Fireproof

Summary:

Uraraka Ochako always considered herself lucky, as she had everything: great parents and friends, passion in the name of physics, which she pursued at the University. However, her luck seemed to run out when trouble rose back at home.

Stressed and in a dire need of money, Ochako, tempted by the high pay, decides to sign a sketchy contract, which might or might not include weekly meetings with a certain pro-hero, who can wield both fire and ice.

P.S. the title is directly connected to the One Direction's song of the same name.

Notes:

This is my first fanfiction and of course it is todochako, because its cute and not enough fanfics are out there about it. Constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated.

Hope you enjoy reading this!

Chapter 1: How to Earn Money, When You're Broke and Have Questionable Morals

Chapter Text

Ochako Uraraka was desperate. Of course when she had just a few months left to finally graduate university and get a moderately well-paid job, everything went south. Her eyes twitched, as she turned the next page of her notebook, hands shaking as she took notes on quantum entanglement. She would have enjoyed this process, as precisely this subject was the deciding factor in choosing her major, her whole career, had her mind not been preoccupied by everything except her studies.

Ochako Uraraka was desperate and she blamed her parents for encouraging her to continue getting higher education, and herself for believing them and spending time on studying physics, instead of helping around the house, and actually being useful.

“Thank you. Goodbye!” - she told the kind librarian as she smiled and returned the book, feeling nausea rising in her throat, as she stepped outside and was hit with a cold and sobering wind.

Ochako Uraraka was desperate, and she had two choices. One obviously being to drop out, even though her mother strongly advised against it, and looking for a full-time job ASAP. Or, the more hopeful one was for her to miraculously find a part-time job, which perfectly aligned with her schedule, and paid three times her monthly living expenses, as the hospital bill certainly wasn't cheap.

But the hope was there, and Ochako was always an optimist, so after leaving the library, instead of going to The Cliffhangers Meeting place, where she would be on a Friday evening, drinking hot cocoa and discussing the book of that precise week, she texted Tsu that she won’t be making it to the meeting this week because she was feeling under the weather and went straight to her little dorm room.

“I’m home,” Ochako yelled, even though no one was there to give her an answer. Quickly, she made her way to her desk and after thinking for a little, typed in the search bar.

How to make money 500,000 yen in a month with limited hours?

After scrolling through numerous money gurus offering overpriced courses and promising millions of dollars, Ochako came across a reddit post, which piqued her interest.

“How I made 15 million yen, as a mother of four, while still looking after my family in nine months.”

“15 million yen is a lot of money.” said Ochako “Probably a scam”.

But her mouse still hovered on the link, until finally she decided to click it.

“After my husband got into a big debt with the bank, it was hard for him to find a consistent job to provide for his family. That’s why I needed to step up and help the family out, so after looking around and searching for a job which paid enough for a full family, I came across a page on the Endeavor's Hero Agency, where surrogates were paid much more than the average salary. After filling the form, I wasn’t contacted for a few months - ”

“Damn” - Ochako whispered.

“ - but suddenly received a text telling me that I was chosen. That’s how through gestational surrogacy, I managed to provide for my family.”

‘Surrogacy might be a solution.’ Ochako noted, as she exited the page and slowly started looking for other possible ways to make quick money. Her search though was in vain and short, as her phone started ringing. Ochako looked down. Tsu.

‘Deep breaths.’ Ochako reminded herself, as she widened her smile until her cheeks hurt. ‘Tsu already has enough on her mind.’

“Hi Tsu! How are you? How did the meeting go?”

“It went well Ochako, everyone liked The Bee Sting and discussing theories about its ending was really fun! How are you? Did you forget to eat today again? I didn’t see you at lunch”

“Everything is fine, don't worry.” Looking around, Ochako saw the instant noodle cup she had a few hours ago. “And no mother Tsu, I didn’t forget, I just ate two mochis, specifically the strawberry flavored ones and also instant noodles. I just got a call this morning from mom, dad just caught a cold and I have been worrying about that. It’s nothing serious, so don’t worry.”

“Oh, Ochako, do you want me to come over and maybe we can watch a movie together? We can call Mina and I can also bring ice cream. Or mochi, if you are still in the mood for that.”

“Tsu, I am always in the mood for sweets, especially mochi, but it’s getting late and I can’t sleep in, planning on going to breakfast and have an early shift at the coffee shop tomorrow.”

“Well, you know my number, you can call me if you need anything!”

“Of course, see you later Tsu.”

“Bye Ochako.”

