Wasteland, baby

Summary:

They walked slowly, Loki’s hand resting on Mobius’ arm, like a couple in a period drama, which he supposed, they technically were. Kind of. The contact was driving him insane, but still, he rested his own hand on top of her gloved one, relishing even further in the texture of the silk against his bare skin, and the warmth of her hand seeping through it.

Lokius have a silly little date and some things happen

Notes:

Don't ask me what point in canon this is supposed to be bc idk, but tbh it does NOT matter.
I was listening to Wasteland, baby! on repeat while writing this and I want you to know that.

Work Text:

London, England. 1878.

They had been assigned a week to find and control the variant in Victorian London. They found her in 3 days, and seeing as there was no use in going back to the TVA, especially as it was the first time in a long time that Loki had been in their female form, they were going to make use of their extra time.

The variant was being held in a holding cell until the end of the week when they would bring him back to the TVA. Meanwhile, Loki and Mobius were going to go visit some landmarks and places to eat. Loki loved the ones where they could dress up and be in a female body for once. Right now, she was relishing in wearing all the fancy clothes and keeping up the pretence of being a married rich couple. Mobius didn’t know how any of this stuff worked, but Loki did, do he figured that he didn’t need to do anything more than sit there pretending to be Loki’s husband. Not that he’d mind actually being her husband. But that was something he’d unpack another day.

She was sat across from him, looking insanely gorgeous as she always does, just looking through the menu of the restaurant they were in, and it drove him crazy. Because right now they were on a date, but Loki had phrased it like it was a fake date, a reason for them to be out in public together. But if she had just meant for it to be a reason to be out in public, wouldn’t she have said they were related? And surely, she wouldn’t have taken them to such a romantic restaurant.

It was Victorian London, everything was candlelit and at least vaguely romantic, but this was more somehow. Mobius couldn’t place what about the restaurant that it was exactly, it could very well just be the fact that he was there with Loki, but it seemed more romantic anyhow.

“What are you ordering?” His musings were interrupted by the subject of them.

“Hm? Oh, I was just gonna have whatever you have.” In all honesty, he had not read a single word of that menu, but was it his fault when Loki looked like that?

She was wearing the most beautiful dress he had ever seen, a simplistic green gown, with black and gold details, and he sees why she wears green so often. It makes her eyes look so much more vibrant than usual, and because they’re always so pretty anyway, the colour makes them shine almost. She’s just so pretty.

“Oh, alright. You can’t complain if you don’t like it though.” She warns him, a light teasing tone in her voice.

His favourite thing about Loki’s female form was her voice. He couldn’t describe it if he tried, but it was gorgeous. Hearing it was like a drug to him, and he couldn’t get enough.

“I find it hard to believe that I’d dislike anything you gave me.” He replied, emboldened by… well, he wasn’t entirely sure what, but he was emboldened, nonetheless.

She didn’t reply to that, just looked up at him with a slight questioning look, and looked down at the menu again, maybe half a shade redder than she was a second ago. Which was another thing that he adored about her female form, she blushed so easily like this, it was addictive. It made him want to flirt with her all day long, just to see how it affected her. She was so easy to… bother, she always was, but it was so much more fun when he could physically see that it was bothering her.

Their waiter came over then, and she ordered for the both of them. The waiter looked to Mobius, clearly a little confused as to why a woman was ordering, but he paid him no mind because it really didn’t matter, realistically.

Mobius had absolutely no idea what she had ordered, because he was easily distracted, and Loki was so beautiful. He realised how pathetically soppy he was sounding but couldn’t bring himself to care, because again, she was so beautiful.

“What are you thinking?” He asked her, noticing that she seemed a little out of it.

She breathed out a laugh and shook her head slightly, “I was just thinking that it took me pretending that it was a pretence to get the courage to ask you on a date with me.”

Oh. Oh

Was she trying to kill him? She was succeeding, anyway, if she was.

“I would’ve said yes no matter how you asked me.” He admitted, because he would have.

“That’s quite comforting, actually. Thank you,” she said, looking more bashful than he would’ve ever expected her to, on account of her being a literal god. “at least we’ll have a lot to talk about once we get back to the hotel.”

“We always have a lot to talk about, don’t we?” he smiled at her, slightly teasing because why the hell not.

“You know exactly what I mean, don’t pretend to be stupid now.” She smiled back at him, and it just about knocked him out, in fact he was 97% sure he was blushing so hard he’d have no chance of blaming it on the heat of the room.

“Who says I’m pretending?”

“Me.”

“Oh, really?” He was really quite happy with where this was going, but they didn’t get a chance to continue it just yet because the waiter arrived with their food, that looked frankly delicious. He still had no idea what it was, of course, and didn’t feel particularly inclined to ask, either.

The rest of their meal passed in relative silence, other than a few comments on their food, and after they had paid, they began their walk to their hotel.

They walked the ten-minute walk in complete silence, but it wasn’t awkward. It never was with her, even if they were mad at each other. Silences were never uncomfortable between them.

Once they got up to the door of their hotel room, Loki removed her hand from his arm to allow him to unlock the door for them, and when he did, he held it open for her to go through first like a proper gentleman should.

He brushed his hand down her arm as he followed her through the door, holding onto her fingers and closing it behind him with his free hand. Once the door was closed, Mobius felt himself being pushed against it, more gently than he thought was possible, and then he had Loki’s lips pressed against his own. He had a suspicion that the only reason they were against this wall was because she thought he might collapse from shock. And if it was, she was absolutely right. Her lips were so unbelievably soft, moving against his, it was hard to believe that this was the very same person who had killed eighty people in two days not so long ago.

After what could’ve been ten seconds or ten minutes, they broke apart, breathing much more heavily than they had been before they closed that door.

“I’ve been wanting to do that for quite a while.” She admitted, not letting go of him.

“What a coincidence, so have I.” he replied.

She kissed him again, harder this time, and he began to manoeuvre them through the room, removing the pins from her hair at the same time. Once he had the last pin out, he pushed his hands up into her hair and walked them the final few steps to the bed.

Mobius took a step back, taking in her kiss swollen lips and messy hair for a few moments and then moved to stand behind her. He gathered her hair in his hands and swept it over her shoulder before ducking his head to kiss her neck. He continued working at her neck for a minute or so and began to unbutton her dress. One by one he undid the buttons on that gorgeous dress until it slipped off her body, leaving her in just her corset and underskirts.

He slid his hands down her arms to reach down to undo the ribbons of her corset.

“You’re the most incredibly beautiful person I’ve ever seen,” he mumbled between kisses, still working at her corset, slowly loosening it.

At that, Loki turned around, her eyes darker than he had ever seen them, and captured his mouth in hers once again, and Mobius knew he never wanted her to stop.
