost halts at what he just said.
Fuck whoever dropped me in this body…. I can't be a star captain this young or even have the training for it.
I just wave at the folks and barely give a short speech on how grateful I am to get to captain this new ship. After the ceremony is over, I am taken on a tour inside my vessel by my new father and shown around. Bits of knowledge of this ship start appearing in my head as I try to stay calm during the tour.
Halfway into the tour, I gained enough memories of the original Hanzo to understand my current situation even better. The Amaterasu is a battle cruiser-class vessel that is armed with the latest weapons and shields in the military's current arsenal. Also, I am twenty and have been to a military academy since twelve, so I guess I am qualified to an extent but thankfully I was only supposed to take her out for a short trip and explore a few nearby star systems.
This is some serious nepotism here, I can see getting a smaller ship to command as my first assignment but commanding the biggest ship in the navy is a bit too much. Military academy graduate or not, you don't just toss a battle cruiser command at a rookie ( who was promoted to Captain right after he left the academy) and expect there won't be some blowback over the decision.
An interesting fact I discovered was that genetic cosmetic enhancement was very popular in the Shogunate and other states. It explained my hair and eye colors along with why many folks had unnatural hair colors as well. I thought hair dyeing was just a popular fad until the original Hanzo's memories came to me. Hopefully, the Federation doesn't take this too badly if I ever meet them. They are super strict on even minor human genetic modification if I remember correctly from the shows.
After the tour, I changed into a formal dress uniform for a dinner party in my honor and to meet influential people. I met my XO or executive officer Commander Frank Rommel who was friendly but I could see some resentment in his eyes despite the smile on his face. I quickly began talking with him and asking him questions about himself.
Commander Rommel seems surprised at my attempt to get to know him. He tells me he is from New Hokkaido, went to the academy well, and a brief description of his service so far.
Food and drinks were delicious as it was a blend of mostly American and Japanese dishes with a little European influence.
My favorite part was meeting several cute girls from the Lantean Republic, the Elysium Commonwealth, Jarldom of New Jorvik, Mycenae Confederation, Washington Freehold, and from here in the Shogunate. Being an heir made me a chick magnet and I relished the night chatting with them.
Oh, smartphones are a thing here, much more advanced than what I used to own but work very similarly to my old iPhone. I will soon add some more contact numbers of a few ladies.
Had to control myself as well since I just wanted to pig out a little with all the free food and drinks available. Since growing up in a working-class family I am not used to all these delicious dishes and expensive alcohol.
I managed to sample nearly everything throughout the event and even dance with a few lovely ladies. More than one offered me some companionship but I turned them down since I still getting used to this new life.
But eventually, I had to turn it in for the night and tomorrow's launch. Instead of the palace, I quartered in my ship and my new room was very spacious compared to what I see on Star Trek most of the time. My nerves were on edge as I felt my anxiety rise as everything that's happened hit me like a brick. I went from a simple archaeologist to the heir of a space kingdom in Star Trek in just a day.
I decided to do some breathing techniques on my soft new bed to calm myself and then check out the captain quarters that are now mine.
Not only did I have a private restroom but a walk-in closet and a mini kitchen too. Before I hit the sack I did some heavy reading for a couple of hours with a manual on the vessel left for me on my desk in my quarters. Oh, I finally checked the calendar to see what year it is in this universe and it's 2363 by the old Earth calendar.
Enterprise D should be launching this year if my memory is right. Maybe I can meet my favorite characters after all.
Next day
"Captain, all systems are green and all stations report normal status. Flight control has green light our departure as well, should I fire up the sublight engines?"
Lt Tangent Oda who sat at the helm with flight Navigator Lt Michael Grant at her side asked me.
" Yes, nice and slow since she is mostly a new ship lieutenant Oda" I answer her and relax in my chair for the ride. The bridge of Amaterasu is something that looks straight out of an old 80s sci-fi movie but all the tech is more modern and slightly less bulky.
( The bridge of the Amaterasu)
The layout may make me wonder how much aliens influenced Starfleet designs on their bridge. This bridge would be so foreign to any Starfleet personnel or even other trek aliens maybe. The TNG crew would for sure hate having to work on this bridge.
But we have seatbelts and I have my consoles. The layout has the helm and navigation stations in the front like usual with a large monitor directly in front of them. On their sides are engineering on the right and communion stations on the left.
Behind them in the center of the room are my station and the tactical/security station. On the furthest sides of the room are some more monitors and consoles but these are more for backups. Commander Rommel has his station at one of them and will mostly supervise the bridge crew when I am not around. Another nice feature was that the bridge was buried deep in the ship instead of at the top like many Starfleet vessels. That alone made me feel safer traveling on this starship.
