Chapter Text
“You know you can’t be in here.” You voiced, eyes focused on the Math textbook in front of you as you tried to finish the equations that were given out as homework. Apparently, Shinsou had decided to go and sneak into your dorm room in the dead of night after curfew check. You didn’t know how he always managed to do it since you were part of 1-A and him in 1-C of the General Department.
“And you know you should be asleep. Guess we’re both breaking the rules.” He retorted back, lazily stretching like a cat who thinks it pays the bills, as he laid on your bed with his arms behind his head. Tried eyes bore themselves at the back of your head with their usual blank stare.
“I’m still surprised you haven’t been caught yet. You remember what happened when you snuck in last time.”
He visibly shivered when the memory was brought up. Granted this happened when you both were 10 and agreed to have a secret sleepover at your place once your parents were asleep. Just when you both thought you’d get away with it, your adoptive father, Aizawa, barged into your room to see you both cuddled and huddled up with each other. What scared him was the look the older man had on his face.
To say the least, neither one of your parents were happy about what happened.
“Shut up.” He muttered.
A giggle erupted from you as you stood from your desk, closing your textbook and notebook before walking over and sitting down next to him. “Admit it, you were scared shitless.” You tease, grinning with that annoyingly cute grin that made his heart skip a beat.
He felt you lay down next to him, the weight of your head on his chest as you curled into him. He rolled his eyes with a soft smile on his lips, having been used to your affections for years now. “Comfy there, kitten?”
“Very.”
He wrapped his arms around you, even turning on his side so he could cuddle you properly. A comfortable silence enveloped the room, the only sounds being the soft music coming from your playlist that you forgot to turn off. Shinsou looked down at you, your arms around his waist and face buried in the crook of his neck. If anyone were to see this, they’d be saying that you guys were dating.
It was obvious, too obvious, that you both liked each other. It’s been as plain as day since daycare. Even a few of your classmates have asked you both “When are you guys going on a date?” Or “How come neither of you confessed yet?” Heck, even Bakugou joined in on it saying to stop being a coward and make a move already.
Not even a few days ago did Midoriya ask him, “Everyone knows that you both like each other. Why haven’t you asked her out yet?” He didn’t know why. Maybe it was fear of rejection? Ruining your friendship? Maybe the fear that he was reading too much into how affectionate and touchy you were just for it to turn out that you didn’t feel the same way?
He’s tried asking you out before but never had the courage to and he doubts that you even caught on with what he was trying to do with how oblivious you could be to these sorts of things. But maybe, just maybe, now would be the perfect time.
His fingers gently brushed a few strands of hair behind your ear, his knuckles caressing the rosy skin of your cheek. He took in a quiet breath.
“[Name]?..”
“Hm?”
He pressed a soft kiss on your forehead, leaning his head down to whisper in your ear. “What would you say if I asked you out on a date?” He felt your head pull away from his neck, his eyes meeting your own. You always had this innocent glint to your eyes that could lure anyone in. The slight curl of your lips had his heart skipping a beat. “Is this an actual ‘what if’ question or are you really asking me out?”
”Just answer, please.” The soft palm of your hand made contact with his cheek, your fingers brushing the small tufts of his hair behind his ear. That sweet smile on your lips was already an answer enough. With a gentle peck to his lips, you pulled away just enough to whisper against his lips. ”Yes, I’ll go out with you.”
