The History of Managed Democracy, Annotated

Summary:

What does managed democracy mean to the citizens of SuperEarth? What are they required to think of it and its history?

If you are a massive weirdo like me and deeply interested in those questions, excerpts from this book from the archives of Cyberstan might interest you.

Notes:

This work will inevitably contain politics up to the modern day. This is your only warning.

The main inspiration for this thing have been academic works published in the Soviet bloc prior to 1989 - they have a very specific way in which they are structured and their arguments made to always support the party line that is stylistically unique to them. Three main books were the translation of the chronicles of VIllani and ibn Battuta and Durdik's Hussite Warfare.

The support of party line in spite of truth is not unique to anyone - just ask the UK and USA about what Operation Keelhaul was all about (do bring vast amount of chocolate and anti-depressants if you google that).

While there is no explicit detail of government oppression, this book will be haunting in its implications if I did my job right - and while we do have an opposing view to SuperEarth in the borg annotations, the Cyberstani are just as biased in their own way, so there is a distinct lack of good people here as well.

If any of this sounds like not your cup of tea, this is your last chance to leave.

The domination of fascist autocracy wearing the guise of alleged democracy has been an unfortunate reality of the human race for the past two centuries – this book is a direct product of such and a tool of propaganda. The purpose of our edition is clear – to de-program those intelligent or desperate enough to leave the SuperEarth, we must first understand the lens and blinders they are forced to view themselves with.