I made a mental note of the bridge crew to remember their names and stations.
Lieutenant Tangent Oda-Helm
Lieutenant Michael Grant - navigation
Ensign Rachel Green- communication
Lieutenant Shingen Takeda- Engineering
Lieutenant Robert Adenauer- Tactical
Commander Frank Rommel- XO position
The lack of certain features and equipment Federation vessels would have was a disappointing thing. The ship had to carry a large number of rations but had a sizable kitchen with the ability to process any alien foodstuffs we might come across. Another fact was that this vessel looked like a real warship with its cannon emplacements and shape which alone made it so different from any Starfleet or even canon alien ships. The ship's shields were developed locally which is great though I imagine it is not as powerful as the ones of the Federation or its rivals or allies.
The Amaterasu was built not just as the flagship of the Shogunate navy but as an achievement and display of power to our neighbors.
As my vessel left the shipyard and prepared the warp drive for travel, part of me was wishing I was on a Starfleet ship. The Amaterasu feels underwhelming since its main armaments are particle beam cannons and the most advanced nuclear tip missiles in our arsenal. At least there are sensor and deflector arrays along with the most advanced wrap core design in the Shogunate that get us to wrap 7.5, once we're a good distance away I ordered Oda to hit it and mentally prepare myself for warp speed.
The Amaterasu forms the warp bubble quickly and we jump into subspace with no problems. As I looked over the ship's status I found it weird to not see the warp nacelles so common on Starfleet ships create the bubble. Instead, the Amaterasu has warp coils installed directly in but those areas are heavily protected to prevent the radiation they produce from killing us.
( Battle cruiser Amaterasu)
When we entered subspace as smoothly as possible, I decided to take a short nap in my quarters since all systems were normal. And it's going to take a few days to get there, so why not nap a little and afterward study more about my new surroundings in my off time?
A few days later
Designated star system P001
" Captain we have arrived at the star system" Lt Oda announced over my comm as I finished the ship's manual on the Amaterasu and I couldn't help whistling at her some of her specs.
She is 1,200 feet long
280 feet wide
300 feet tall with 27 decks
13 particle cannon turrets of different calibers
Eight missiles launchers
A crew size of 950 sailors plus 200 two marines
She is slightly bigger than the biggest aircraft carrier back on my old Earth and a little more than half the size of Enterprise D if my memory is right. The Amaterasu is currently the biggest ship to be launched by the Shogunate despite the 'slight' drain the construction of the vessel caused on the economy.
That reminds me to talk with my new father about how to stimulate the economy as it has been sluggish for a few years. There were some major protests about sinking massive amounts of funds to build new warships when unemployment was up and the economy was getting more stagnant.
I put down the manual and headed to the bridge when the bridge crew greeted me. The monitor displays a G-type star surrounded by several planets or moons. Information is still being analyzed by computers but I spot on my screen some objects around the fourth planet from the star.
" Captain, I am picking up signals…. Faint but they are coming from the fourth planet" Ensign Green tells me from her station. " What sort of signals?" I ask her and she replies quickly" Audit transmission and it appears to be on a loop"
She puts it on the speaker and I hear a voice speaking some unknown language. It didn't take long to notice it kept repeating the same thing but I told the Ensign to shut it off.
" Shouldn't the universal translator be working?" I wondered if we even have one.
" It's still experimental Captain, the system is currently analyzing the language on the transmission but needs more data before it can give us a decent translation" Commander Rommel answers me.
" Get us closer to the planet and do a sweep of the system for any signs of danger as well" I order the bridge crew and check the readout of the system so far. There is one M-class planet with a moon circling it, three gas giants along with the typical scattering of other minor objects like asteroids or dwarf planets.
The next couple of hours were boring as the sublight engines got us closer to the fourth planet and our seniors picked up some things we weren't expecting. " Captain, the sensors are picking up high levels of radiation on the planet's surface….. I think there was a nuclear exchange!" Lt Takeda exclaimed when we got close enough to the planet.
The monitor shows several orbital space stations over a planet that isn't doing well. " Images from the surface of this world aren't looking great Captain" Rommel comments to me as we watch on the screen pictures of ruined cities and settlements. The scanners also detected large amounts of ash and debris in the atmosphere causing a nuclear winter on the surface.
I feel uneasy at hearing all that since Earth had done the same to itself during WW3 in this universe.
" How long could this have happened?" I ask as I see more images of the decimated world. " Maybe a few years ago according to the computers…. They must have thrown everything they had at each other because it's still pretty hot in many areas, " Adenauer answers in a low tone.
