The Hunter

Summary:

Charlie Swan finds out about the existence of vampires and decides to become a vampire hunter to save humankind.

Notes:

This was originally an April Fools prank I made on Tumblr announcing a new book written by Stephenie Meyer with this premise. This is just something short I decided to write for fun for a break from working on my next chapter for my other fic. It's uncensored, unedited and written in a free form so that it's mostly just words that came to mind first. Thanks for clicking this and I hope you enjoy!

Chapter Text

Charlie Swan was sitting in his armchair in front of the TV like usual after a long day at work catching criminals. He took a swig of cold beer and happily watched his favorite thing in the world: men running around and kicking a ball.

Suddenly, he heard someone knock on his front door. Charlie started panicking because he realized he would have to talk to a person, and that was not something he liked to do in his free time. He set down his can of beer unhappily and walked over to the front door grudgingly.

“Charlie, are you home?” A voice shouted, unintelligible in the pouring rain.

“Coming!” He shouted irritably.

Charlie opened the front door to face his best friend, Billy, sitting grimly in the pouring rain.

“How’s it going, old sport?” He greeted, relieved that it was just Billy.

“It’s going,” Billy responded ominously.

“Well, come on in,” Charlie said, gesturing to the living room.

Charlie walked into the living room and Billy rolled his wheelchair next to the armchair in the living room. Charlie sighed and picked up the remote to pause the exciting football game.

“What’s the matter, Billy?” He asked.

“I’ve come here because I’ve decided I have to tell you something you’re not gonna like, Charlie,” he responded sombrely.

“Well, I’m listening,” Charlie said.

“The Cullens are blood-sucking vampires,” Billy spat out.

Charlie just stared at him.

“The Cullens… they left Forks two years ago,” he said slowly.

“Anyway, they’re all vampires,” Billy said impatiently.

Charlie stood up suddenly. “Does that mean my Bella is… a vampire?”

Billy nodded sadly. “Yeah.”

Charlie walked over to the wall and grabbed his gun.

“What the hell are you doing, man?” Billy said, alarmed.

“No goddamn vampires are going to live in this world if I can help it,” Charlie shouted.

“You can’t help it!”

“I’m a goddamn cop, I can’t just sit around now that I know there are bloodthirsty killing machines just running around and the government’s doing nothing about it!” Charlie roared.

He ran out into the rain and Billy followed him, chasing him out of the house.
