Work Text:

Kazuya stirred awake, his sleeping mask still blinding him. He slowly took off his sleeping mask, greeted with a bright glare from the window, his left arm numb. He looked over, seeing the sleeping beauty in front of him. Eijun was still dead asleep, his head still resting against Kazuya’s chest, little snores coming out of his mouth as he was drooling, puddling up Kazuya’s shirt with saliva.

He lightly scoffed at the sight, chuckling to himself, not caring about the drool that was now staining his shirt. Kazuya pulled Eijun closer, sniffing the floral scent shampoo from Eijun’s soft hair, fidgeting with the locks between his fingers.

Eijun groaned, shifting his body in Kazuya’s arm as he was now faced away from Kazuya’s sight, his back facing Kazuya, falling right back asleep. He couldn’t help but form a smile on his face. Kazuya looked at the clock; reading nine fifteen A.M, he slowly got out of bed, trying his hardest not to wake up Eijun who was still snoring as he drooled on the pillow.

Kazuya isn't usually a morning person, usually waking up later than Eijun. But sometimes, in rare moments like these, he wakes up before Eijun does; admiring how peaceful Eijun looks as he is sleeping, being able to adore the features on his face.

He walked out of the shared bedroom, looking over his shoulder to get one last look at Eijun before he could make breakfast. Kazuya proceeded in the kitchen, starting to fry some eggs as he heated up the leftover miso soup in the microwave from the previous day. As he finished cooking the eggs, he made his every day coffee, sipping the liquid in the process of setting up the table. He heard the bedroom door creak open, looking towards the direction of the noise.

Eijun was standing in front of the doorway, a blanket on top of his body as he was still in Kazuya’s shirt, slightly revealing his collarbones, rubbing one of his eyes roughly; still adjusting to the bright light shining through the apartment.

“Someone’s finally awake.” Kazuya chuckled, sipping on his coffee. Eijun walked towards Kazuya sluggishly, dragging the blanket on the floor. Eijun hugged Kazuya’s waist, his head resting against the rook of Kazuya’s neck, closing his eyes as he embraced the warmth from his body. Kazuya placed down the mug filled with coffee, hugging Eijun back, both of his arms clasping onto Eijun’s neck.

Kazuya moved his arm towards Eijun’s back, his hand moving in circular motion in comfort. “It was cold without you.” Eijun murmured as he pouted, his face was covered as it was buried in Kazuya’s chest. He snickered, Eijun feeling the vibrations, “Aw, did you miss me?” He squeezed Eijun tighter, in an attempt to irritate him, in which he succeeded. “Shut up!” Eijun pulled away from Kazuya’s body, going cat eyed. Kazuya laughed loudly at the sight of Eijun who was balling up his fists.

“Hurry up, the food is going to get cold.” Kazuya ruffled his hand against Eijun’s hair, making his bed head even worse than before. “Also, stop getting that blanket dirty.” He snatched the blanket off of Eijun’s shoulders. “Hey! I told you, it was cold.” Eijun nibbled on his lip as he  obediently walked towards the kitchen table, admiring the food. “Do you want me to turn up the heat?” Kazuya looked at Eijun, sitting at the table. “No!” Eijun quickly replied, Kazuya raised an eyebrow. “You know, I don’t mind turning up the heat.” Eijun shook his head aggressively, “I’m sure!”

Eijun giggled, “I don’t feel cold now, since you’re here.” As he was about to dig into the food right in front of him, Kazuya swiftly walked towards Eijun, grabbing his face softly as he leaned in, placing his lips onto his. Eijun didn’t budge as he let Kazuya take over him, their lips moving in a rhythmic manner, Eijun slightly smiling in between their kisses as he tasted the bitterness of the coffee on Kazuya’s lips.

As they break apart, breathing heavily; saliva still connected to their lips. Kazuya smiled, as he caressed his cheek with his thumb, “You’re such a sap.” He kissed Eijun one more time as he sat across from him, ready to consume the food displayed on the table.

“Be quiet, Miyuki Kazuya!” Eijun scowled at Kazuya, “I learned from the best! Haha!” He laughed loudly.

