Chapter 1: Barbie? RAQUELLE?

Chapter Text

Kens blue slip on shoes stepped onto the light pink brick, past the beautifully designed hot pink gate. He walked up to the bushes that were on display in the middle of the yard, which he had shaped. They had started to grow out, and looked a little messy. Ken made a note to himself to reshape it later today, and brainstormed what to make until he heard the guitar being played. He knew exactly who was playing, and sighed as he walked around the shrubbery to see Ryan's black hair and matching leather jacket.

His ocean blue guitar was sitting on his lap, with his foot tapping along the brick path. He was sitting on the steps leading to the porch, angled away from where Ken was standing. As Ken made his way up the steps, Ryan looked toward him and watched as he pulled the locked door. Ryan snickered, "the doors locked, doofus. Why do you think I'm out here?"

"Because she didn't want you inside?" Ken grabbed keys to the Dreamhouse out of his pockets and began to unlock the doors.

Ryan jumped up, "wait, how'd you get those?" making his way to Ken, moving on from his previous comment.

"Maybe it's because I'm her boyfriend," Ken smirked as the door opened, bragging to Ryan. Ryan had always tried to get with Barbie, even when she was dating Ken, and it pissed him off. He and his sister Raquelle would work together, trying to break their relationship up. It never worked, and he knew it never would. Him and Barbie were made for each other.

Ryan followed Ken through the door. No lights were on, and the entrance felt extremely lonely. It seemed as if it were deserted for years, however there was no dust. Ken must clean the Dreamhouse everyday, and it wasn't fair. Ken wasn't worthy of Barbie, and Ryan was. He deserved to have Barbie; she is perfect. And so is he.

Ken began to walk off, "where are you going?" Ryan's voice seemed to echo. He had never been in the Dreamhouse when nothing was happening. Ryan sped walk toward Ken to keep him in his sight.

Ken turned toward Ryan overdramatically. "I'm searching for Barbie," the sarcastic tone irked Ryan.

He wanted to walk away and search for Barbie on his own, so he could find her first. So he could be with Barbie without Ken's interference. he wanted to stick it to him, but he didn't know anything about the Dreamhouse. Or Barbie. Ken made the Dreamhouse, so he knew the floorplan. If he wandered off, Ken would find her first. "Where are you going?"

"To her room." Ryan knew Ken was trying to show off, showing him how he knew Barbie better. He wanted to slap him across his head.

The two continued to walk, Ryan's finger following the wall patterns. Barbie's Dreamhouse was a maze, and if he were to lose Ken he wouldn't be able to find his way back to the entrance. With his focus on the wall, he didn't notice that Ken had stopped walking. Ryan continued his fingers journey with the wall as he bumped into Ken.

"What the hell, why'd you stop?" Ryan's attitude had always been terrible, but Ken always knew how to make it worse.

Annoyed, Ken gestured to a door, "'cause we're here".

Almost as if Ryan's fight or flight kicked in, he pushed Ken away from the door. The force shoved him onto the ground. Ryan had no chance of getting through to Barbie if Ken was with him, so he had to talk to Barbie without Ken in the way.

Immediately after, Ryan opened the door to Barbie's bedroom. He turned his guitar off his back as he slid onto his knees through the door frame. The guitar rested on his knees while he began to strum a little, "I wrote this song for you, Barbie..." he began to play the song he had written and practiced for months.

Ken stood back up, aggravated. He walked over to Ryan, resting his hand on his shoulder planning to grab hold of his leather jacket and drag him outside. "Sorry about that Barbie..." as Ken looked into her bedroom, he saw a horrifying sight.

Ryan scowled as Ken interrupted his song. Before he could tell him off, he could feel the grip on his shoulder tighten. It hurt. He tried to pull his shoulder away as he looked up to Ken, but his motion stopped once he noticed his expression. It was full of terror, the blue in his eyes barely noticeable. Ryan followed Ken's eyes, to find what had him so surprised.

Barbie was in the center of her room, sitting on the floor. Fingers and toes were covering her lap, each cut off separately and the dust of plastic all over the floor. Limbs of plastic were covering the ground. Arms cut at the elbow and legs cut at the knees, the palms lonely from fingers and the feet lonely from toes, the torso and breasts separated, the neck and head separated. That's when Ryan saw the head. He had seen the black hair all over the floor, like shredded plastic. He recognized the face all too well. It was the one who never gave him the time of day, who couldn't care less about him. It was Raquelle, his twin sister.

As Ken saw Barbie eating the fingers taht were separated, he didn't know what to do. He didn't believe it, he didn't want to. Barbie began to stand up, the fingers and toes falling to the ground. Quickly, Ken picked up Ryan and threw him over his shoulder. He ran.