The future physicist put down her phone, and watched the screen, until her best friends hung her phone. She really wanted to be with her friends on a couch watching a movie, without anything to worry about but that was for future Ochako, hopefully, after her father left the hospital.

Yawning, she looked at the time, and decided that tomorrow’s problems were tomorrow Ochako’s to deal with, so finally decided to go to sleep.

“Stripping is definitely an option,” said Ochako, as she picked up an apple, while getting a weird look from the lunch lady. “Plus, with my quirk, making pretty unique and awesome tricks and poses won’t be hard.”

“You would be a great stripper Chako,” remarked Mina, as they made their way towards the table right next to the big window, before Asui asked “But will you be comfortable doing that? Is there an emergency we don’t know about?”

Ochako looked out of the window, at the cloudy sky, red and yellow leaves falling and gently landing, maybe some following the wind. She felt a shiver up her spine, as she thought about what Tsu said. Of course she would be uncomfortable, not because she was insecure about her body, but because she would be undressed and feeling vulnerable, small. There were only two people, a girl and a boy, who had seen her naked in the past few years and both of them have been her long-term partners.

“There is no emergency Asui, just started thinking about the future and thought saving up would be good for me!”

“But Chako, you already work as a barista. You know how overworking yourself ended last time, and if you haven’t learned your lesson, I have and I won’t let you do that again.”

“I know, I know Tsu. Don’t worry, it was a stupid idea anyway, you are right, I have been stressing over my thesis lately, and thought drowning myself in work would clear my mind… But you are right, I know better!”

“Darling, you have nothing to worry about. Everyone knows you’re the best in the whole physics department. Even people around me, who study biology, have at least heard about you and your research! ”

“Mina, You’re exaggerat-”

“I’m not, Chako. You and I both know it. Oh, by the way, how’s your dad? I remember you telling Asui that he caught a cold.”

Ochako suddenly felt really warm and happy. Damn, she loved her best friends with her whole heart.

“He’s getting by, but everything is going to be okay” and for the first time that day, she believed that, she felt happy and optimistic.

“That’s great. Oh, by the way did you hear about Kentou, that guy from the drama club, dropping out? Supposedly he is planning to marry Shouto Todoroki. Don’t look at me like that, I didn’t encourage him to make that reckless decision! He said that since Todoroki is returning now is as great time as ever to drop out”

Uraraka Ochaco was sitting near the cash, doodling, contemplating whether or not stripping was something she could do, because the more she thought about surrogacy for a hero agency, the more ridiculous it sounded. First of all, she didn’t want any kids of her own and never imagined herself pregnant (the summer experience with her little cousins has taught her that). Being the quirky aunt was much better suited for her. While Ochako wouldn’t be raising the kid, she still felt the responsibility of keeping them safe for nine months and for them to hopefully not become criminals.

Second of all, she would be giving birth to a child, whose future has already been planned. Looking at the agency’s website, even though it said the children would receive a normal education and be raised in a family, it still alluded to the fact that they would be strongly encouraged (maybe even forced) to become heroes.

Not to mention, she would need to explain to her friends and parents why she was suddenly pregnant, with no father and in the end no baby to prove it.

On the other hand, she needed money and it was a completely legal and safe way to get some (they also paid half in the beginning, so no need to worry about time, if she was chosen soon of course). If she had a guilty conscience, she could always remember that it was a hero agency, (it was number one hero agency at that) and this arrangement would surely benefit society.

‘At least filling in the form wouldn’t hurt anyone," Ochako thought as she greeted the incoming customer with a smile on her face.

“Hi there! What can I get for you?”

“Hello, one medium black coffee on the go, please.”

“Certainly, I’ll be right back with your order,” Ochako smiled as she turned around and checked the coffee-making machine, realizing that it was out of water.

Five minutes of running and impatiently waiting for the coffee-machine to do its job (as Ochako hated letting customers wait, she was the employee of the month, thank you very much), Ochako returned with a big smile and a black coffee, only to be left surprised by the queue.

The Coffee Mocha Cafe was certainly not popular, but just visited enough by the local community to bring a small profit. After working for a few months, it was Ochako’s first time seeing over three people waiting in line, but the queue in front of her was long enough that some were even waiting outside.

Noticing the confusion and surprise on her face, the man quickly took the black coffee, as he told her “Don’t worry miss, a certain high-ranking hero has just returned from abroad and will be patrolling here in just a few minutes, that’s why all of us were called”.