" Captain, there are more transmissions…they are coming from those space stations! " Ensign Green announces and an image of an alien appears on the monitor.
I nearly burst into laughter as the display showed what I could only describe as a female space elf…. A pretty one at that but her ragged appearance and desperate eyes were not a good sign as she spoke in her native tongue.
Which still hasn't been translated but Ensign Green told me once the system has more data from the transmissions on the language we should be able to understand her soon. Though it doesn't take a genius to figure out what she likely wants, other members of her race had sent their message in the same desperate-sounding tones and some were nearly in tears.
'What I wouldn't give for a Starfleet universal translator right now'
I thought before Ensign Green finally announced the translator was now working an hour later.
During that time, I had more scans done on the planet and it was just bad. Large sections of continents are wastelands and there are ruins or craters everywhere. These folks went all out since there were only a few places on the alien planet left habitable.
A particular chain of islands in the southern hemisphere of Abor proved to be still safe and after extending the range of our coms. We even pick up short-range radio transmissions around them.
But the message from space draws our attention first.
" To the unknown spacecraft in orbit! I am acting Consul Gylledhia Qinrie of the Emergency Aborian Government…. My people are in desperate need of aid!! Please reply to our message!! "
The first video is translated and the bridge gets quiet. I took a long moment to think and decided to help since the Shogunate has no prime directive or any real first contact protocol since we have been isolated with our human neighbors for over two centuries.
"Captain, shouldn't we first alert the High command before offering aid to these people?" Commander Rommel brought it up after I told him of my decision.
"I will inform them but first we will offer whatever is possible to these people" I replied to him and told Ensign Green to contact this consul.
Ensign Green opened up a channel to the station where this acting Consul transmitted from and I sent my reply to her.
" To Acting Consul Qinrie, This is Captain Midoriya of the Shogunate Ship Amaterasu we have received your plea for help and are ready to offer whatever we can at the moment"
Her reply came half an hour later and she appeared very relieved. " Thank you Captain Midoriya! We almost gave up hope that anyone would get our signals, a tragedy has befallen our world and those of us left are barely surviving on these stations."
Consul Qinrie explained how almost five years ago the two biggest political blocs on her planet of Abor went to war that turned nuclear very quickly. She was an education minister from a minor nation visiting one of their new Space stations for a PR event when the nuclear exchange happened.
I feel some pity for her as she likely lost her family during the nuclear exchange or in the aftermath.
The destruction was so bad that they lost total contact with any governments on the planet and besides a few primitive shuttles that were able to get off after the exchange, there was no word from the surface. The survivors in their stations had to band together and pool their resources to sustain themselves which wasn't helped when survivors on the planet joined them after fleeing on the few shuttles to survive the initial exchange.
Miss Qinrie being the only government official in space, found herself head of the emergency government that was formed and has been trying to manage her remaining people's survival since then. But resources have been depleted and their equipment is breaking down as spare parts are gone.
Consul Qinrie pleading for evacuation as they are just weeks from a total collapse of their stations. I attempt to offer repairs to their stations but she says they have been pushed to the limits just trying to maintain a stable environment for them.
I decided to first send supplies and engineers to see if their stations could be repaired or patched up to last until proper transport ships could arrive to move these folks. The Aborians look miserable as the video feed from the Marines' combat camera shows when the first shuttle docked with a station and they entered. Many are in threadbare clothing or worn-out space suits with all showing signs of malnourishment. The situation is the same on the other stations and aid is handed out under the supervision of the marines to prevent any trouble. While Aborian technicians and station crew members lead my engineer teams to where their systems are located after some discussions.
During this time the inhabitants are becoming anxious and begging my marines to let them on their shuttle. In each station, the same thing is repeated with people begging to be let on or for us to take the few children they had. Some offer Latinum to my surprise, jewelry or even their 'bodies' for a ride on our ship. This made me pity these poor folks and even more when sensor readouts showed how horrible the air quality is on these stations.
After several hours the engineering teams report that there is no way they can repair the Space station systems despite the technology being similar to ours as they are just too degraded to be patched up or repaired. One petty chief recommended immediate evacuation as the Aborians were displaying many health issues from just living in the poor environment.
I contacted High Command to send an immediate message for transport ships with the subspace communication buoy automatically dropping into the system when we entered.
" Captain Midoriya, I know this is a lot to ask but half the stations are on the verge of failure and need to be evacuated now. We are willing to surrender all weapons and our remaining valuables for passage but we can't wait"
Consul Qinrie told me after I told her it would be at least several weeks before they were moved after I received a message from home approving my humanitarian request. I called for a meeting with my senior staff and asked if we could fit in a possible nearly two thousand more people. My senior Engineer Lt Commander Yoshi Ashikaga speaks up " Captain we can do it if we make room for them in the cargo spaces and shuttle bay but life support will be taxed by it and the air will get pretty bad but breathable."
