Work Text:
“I don’t think this is what helping looks like, Alhaitham,” Kaveh whispered to the man who was determined to kiss every inch of his neck. Of course, Alhaitham ignored him, holding him firm in his arms as he placed slow, ardent kisses on Kaveh’s collarbones.
“Stop, someone might see us,” Kaveh tried to squirm his way out of Alhaitham’s grasp, but Alhaitham simply grunted and pulled him closer. He was much bigger, taller, and stronger than Kaveh now. When did that even happen? Kaveh still remembers when he used to be the taller one of the two.
“It’s after closing hours, no one will come in,” Alhaitham said, continuing to kiss the golden skin on Kaveh’s neck and shoulders as his hands softly trailed down his back. Kaveh sighed, letting Alhaitham do what he was doing as he continued to analyse the blueprints in front of him. Alhaitham was a huge distraction, but he could not complain. He has been preparing for his next project for the last two months and believes Alhaitham is feeling neglected by him. So much of their precious time together now goes to field visits, blueprints, and clients. So, Alhaitham is clingier than usual in their little quality time together.
Kaveh looks at the younger man attached to him like a pet, begging for attention through his eyes. People would sooner catch a stroke than believe that their illustrious, cold, and standoff-ish Grand Scribe is quite lovesick and adorable in reality. He giggled at the thought, catching Alhaitham’s mind.
“Why are you laughing?” Alhaitham asked.
Kaveh put his pen down and smiled. “I don’t think you want to help me work.”
“I am helping,” Alhaitham claimed, kissing the back of Kaveh’s ear and sliding away the disarray of papers and tools on the table. He pulled his senior up so he now sits on his lap, straddling him. Kaveh wordlessly let Alhaitham manhandle him, considering that it had been a while since they’d been so close and playful with each other. “You’re working too hard so I am helping you destress.”
Kaveh could not help but let out an amused chuckle, leaning down to place a small kiss on Alhaitham’s forehead. “Since when did the Grand Sage endorse such blatant procrastination?”
Alhaitham frowned but still rested his head on Kaveh’s shoulder. “I’m not promoting procrastination,” he said. “I just… miss you.”
Kaveh stilled, his fingers gently lacing through Alhaitham’s silver hair. Blunt honesty is expected from Alhaitham, but emotional vulnerability is hard to witness. Kaveh had been the only privileged person to see this side of him. So he relishes it. Kaveh cherishes these small moments of clarity between them. It is too precious, too important.
“What, did I mellow out the unyielding Scribe?” Kaveh jested. “My, what will people think?”
“I don’t care,” Alhaitham answered. “They can think whatever they want. I don’t care about anyone, but you.” He lifted his head and gazed into Kaveh’s scarlet eyes with resolute devotion. Kaveh was left dazed by the words spoken by his lover. Being with Alhaitham has never been easy for his heart. Sometimes he would be so invulnerable, too hard to reach. But at times like the present, he would be so malleable, so doting that it tugs on Kaveh’s heartstrings, sending him into a chaotic whirlwind of emotions.
Despite all that, Kaveh will not trade what he was with Alhaitham for anything in the world. No amount of fame and money will ever be enough to match Alhaitham.
“I missed you too,” Kaveh said, smiling lovingly, cupping Alhaitham’s face and kissing him delicately on the lips.
They both let themselves get lost in the feeling of each other, savouring the sweet delight of being in each other’s presence and thoughts. Alhaitham snakes his hand around Kaveh’s waist and pulls him even closer, kissing him deeper and faster. Kaveh wonders if he really has been so distant. But then again, he is guilty of often forgetting reality when he is deep into his work. So he lets Alhaitham devour him slowly, yet intensely.
Kaveh felt Alhaitham’s hand move up his thighs, grazing his clothed skin before cupping his behind and squeezing it. That is when he broke off the kiss in panic.
“We can’t– Not in the library !” Kaveh exclaimed.
“There’s no one here,” Alhaitham said, ever-so-innocently. Kaveh scoffed in dismay.
“Absolutely not, we’re getting too comfortable,” Kaveh said, preparing to get off his lap when Alhaitham held him back, his expression turning stubborn.
“But–” He began to negotiate before Kaveh put his finger on Alhaitham’s lips to shut him up.
“It’s not that I don’t want to,” he said, his face turning rosy at the admission. “But it’s still too early for nobody to come by. Also, I have taken a long enough break to destress.”
Alhaitham sighed in deject, making Kaveh feel sorry for him. But he won’t deny that he enjoyed Alhaitham so shamelessly craving for him. It is not something he gets to see every day. Truly, a marvel sight to hold.
“You know what I think?” Kaveh’s thoughts were interrupted by Alhaitham’s question. He tilted his head, waiting for Alhaitham to answer his own question.
“I think you look too fucking hot right now,” Alhaitham picked Kaveh up from his lap, standing up himself in the process, and put him down on the table with a loud thud. He crashed his lips against Kaveh’s before he could even fathom what was going on.
“ Wait –” was all Kaveh managed to say in between the kiss before Alhaitham hooked his legs around his waist and kissed him until he saw stars on the ceiling. He pulled and tugged on his lips desperately, stealing all his breath away, hands exploring Kaveh’s skin underneath his silk blouse. Kaveh forgot what was he even fighting for at this point. Alhaitham’s lips were like finely aged wine, and Kaveh was a thirsty traveller in need. He couldn’t help but entangle his slim fingers in his hair, pulling him closer and pacing him to match his own. But Alhaitham had been holding back for too long, and he savours Kaveh as if he were his last meal.
They had lost track of time, and Kaveh was forced to break apart before he passed out from making out alone.
“Alhaitham…” He mumbled, breathless and red, too weak to protest the following events. “You are ruining my reputation.”
Alhaitham smirked devilishly, his own face shining with arousal and desire. “Your reputation is not the only thing I’m going to ruin right now.”