Just noticing the filming equipment everyone seemed to carry around, Ochako smiled, as if thanking him for the information, and swiftly moved to the next customer. It was going to be a long day.

While waiting for the coffee machine, Ochako started thinking about what-ifs, which wasn’t her style per se, but with the paparazzi around, it was hard not to think about what would have happened, had she made it to the U.A. Entrance Exam in her teenage years. Would she have become a hero? Would she have helped people? Would she be famous? Would she be making at least enough not to worry over money?

“Grass isn’t always greener on the other side” Ochako reminded herself while slapping her cheeks and slightly lifting off the ground. Her dream was once to be a hero too, but the small part of her heart was happy she didn’t get the opportunity. ‘Nowadays, being a hero means more being a celebrity, dealing with paparazzi and interviews, getting brand-deals than actually helping, which in and of itself isn’t bad.’ thought Ochako to herself, ‘Crime rates are at an all time low, society just doesn’t need that many heros’.

Snapping back to reality, after handling all the customers, no one, not even the regular ones Ochako called friends, were sitting at the tables.

‘The pro-hero is here.’ Ochako thought, as she opened her laptop. No customer usually meant doing homework, but after mulling it over, she decided to open Endeavor's agency’s website in search of the form.

Name - Ochako

Surname - Uraraka

Age - 21

Blood Type - Blood Type B

Previous Pregnancy - No

Preferred form of contact - email

‘Maybe this isn’t going to be that hard’ - Ochako mused as she clicked next and looked over the questions.

Quirk Name - Zero Gravity

Quirk Description - Able to cancel out the effects of Earth’s gravitational pull on any object (including myself) while touching it with all of my pads on my fingers. Can lift over 10 tons, at one moment, though for a short period of time. The side effects of overusing the Quirk include dizziness and nausea.

‘That was pretty easy!’ Ochako thought to herself, realizing that her intuition was telling her the complete opposite. Still, she found the strength in herself to hit the submit button.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a surrogate and helping the society. Your form was received. We may or may not contact you in the near future.

“It is what it is.” said Ochako, looking at her screen and reading the short note provided. Hearing back wasn’t guaranteed and the near future might mean tonight, or two months, her savings could only cover for her parent’s expenses, maybe for two weeks, so Ochako still really needed to start looking for any safe and reliable stripper clubs nearby. She grabbed the chocolate mochi she bought from breakfast. ‘Stress Eating really is the best way to relax’

The loud noise coming from the outside snapped Ochako out of her thoughts and as she looked up from her screen to the door few feet in front of her, she saw a pair of mesmerizing mismatched colored eyes, which, after a millisecond on eye-contact, left just as fast as they appeared.

Ochako jumped up from her seat and ran outside. The cold November air hit her straight in the face. How didn’t she realize? Mina had been talking about Shouto returning for a month now! As someone severely disconnected from the Hero world because of her past, even Ochako knew the youngest pro-hero in the top 20! Looking in the direction Shouto went, she saw him, unfazed, walking fast and not paying any attention to paparazzi, stopping from time to time to take pictures with civilians.

‘Mina is going to be so jealous’

“And girls, that's how I met Todoroki Shouto.”

“That’s it?” Mina asked, laying on her friend’s couch, “Ochako, you just met Japan’s most eligible bachelor! You had the chance of your lifetime! Why didn’t you go after him, bat your eyelashes and make him fall in love with you! We could have gone to so many cool parties!”

“Mina, that might be too much, but why didn’t you ask for his autograph? I know you already have All Might's, and it would be a nice addition to your collection, not to mention it’s expensive, and if push comes to shove you can always sell it.”

“I could and I should have,” Ochako answered as she applied her lipstick “But I didn’t move because he was already surrounded by a sea of people, and I was working. Of course, I couldn’t leave the coffee shop to go wait for him!”

“He was too handsome and you just couldn’t handle seeing it up close, could you?”

“Okay Mina, I couldn’t ignore my responsibilities and he was too handsome to speak to.”

“Speaking of handsome,” Asui said, “Tokoyami and I are planning on spending Christmas together at my parents’ place.”

“That’s great Asui, he hasn’t met your parents yet, has he?”

“No, Mina he hasn’t and we have been dating six months now, just been waiting for the right moment.”

“Congrats you two!” Squeaked Ochako as she stood up from her chair and joined her two friends into a big group hug.

“Ochako, if you continue lying here, not only will you be late on your little date, but also ruin your makeup, which me and Asui oh so hard tried to perfect.”