“Your shoujo manga that you’ve been paying more attention to lately than me?” Kazuya took a bite of his rice as he raised an eyebrow, slightly tilting his head.

Eijun let out a small huff, “Don’t say that! I pay plenty of attention towards you!” He shoved an egg in his mouth. “Yeah, yeah. Chew properly!”

As they soon finished their breakfast, Eijun made his way to wash the dishes, putting on his apron that Kazuya got him when he first moved into the apartment. Eijun hummed softly while he was scrubbing the dishes, Kazuya sneaked behind him as he suddenly hugged Eijun; making him squeal, almost dropping the dish that he was holding.

“Kazuya! Don’t do that!” He went cat eyed, whipping his head to look at Kazuya as he was still hugging him from behind. “Always teasing me when I'm busy!” Kazuya laughed, putting his head down onto Eijun’s right shoulder, finding comfort in holding onto the smaller figure.

“Okay, okay. I’ll leave you alone.” Kazuya released his arms around Eijun’s waist, “For now.” His tone was sarcastic, wiggling his eyebrow at him. He walked to the living room as he slumped down on the couch, turning on the television.

As soon as Eijun was done with the dishes, he walked over to Kazuya, flopping down next to him. He brought the blanket up on his body, shifting his body so his head rested against Kazuya’s thighs. Kazuya brought his hand down, one arm hanging onto Eijun’s body as the other hand was playing with Eijun’s hair.

They both had the weekend off, meaning they had more time together. “Eijun, do you want to go anywhere today?” He looked at Eijun, only able to see part of his side profile. Eijun hummed in response, “No, not really… I just want to cuddle with you.” He mumbled the last part, the T.V overpowering Eijun’s voice.

“Did you say something?” Kazuya stopped playing with Eijun’s hair, leaving his hand there. Eijun looked up at Kazuya, his face slightly turning pink. “I just said, I want to cuddle with you.” Eijun looked away as he spoke, too embarrassed to face Kazuya.

Kazuya’s mouth split into a grin, “You’re so cute. We can watch one of your romance dramas.” Eijun suddenly looked at him, his eyes beaming with excitement as he gasped, “I’ll go get my laptop right now!” He hurriedly rushed off into their shared bedroom, leaving Kazuya alone on the couch.

As he was left alone on the couch, his eyes paneled around the living room, his eyes laid on the two medals that were hanging on the wall. It was the same medals they’ve won after defeating Inashiro, it was a precious moment for both of them. Kazuya reminisced about the time he hugged Eijun for the first time, how he loved the warmth, the comfort within his arms.

It was also the time where they both shared their feelings about each other, where they shared their last few months playing high school baseball together.

Eijun came back with his laptop, catching Kazuya staring at the wall. “What are you thinking so hard for?” He sat down, setting up the laptop on the coffee table. “I was just thinking about the time where we won against Inashiro.” Kazuya looked at Eijun who was busy setting the laptop to the television. “Hm? That was so long ago!”

“Yeah, it’s been three years since.” Kazuya let out a small chuckle, “But I was also thinking about the time we shared each other’s feelings because of that hug.” Eijun gazed at Kazuya, his eyes starting to glisten. “It just reminded me how much I never wanted to let you go.” Kazuya smiled to himself, “I’m glad you came to Seido.” He shifted his focus on Eijun.

“I know I don’t express much about how I feel about you, I’m sorry.” Kazuya laid his hand on Eijun’s cheek, making Eijun look at him. Eijun started to feel stinging in his eyes, tears streaming down his cheek, Kazuya wiping his tears away.

“I love you, Eijun.”

Eijun grabbed Kazuya’s face with both hands as he leaned in, Kazuya’s glasses shifting from the contact. Their lips intertwined with each other, both of them taking their time with each kiss as they tasted each other’s lips. As they pulled away slowly, their eyes met.

He toppled over Kazuya, sitting on top of him as Kazuya gave pecks on Eijun’s cheek, both of them letting out small giggles, tackling each other.

“I love you too, Kazuya.” He smiled brightly.
