Chapter Text
She looked at the time, sighing. Dahyun should've already been there with the kids since half an hour ago.
Feeling impatient, the sound of a car outside could be heard. Sana exhaled feeling releved and got up to open the door.
Two kids got out of the car and ran to her.
"Mommy!" Hana hugged one of her legs while Yuta jumped on her wanting to be carried. A smiling Dahyun got out of the car and followed behind, carrying the kids' bags.
"How was your weekend?" Sana smiled. "I missed you so much."
"It was great, mommy. Omma took us to the mall and bought us-"
"Shut up, Yuta..." Hana warned, pushing her brother.
"What did she bought you?" Sana raised an eyebrow, suspicious. Dahyun stood in front of them, still holding the bags.
"I bought them a phone, Sana."
The japanese woman put her son down. Dahyun could see she didn't like the idea, and she was right. They were kids, kids don't need phones, Sana thought.
Dahyun waited for the scolding speech from her ex wife.
"Kids, say goodbye to your Omma, then go to your rooms."
The siblings looked at each other for a second before obeying their mother, saying goodbye to Dahyun before going sinde the house. The korean woman sighed knowng what was coming. She really wasn't on the mood to argue with Sana.
"What did we say about the phones, Dahyun?" Sana gave a serious look.
"I'm sorry, Sana-chan." Dahyun bit her lips when she said the name, that's how she used to call her when they were still together, kinda trying to get advantage of it.
"They're too young to have phones. They're six year olds!" Sana exclaimed, ignoring the apology.
"Yes, they're too young, but I think they need it." Dahyun crossed her arms. They stood there in the porch arguing again, like they always used to do.
"They're not going to use those phones in my house, Dahyun."
"This is my house too. We both bought it, remember?"
Sana sighed, with her hands on her temples. She wasn't in the mood.
"I'm the one who lives here now. We're divorced."
"I know we're. You don't have to remind me." Dahyun said.
"I've to because you don't seem to remember."
Dahyun looked at the brunette woman in front of her. Sana's eyes met hers, a firm gaze, but Dahyun knew her very well. She knew Sana felt nervous with them standing too close to each other now.
"I bought them a phone because I want to call them during the week and not having to call you when you're at work."
Sana closed her eyes for a moment. She did understand why Dahyun bought the phones, she must miss them a lot during the week.
"Come on, Sana..." Dahyun started. "They're my kids too. You don't undestand how hard it's to be away from them."
"Fine." The brunette said. "I'll let it pass, but if they get too distracted from school or influences their behavior then I'm taking them away."
Dahyun smiled, her sharp eyes making two lines to flash her a smile. Sana couldn't help but admire that same smile she still adores. The younger woman leaned to kiss her on the cheek.
"You're such a good mother, Sana-chan."
Sana made a face, but the korean just kept grinning and made her way back to her car. Sana refused to let Dahyun see her blush.

Sana looked at the big tree that was now adorning their living room. Mrs JaeHee was putting up the decoration with Hana as her little helper.
"Mom, I want to stay here all day with Nanny JaeHee." Said the little girl with her sweetest smile. She was just like Dahyun, trying to be charming just to get what they wanted.
"Not happening. You've school." Sana said in a serious tone. "You're going to be on winter break in two weeks anyway. Be patient."
Hana pouted and frowned. She was so used to her omma spoiling her, but Sana was way more hard to convice, she didn't fall for her charms.
"Mommy!" Yuta suddenly yelled. "Omma is here!"
Hana stood up from the couch and ran to the door, with her brother following behind. Dahyun was already waiting for them outside, leaning against her car. Sana tried to ignore how good the korean looked in her formal clothes, trying to remember she was still upset because of the phone thing.
Dahyun looked up when their daughter hugged her, and rised her eyebrows noticing the brunette wasn't wearing a bra under her robe, stealing her attention.
Sana didn't really mind. Nothing she hasn't seen before anyway. But she couldn't help to cross her arms when she noticed the smirk on Dahyun's face. If only she knew what she still causes in Sana. The older woman has tried for the last three years to stop feeling that way towards her ex but it didn't seem to work.
"It has been a while since I saw you in your pajamas."
"It has been a while since I saw you dressing so formal." Sana said back. Dahyun just chuckled and directed her attention to her son, hugging him tightly.
"Come on, it's getting late."
Hana held Dahyun's hand and got in the car, while Yuta took a moment to give a goodbye kiss to Sana on the cheek.
"Hana, won't you say goodbye to your mommy?" Dahyun questioned the little girl who seemed to not have intentions to do it.
"Let her, she's just upset." Sana said with a sigh.
"I've something to talk to you... about christmas." The korean was whispering now.
"Me too, but it has to be away from the kids."
"I will call you tonight, or can we have dinner together?"