“Okay, okay,” laughed Ochako, “I’m getting up. Oh, and by the way, I’m not going on a date.”

“Then where are you going wearing a form-fitting dress and a full-make, which screams I’M SEXY.” - Mina stood up and started doing some poses.

“Mina, you know I can’t tell you that, but believe me when I say that in a few months you will almost die of laughter, and I will have a unique experience to look back on!”

“Since when are you, Uraraka Ochako, the worst liar in the whole fucking world, keeping secrets from us, your guardian angels?”

“As it seems Mina, from today.”

Mina, feigning to have taken a bullet straight to her heart, fell back down to her bed.

“Just be careful, Chakochip, and remember - ”

“Yes, I know, I know,” interrupted Ochako, “If I don’t call by midnight, I have been kidnapped and probably killed.”

Ochako closed the door, as she felt her friend’s serious gaze on her shoulders.

“Tsu is in a long-term committed relationship, about to be married.” a pause “Ochako is going on dates wearing my makeup, while keeping me in the dark. Being on the aroace spectrum has never been this hard”

Hearing this from the outside, Ochako smiled and internally embraced herself. In half an hour she would be having the weirdest interview in order to become a stripper.

‘Black rhythms’ was located near the train station, which was one of the reasons Ochako decided to go there first, as short commute meant more time of sleep, which she wouldn’t be having much of in the following weeks. Despite all of this, the bar was hidden deeply in back streets and Alleyways. It was 5:00 p.m. and the sun was already setting. Still, Ochako liked Fall (truth be told she liked all of the four seasons) because of its colors, which the city seemed to be clearly lacking.

Ochako grew up in a small town, surrounded by nature and could never get used to the grayness of city life. Thankfully, her university was located in the suburbs and had a beautiful campus, full of trees, unlike the streets she was walking down on. Everything seemed monoton for a while and as Ochako was getting worried about being late, she noticed a big, not so subtle sign.

Black rhythms

It was glowing in red, and a big picture of a naked lady with stockings was right beside it, looking right at Ochako, inviting her in. Little did she know that the last thing Uraraka wished was to open that door. Of course she wasn’t strong enough to be a stripper, she had never even been to a strip club as a customer.

‘But, it’s either this, or my degree and all the hard-work I put in will go down the drain.’ Ochako thought as she wiped her sweaty palms on her black dress. ‘Besides, this will only continue a couple of weeks, just enough so that everything back at home is taken care of.’ With the newly-found determination in her, Ochako felt as ready as ever to step into the bar.

She felt the smell of Alcohol and feminine perfume hit her in the face, before she registered what she was seeing: A huge bar, with countless bottles and a tall barman, smirking, pouring drinks and conversing freely, the currently unoccupied stage with lights and several silver, shiny poles and sofas around it with mostly men sitting in them. Looking like a lost puppy, Ochako decided to make her way over to the bar.

“Hi, um, hello.” Ochako told the barman after finally getting his attention. “My name is Urarara Ochako and I am here for the-”

“Oh you’re the new stripper, aren’t ya?”

“Um, I-I, well I am here for the interview.”

“Relax, miss Uraraka, there is no interview here, now that I have seen you!”

“Th-thank you?”

“You’re welcome, your hourly wage will be 3000 yen, and the tips of course you can keep. When are ya ready to start working?”

“Won’t I need some lessons? This is my first time being a stripper.”

“Don’t ya worry, here strippers get artistic freedom, as long as, of course, it satisfies the customers.”

This worried Ochako even more, since dancing and anything artistic was never her forte, but still she had a hidden card up her sleeve, her quirk.

“Can I think about it for a little bit, and call later to talk more in detail?”

“Of course, just remember that if you decide to become a member of the Black Rythmes family you will get an unlimited number of free drinks.” he said, as he cleaned a newly-washed glass. “and as a potential one, here is the Classic Bellini Cocktail on the house. You are also welcome to stay and get the feel of the atmosphere here, watch the show, which should start in about,” he paused as he looked behind him at the clock. 5:17 pm. “3 minutes”

“How did you know Bellini was my favorite?”

“I have my ways, miss”

That’s exactly how she ended up sipping her cocktail on a sofa, in the back row watching a woman move like water, and Ochako suddenly understood the value of overpriced drinks and the big audience, which was gathering. Still she felt fidgety as she watched a naked person dancing, even if a few feet away, as she was more of a let’s-stay-home-and-talk-about-why-Uno-is-the-best-game-ever. And finally, just when she was starting to get comfortable and hot under her skin because of the alcohol, a familiar blonde hair and a pair of blue eyes appeared.

