Work Text:
"Munchkin, mon ami, you remind me of blueberries," Marie muses, tiptoeing against Munchkin to take a good whiff off his collar. "You smell like one, too."
"...Thank you? Milady?" Munchkin mumbles, confused as Marie leans against him they almost look like they're about to kiss.
To Munchkin's dread, Jerry happens to pass by whistling, and upon seeing the two in such implicating positions, he gives Munchkin a blank stare (Munchkin gives one back, wary of the brown mouse's unpredictability).
It took moments of mental reinforcement before Munchkin coughs, asking: "Ahem, what business do you want with me, Jerry?"
At last, Jerry breaks down into laughter—he made kissy faces and other flowery poses, as if this is his way of taunting the guardsman; flustered, Munchkin chases away the snickering, cheeky rat. Marie was painfully oblivious however, and she's confused as to why Munchkin snaps and shoos the mute perpetrator away.
Upon seeing Munchkin's beet-red face as he turns to face her however, the Princess delightfully clasps her hands together. "Now you truly look like a blueberry! Mignon!" She exclaims rather cheerfully, but somehow managing to retain her elegant poise through it all.
To that, Munchkin sheepishly itches his reddish cheeks.