"Fine. Dinner it's at eight. Come here after work."
Dahyun fixed her coat.
"I'm gonna try to be on time. I've a meeting today, there are gonna be some new doctors."
So that's why she was dressing so formal.
"Good luck then, Doc." Sana said. Dahyun let out a laugh, and kissed her on the cheek.
Yuta waved his hand through the window saying goodbye. Sana sent him a flying kiss. He was so kind and sweet, while Hana was a little more rebel. She reminded her of herself when she was that age. Her parents and grandmother had a hard time because of her, it wasn't till she became a teen till she finally found her optimistic personality.
Dahyun having dinner with them, or even lunch sometimes didn't bother her at all. She liked that she get to spend time with the kids, ignoring the fact that everytime Sana saw her, she would get those feelings that were still alive, but it didn't really matter because her children were more important. They loved spending time with Dahyun and she didn't want to stand in the way.
Sana would let her problems with her to the side. She understands the korean is always busy, she was a hardworker since always but sometimes she wouldn't have a limit. One of their biggest problems was Dahyun's workaholic behavior.
The day went by quickly, Sana also had tons of work, being able to only finish one design that day and then went home. The house was now more decorated than it was during the morning. The christmas tree had tons of lights around it, it looked very pretty.
Sana was surprised to find out that Dahyun was already there, her car was parked outside. She smiled thinking about how happy Hana and Yuta probably were.
The tired woman opened the door, and once she stepped in the living room, she was an image she had missed in the last few years. It was Dahyun with the kids. Yuta was resting against her, while Hana kept playing on the floor.
"Mommy!" Yuta exclaimed, running to hug her. Sana smiled seeing his bright eyes and hugged him tightly.
"How was school?"
"It was fine, Miss Kang gave me a sticker with a smiley face." He said happily, pointing to the sticker on his forehead.
"That's great, baby!"
Sana looked up and met Hana and Dahyun's eyes. She put down her purse and walked to them. Hana looked at her for a moment before looking away. She seemed still upset.
"Won't you give me a kiss, Hana-chan?" Sana asked. The little girl looked at her and then at Dahyun.
"Well, I'm gonna give you one then." Sana leaned down and kissed her daughter, moving her hands to tickle her.
"How was work?" Dahyun asked.
"Ugh, tiring. I've so many designs to finish. I'm realeasing a collaboration with Tiffany Hwang." She smiled.
"That's great, Sana. I'm very happy for you." Dahyun told her sincerly.
"Mrs Kim, dinner is ready." The cook announced. They made sure the children went to the table with them where some lasagna was waiting. Dinner went nicely, Sana spent most of the time just listening to the conversation between the kids and Dahyun. She would met the korean's eyes briefly before looking away and get lost in her thoughts. Sana was tired, all she wanted was to be on bed already but she still needed the kids to go to bed first, and then talk to Dahyun.
"Will we spend christmas together?" Hana suddenly asked. That was exactly what she wanted to talk about.
"Uhh, Well-"
"I think it's already late. You two should go to bed, go have school tomorrow and I don't want you to be late." Dahyun interrupted, saving her from the question. She gave her a thanful look. The kids whined first, till they finally went to their rooms.
Once alone, a silence filled the room. Sana kept looking at her plate while Dahyun was drinking.
"Dahyun... I wanted to talk to you about the gifts. When will we go to buy them and all that?" Sana spoke up.
"About that.. My mom called this morning, she wants us to spend christmas with them. Going to ski..."
Sana let her fork fall on her plate and looked at her directly. They were supposed to be together as a family on that day, she promised.
"You gotta be kidding me, Dahyun." Sana protested. "Last year, it was the same thing. You know how hard it's to tell the kids why you weren't during christmas with us? You just saw how excited Hana was and now you-"
"Hey, hey! Stop." Dahyun raised her hands. "What I'm trying to say it's that you and the kids should go with me. My mom wants to see you, she wants you to go."
Sana stayed in silence with those words. Going to ski? With Dahyun and her family? How long has it been since the last time she saw her in laws?
"I don't think I should..."
She truly thought she shouldn't go. They weren't together anymore, so the right thing would be the kids going with her alone, but the whole plan was to be the four of them together.
"You should go, Sana. I don't want to be on christmas without the three of you. Maybe we're not together anymore but you know I do love you and we've spend so many years of our lives together. We can be good friends and happily ski together with no problem. Do it for the kids."
Sana sighed and caressed one of Dahyun's cheeks. She really didn't need to even convince her, because when it comes to the korean woman she would always end up saying yes, and she hated that.
"Fine... I'll consider it."
Dahyun smiled and lend her a hand to stand up.
"Thank you, Sana." She hugged her tightly before giving her a small kiss on the cheek.
Dammit.