Damn.

Was Ochako fucked or was her mind playing tricks on her. Was that Neito Monoma, that boy who was too arrogant to greet her, even though they have been going to the same lectures for the past three years, having some shared friends even, that boy, who after finding out that Ochako snuck in an alcoholic beverage in the first year (It was a bet, and she never backed out. No Regrets.) went straight to the Campus Director, without consulting her, just to make himself seem more likable? Hearing his obnoxious and loud laughter, she was sure now and needed to get out as soon as possible.

If Neito was to find out about her potential job, her whole friend group would know, which wouldn’t be that bad, as being a stipper is an honest and legal way to make money (though, It would definitely cause some pity looks filled with worry, which she hated). However Neito finding out also meant professors and all the campus faculty being informed, which might or might not lead to her parents calling her in the middle of the night panicking.

After quickly chugging down the cocktail (might have been a mistake), Ochako quickly got up from her sofa, and as quietly and quickly as possible, thanked the barman, whose name she didn’t ask or forgot, and swiftly left, not knowing that the pair of blue eyes she so wanted to avoid followed her.

It was 6:07 pm and the sky was already pitch-black.

‘What was I thinking? Black Rhythm is a popular bar, of course someone I knew was going to be here,’ - Ochako pulled her coat tighter around her body - ‘Should I look for a more discreet bar, but then again, safety and anonymity as well as the pay is important…’

After going back and forth for a few minutes, Ochako decided to clear her mind, and what better way to do that than walk around the city and breathe in the (probably not) fresh and cold air. But, of course, how could she forget Asui.

“Hi Chakochip, How are yo-?”

“How did the date go?” - Mina’s yelling could be heard in the background.

“I’m fine Tsu, don’t worry. And tell Mina it was not a date and while it started out great, I had some unwanted company in the end, so I won’t be doing that again. What are you doing?”

“Tokoyami just bought pizzas, so we are eating that while watching Starstru-”

“Starstruck? Without me?”

“That’s what you get for not telling us about your little date.” Mina yelled in the background.

“Tsu, tell Mina it was not a date”

“Even if I do, will it change anything?”

“Eh, probably not.”

“Don’t worry Ochako. if this date didn’t work out, it means they weren’t the one.”

“Even you Tsu?” responded Ochako dramatically, wiping her fake tears.

“Don’t worry, we will save some pizza for you!”

“No, we won’t.”

“Yes, we will. Don’t listen to MIna.”

“Thank you, Asui, I’m starv-” a girl, with visible fear in her eyes and shaky hands quickly, came almost out of thin air and bumped into her shoulder.

“You alright, darling?” Darling? Since when did Ochako start using that word? Mina was clearly influencing her as of late.

The girl momentarily froze, slightly nodded and continued her fast-paced walk.

“Ochako, hey Ochako? Can you hear me?” Asui’s voice could be heard from her phone.

“Yeah, yeah. Sorry. A girl just bumped into me. As I was saying, I’m starving, haven’t eaten anything after that chocolate mochi at the coffee shop today. What part of the movie are you watching right now?”

“We just started. As you know-” Another weird man quickly passed her, without taking a glance at her. His eyes were on the girl in front. Ochako’s intuition (her hero senses, as her parents used to call it) told her that the girl was in danger ”-haven’t met yet. If you hurry, you might make it before the finale”

“Oh great, Asui, but I think fresh air will do me some good, you know, because of the stress from my thesis, so don’t wait for me. Okay? Tell Mina I won’t forget the betrayal just so she knows.”

“Is you keeping a secret from us not a betrayal?” Mina’s voice could be heard from the background.

“Okay, Ochako, be careful and text me when you’re back at the dorm.”

“All right. Bye Tsu!”

Right after hanging up, Ochako quickly dialed another number.

“911, what’s your emergency?”

“I just saw a girl, looking too scared to talk, who might be followed by a strange man.”

“Your location, Miss?”

“Let me see… It's Deadbolt Alley, near the train station, a few hundred meters away from the ‘Black Rhythm’ ” - said Ochako quickly as she made a sharp turn, going in the direction where she last saw the man head towards.

“Your name and surname, please”

“Ochako Uraraka”

“Can you describe the girl’s appearance?”