" What about the security issues…. I know these people require help but what if they tried to take over the ship" Commander Rommel mentions and the head of the marine company onboard Major Jane Geary tells us her marines will be ready for any possible trouble from the refugees. The discussion turns to food supplies but we have enough to feed them on the return trip to Heian.
I asked about those islands we located that are still safe and not radiated. We could offload a portion of the survivors there to reduce stress on us. Rommel agrees it's a good idea since we already know there are survivors on those islands.
A few other points are brought up but I give the order to start fetching the Aborian refugees with our shuttles after the meeting has ended.
I head back to the bridge and have Ensign Green contact those islands to see who is in charge and inform them of the situation.
Half an hour late
"As king of the Southern islands, I will not accept the refugees!! We already have too many mouths to feed as it is and don't need more." An Aborian male calling himself King Garrus Loon declares over the radio after I have explained the current crisis. I pinch the bridge of my nose in frustration at his answer.
"But we will trade women or men if you prefer for supplies or arms, Captain Midoriya" King Garrus offers and I feel a twitch in my left eye.
Did this dude just offer to trade people for goods!!?
"Fuck it I try being nice but desperate times call for desperate measures"
I thought and called Major Geary to prepare her marines to land on the capital island and take this guy prisoner.
"Sir, you want me to capture a foreign ruler?" Major Geary asks in a tone of disbelief and I tell her yes. Rommel also voiced his objection to what amounts to regime change. But I counter that these islands were not under a monarchy before the war according to consul Qinrie, when we asked her about these islands and that means that King Garrus had overthrown the former legitimate government.
I can't imagine any Starfleet officer would be happy about this.
"All we are doing is removing a tyrant and allowing the people to restore their former democratic government," I said to Commander Rommel who still looked at me with speculation.
It took an hour to assemble the marines, and shuttles and craft a plan. The refugee operation is put on temporary hold as we need all the shuttles for this military operation.
I gave the green light and the shuttles flew off from Amaterasu's hangar bay.
My nerves are on the edge as I doubt myself over this extreme choice of action. Especially as this can potentially get a lot of my men killed.
To everyone's disbelief, the shuttles face no resistance as they land outside the capital settlement of Anion on the biggest island. And Major Geary's Marines just marched into empty streets with no shots fired and only faced some resistance at the palace.
After that brief firefight that left a dozen Aborians dead and nearly three dozen wounded with no casualties along my marines. The defenders just quit and surrendered en masse. The former King Garrus is dragged out of his palace screaming as the streets are filled now with celebrating civilians.
The video feed from the Marines shows cheering crowds of people and trying to kiss or hug the Marines.
I restarted the refugee operation by having half the shuttles start moving folks off those space stations.
Several days later
Anion, Southern Islands
"Captain Midoriya I have no words to express the gratitude you show to me and my people." Consul Qinrie tells me as we are finally meeting up face to face in her new office. She is weary from all the stress of her position and it's not hard to see she is close to breaking from it all.
I offer her a glass of sake I brought, which she eagerly accepts and downs quickly. "It's been almost five years since I last had a drink," consul Qinrie says and I gave her the whole bottle…. The poor woman deserves it
"So since the Southern Islands are now part of the Aborian Emergency Government. How are things now without that tyrant in charge?" I ask her now as she is more relaxed. Said man and his men were executed yesterday after a pretty quick trial.
"Good, the Islanders are very welcoming to me and the emergency council, and there so far no major incidents over some refugees being settled. At this point, the Islanders are just happy to be rid of that Tyrant and his goons. It helps that you are providing some food and a few water purifiers to produce drinkable water." She says and asks for another bottle which I provide to her.
I bring up that there are a few other safe spots around her planet with other survivors as well that have shown up on our scans. She sighs deeply and knows about two other safe zones because they too still have intact radio equipment and have been in contact with the former tyrant.
"Both zones are based around pre-war bunker complexes. And to be honest I am not happy about each one claiming to be a continuation of the two Blocs that ruined our world. Each one is already demanding resources, the disbandment of the AEG, and pleading our loyalty to one of them or else" Consul Qinrie tells me after the second bottle.
I just laughed and told her not to worry about it. From what we could tell from our scans across those zones, they can't even get to these islands much less threaten the Aborian Emergency Government.
Our talk turned back to the portion of her people on my ship and we both agreed they would be taken to the Shogunate for medical treatment as many are suffering from major illnesses. While the Shogunate is sending more ships to transport folks who want to go and bring in supplies for the survivors staying on Abor.
