Cameron leaned against the wall of their campus ground while she was waiting for her girlfriend. Her intimidating look was shattered the moment Madelaine showed up right next to her, a bright smile on her face and a stack of papers tucked under her arm.
"Good morning, love. Do you mind if you help me with my things?" Madelaine asked. Her face shows that she was sturggling with the papers already.
"Oh, yes! Of course, hon." Cameron answered. "Let me get that," and she gently grabbed the pile of papers.
The hallway became silent as they passed by. Whispers followed them like shadows, and Cameron pretended not to notice the students, keeping her gaze fixed firmly ahead. Madelaine, on the other hand, she simply waved and greets at everyone they passed, her being the ray ball of sunshine in stark contrast to Cameron's dark apperance.
"There they are," said by someone who was standing behind them. Cameron rolled her eyes, she already knew it was their annoying friends. She turn around to see their friends, grinning like some idiots.
"Good morning to our power couple!" Sharpay said, nudging Alexis playfully. "Still the same routine, huh? Cameron, the fierce protector, and Madelaine, the radiant sunshine."
Cameron snorted. "I was just being a good girlfriend to her, what are you saying?" she replied.
"Oh, come on, Cams," Alexis teased, her voice with mock. "We all know how terrified the students are whenever you are walking alone at the campus hallway. Then whenever Madie is around, your mood would switch into a bright one."
Cameron glared at her, but Madelaine simply chuckled because of her girlfriend's reaction. She just thought it was cute how she reacted. "Don't worry, love. They're just jealous because they don't have such a cool girlfriend like you."
Cameron couldn't help but crack a smile at what her girlfriend had said. Madelaine could soothe even the most hardenest rock on earth. "Of course! I am, hon," Cameron mumbled, as her voice softened.
Sharpay mutter, seeing her friends being sweet to each other, "Will you guys stop it for once?"
While Janice and Alexis exchanged glances. "See? I told you, her Golden Retriever mode has been activated whenever her girlfriend is around." she whispered to Alexis.
Cameron glared at her two friends as she slapped Janice's arm. "I heard that, Janice! Shut up, you gremlin."
"Alright, girls," Madelaine said, clapping her hands once. "Stop teasing my girlfriend for now. I believe you three have classes to attend to, while Cameron and I have a lot of student council paperworks to finish."
"Right! See you later, girls!" Janice replied, as they bid goodbye to each other. Madeline linked arms with her girlfriend, a comfortable smile escaped from her lips.
Everyone knew that Cameron and Madelaine's relationship was an enormous one. They were complete opposites in every way, but their differences somehow clicked, forming an unwavering affection.
They are known as the power couple, after all.