“She was no older than sixteen.” Ochako quickened her pace, but she was still all alone. “Long black, straight hair with a white plain t-shirt and-” She saw them. Ochako finally saw them. But as it turns out the men already caught up to the girl. “Sorry, I, um, I need to go. Just saw them and will try to-to help her”

“Wait, Miss uraraka don-”

Ochako quietly put her phone in her bag and came up with a plan. The man was armed and she needed to swiftly deal with him. She quickly made her way to the dumpster crawling, picking up the little stones right next to the trash. Ochako activated her quirk on them and threw one at the guy’s neck, while the other one towards the opposite side, to distract him.

Finally letting go of the crying girl’s hand, the man turned around in the wrong direction, and Ochako managed to quickly jump up from behind the trash bin and activate her quirk, without realizing flying the man thirty meters high in a blink of an eye, but all of that could wait. Ochako first looked at the crying girl, and smiled.

“Don’t worry, you are safe now.” The girl continued to cry, but her shivering had calmed down considerably.

Ochako looked up at the dark sky to make sure he was still there. Slowly she floated herself until she could see that the man had passed out. ‘Weak’ - she thought proudly to herself as she landed softly, taking the gun from the unconscious man’s belt, holding his wrist tightly.

“It’s okay now, can you stand up? Let's get to the police station, there will be people there to help you.” Ochako said, while trying to support the girl’s weight, with the arm around the waist. She doubted, but there was still a possibility that the creepy guy had friends around, ready to help, but as it turns out, they didn’t need to walk as she could already hear the police sirens. The weight of the girl suddenly decreased, and as Ochako turned around to check on her, a new pair of eyes were looking at her.

‘I have met Shouto Todoroki twice today already, this is the part when Mina comes in and says these coincidences might be fate’

“Are you Ochako Uraraka?”

“Yes, sir!”

Shouto, hearing this, noded and slowly lifted the little girl up to safely take her to the ambulance, which was approaching.

“You are miss Uraraka, right?”

“I am.”

“I’m detective Grayson, please follow us to the police station, we will need your statement for further investigation”

“Of course, what about the girl? Will she be-”

“She will be fine, miss Uraraka. She will be checked for any injuries and will join us at the station, if she is unharmed, of course. This way please… Can you also let go of the criminal and deactivate what I assume is your quirk?... Thank you.”

It was already 01:00 am and Ochako was tired. No matter how much she liked to socialize, she also had a limit and answering the same but differently worded questions was never fun, especially if it was done after her bedtime, in a dark room with a lamp, meant to terrify people. Suddenly the force of her day was laying on her and she wanted nothing more than to be in a fetal position on her bed, sleeping.  That’s exactly how she felt after leaving the questioning room as she passed Shouto. ‘His turn now, I guess’.

However, before she could make her way down the hall, Ochako stopped and turned around.

“Mr. Shouto, can I please get your autograph?”

The pro-hero looking straight into her eyes noded and wrote something on the paper, which he gave to Ochako.

🍥

From Shouto,

To Uraraka Ochako.

Looking down, Ochako couldn’t quite tell what Todoroki had drawn for, it was round and brown. ‘Is it a drawing of a poop?’ she thought, while looking around, expecting to see the hero walking away from her, but Shouto was looking at her and just before getting in the interview room mouthed something

‘Mo-chi’ Ochako repeated.

Oh.

‘Damn, maybe I do need to start a collection of pro-heros’ autographs.’ Ochako thought as she took the seat next to Tamaki, the girl she helped a few hours ago.

“How are you feeling, Tamaki?”

“Fine, well as good as one can be in this sit-situation… and thank you miss Uraraka for saving m-me.”

“You already thanked me, and I already said you are welcome, and please just call me Ochako, I’m not that old!” Tamaki smiled. “Will someone you know come here to pick you up?”

“Yes my mother will, though her sh-shift ends in a few hours, so I-I will probably be here for a bit.”

“Nice! I’ll wait with you here too, keep you company.”

“You don’t need to do that, miss- Ochako. I’m fine.”

“Honestly, I don’t want to go home yet. Besides, tomorrow, well technically today, is Sunday, and Ochako’s number one rule, if you aren’t aware of it, is no lectures on weekends!”

It was around 5 o’clock in the morning when Tamaki left with her mom, and Ochako finally got on the train to go home, when she remembered. Tsu. ‘I was supposed to text her when I got home, wasn’t I?’ thought Ochako, as she looked for her phone in the bag. ‘I mean technically I didn’t forget, I just stayed out. Damn… has this black dress always been so uncomfortable?’

Finally, after what felt like ages, she found and unlocked it.