Consul Qinrie and the Emergency Council decided to rebrand the AEG as the United Aborian Union to represent a new beginning for the Aborian people a week after everything went down.
While denouncing the remnants of the Blocs as the sole reason why Aboria is a wasteland.
I and Miss Qinrie had negotiated a treaty between the UAN and the Shogunate. The Aborian people along with their system are to be annexed into the Shogunate with full civilian rights. Miss Qinrie was unwilling to accept any deals that left her people as second-class civilians if they joined the Shogunate. In return, the Shogunate government is to provide relief aid to survivors, help restore the planet, and military support to crush any resistance against the UAN.
I had no problems since it's all very reasonable and she agreed to hand over all the information on several alien races that used to visit their world for trade before the war. Plus apparently, the Aborian star system is rich in resources too.
Being the Crown Prince allows me some leeway to negotiate on behalf of the Shogunate.
On a side note, those alien traders she mentioned stopped coming after a few freighters came by after the exchange and they promptly left without answering their hail. I nearly laugh when I see an image of a certain race of money lovers in the file.
An interesting fact I learned, the Aborians had no warp drives yet when the first alien traders came ten years ago. Qinrie told me that her Bloc had monopolized interstellar trade because they had most of the resources that the traders wanted and this issue would be one of the causes of the Great War. Heck, she even had a few star charts they brought off a few traders to use for their space voyages when they finally built their warp drives.
But space exploration was their biggest priority at the time.
Back on the Amaterasu, the Aborians brought onboard the ship aren't causing any trouble. Thankfully their environmental requirements are compatible with ours and our food is edible as well to them. As agreed what weapons they had left were turned over but I gave strict orders that no valuables were to be accepted from the refugees.
It's kind of heartwarming watching the few children they had, stare at us with big eyes as they left the shuttles and then get excited when they saw the food I had set out for them in the shuttle bay when they had first boarded. Part of the crew had collected toys and gifts for the refugees.
More than a few Aborians kiss my hand or face in gratitude while weeping. Consul Qinrie herself visited my ship on the final day before we left and I gave her a tour of Amaterasu. I even invite her to dinner in my quarters to discuss several more topics if she wishes and has the time to spare. She blushed when I mentioned dinner in my room but acted very professionally.
While this whole event has detoured my first voyage as Captain, it's not a total waste and I gained some intel on the regions beyond the Shogunate's borders.
Several crew members give me sly smiles as I escort Qinrie around the ship.
Captain Midoriya's Log #1
Amaterasu's first trip out of the Shogunate was cut short before we could explore several designated systems but I am happy to say we saved an alien race from certain doom and gained some intel from them. My father and the Government are already spinning a story of how noble Prince Hanzo Midoriya rescued the survivors of a devastated alien race and charmed them into accepting citizenship into the Shogunate on state media.
Granted they left out how I removed a tyrant from power with military force. I am honestly happy that I didn't lose anyone and it was a quick victory overall.
I am also getting a medal and Major Geary as well for our actions.
Some of the Aborians are going to be settled on a new frontier planet recently established. Happy to say there is great excitement and many folks back home are enthusiastic about meeting the first aliens seen in nearly two centuries since the first colonists left Earth.
Once I dropped off the Aborians, resupplied our stores, and attended the welcoming ceremony. The Amaterasu can resume her voyage again and with the star charts provided by Miss Qinrie, I already have a course charted and ready to go once we are off again.

" What have you done now!!" A group of powerful beings shouts at another figure as he watches TV.
" Oh c'mon it's not like I haven't done this before, don't be a stick in the mud now. This is going to be great I tell you" he told them but they were still angry.
" You fool, this is more than just dropping a random soul into a body in the universe but you altered this universe in ways even you couldn't have expected!!" One shouted at him and he just waved him off.
" Yes I might have made a slight miscalculation and messed with the universe more than I meant to but this makes it all the more exciting as the ripples spread out," the man watching the TV said before he checked his watch.
" Excuse me but I got a date with a certain Starfleet crew. So bye now " the figure said as he snapped his fingers to disappear while those behind wished they could get rid of this madman.
The first chapter is down and more to come. The SI will be meeting Star Trek lovable capitalists next time and yes a certain man has screwed up in his attempt to add some excitement to the timeline. Altering the ST universe in ways he doesn't fully understand or want to happen. The TNG crew will show up and it's going to be fun for the SI.
More information will be revealed on the SI's region of space but I will say it's in the Alpha quadrant. On a note, the SI's home region because of their isolation is behind in technology but that changes after he established trade ties with the rest of the quadrant.
