Work Text:
Jungkook paced nervously around his room, he couldn’t get more than one hour sleep last night, there were too many things going on his mind to quiet down. When will they get to the next clue? They already knew it was linked to Hoseok’s past, but were just too tired the night before to go after anything. And what would all this bring them at the end? Did it even matter what was on their father’s Will anyway?
He didn’t have to wait a whole year to realize that being an heir wasn’t his first priority anymore, the moment his parents were gone he couldn’t think again of anything business related, it didn’t make him feel the adrenaline or rush that the competition and seriousness of it had rose in him before, it was just plain and boring now and he began to understand Hoseok and Tae better.
And of course there was the fact that out of a hundred thoughts ninety nine were about Jimin, if he was okay, sleeping well, eating enough, how beautiful he looked, how nice his sweet little voice sounded across almost empty rooms of that giant house, or when chubby and small fingers would adjust the glasses on his cute nose, it was so adorable, was he with Yoongi now? The last one made his heart clench, they were always close after all, maybe his mind might just be playing tricks on him, but they did seem different now a days.
Before he could notice he was already staring at Jimin’s open door, maybe the other was already awake, Jungkook tentatively walked inside the room to find the object of his affection sat on his bed, arms above his head as he stretched his body, the creamy white skin of his stomach peeking through as his shirt lifted up, he then rubbed his eyes noticing Jungkook standing there.
“Jungkook-ah, good morning.” His sleepy voice was even cuter.
“Good morning. I was just going for breakfast, wanna come?” Jungkook offered, hoping he would say yes.
“Sure.” And he did standing up and walking close to him. “I didn’t even brush my teeth yet, sorry.” Jimin said covering his mouth with his hand.
“I don’t mind. And you look adorable in your bed hair.” Jungkook had no control over his words, the other just brought up this side of him, one that couldn’t resist complimenting Jimin and making him feel good about himself.
“Stop it…” Jimin blushed and tried to arrange his locks the best way he could. “Should we wake the others up?” He asked, already skipping down the hallway.
“They looked tired so let them sleep a bit more.” And I want some time alone with you, he almost added.
“Are you making pancakes, Kookie? Because I’m dying to eat some.” Jimin clapped excited for what the other was preparing.
“Then the menu is decided, shorty.” Jungkook said playfully, he really enjoyed spending time with Jimin.
“Tsk, I’ve missed you, even your teasing.” He sighed and Jungkook wanted to hold him and kiss him so bad.
“Me too, only the teasing part, of course.” He lied though, but Jimin actually knew better and smiled.
A few minutes later and Jungkook was ready to light the fire, but first he had to look for a spatula, Jimin was finishing mixing the batter up, not feeling sorry at all when he smeared some on the other’s nose.
“How dare you?” Jungkook asked with a serious tone, but the huge smile on his face said otherwise, he reached for the bowl to get his revenge and after easily tricking Jimin, he got a finger full of the thick substance and ran it across Jimin’s cheek, who was a giggling mess.
“Noooo…” Jimin complained trying to get more batter himself, but Jungkook had him trapped on the counter, one hand on each side of his hips. He was breathing heavily as he stared into dark orbs, something hidden inside them.
“Where are you going?” Jungkook almost whispered and it felt very hot all of a sudden, was the stove on?
“There you are…” Yoongi walked into the kitchen and both parted. “You have something on your face, baby.” He said wiping the batter off his cheek, hand lingering far too long, then he kissed him, on the lips, for more than five seconds and that was definitely not a best friend thing, Jungkook had to grip at anything he could find so hard his knuckles turned white.
“I’ll go get the others.” Jungkook left so fast that Jimin almost didn’t catch what he said.
He could feel his eyes stinging, but he should not give in, should not cry because of that, because relationships like that don’t last forever right, they were not in love, it was just a reassurance, a way to feel better after what happened, it had to be, it had to, Jimin wasn’t meant for Yoongi, no, he was his Jimin, he would be, he would.

They were now all in the car heading towards Hoseok’s old house and he could almost see the sparks in the air between Jungkook and Yoongi, Hoseok wondered what the hell he missed that morning, because things were pretty tense and he was afraid they might get into a fight.
He got out of the car asking Taehyung, who was about to follow him, to stay behind just in case something bad happened, Jimin went with him instead. The house was in terrible conditions, even worse than when he left, could someone be living in there yet? He rang the bell and waited.
“Hoseok? Is that you?” He heard from the lady from across the street yell, it was his old neighbor, the nice lady who brought him cookies.
“Hey, nice to see you again.” He greeted her, she smiled and told all about how things were going since he was gone, nobody was in the house in fact, but something strange caught her attention just earlier that morning and Hoseok and Jimin were shocked from what she told. They thanked her for the help and ran back to the car as fast as they could.
“You won’t believe this!” Jimin shouted when he was at listening distance from the others.
“The lady said she had the envelope with the clue, but someone came before us and took it.” He finished and everyone was utterly confused.
“What? How can that be? I thought we were the only ones who knew about that.” Jungkook said.
“She said they look quite suspicious, but she gave them the thing anyway.” Hoseok gave more information.
“Did she say who it was?” Taehyung asked.
“Just some skinny woman and a very tall man in a suit, they didn’t say their names or anything.” Hoseok replied.
“Hum, very weird.” Yoongi added, stroking his non-existent beard.
“What should we do?” Jimin asked and nobody had the answer for that, they had to come with a whole new plan now and first find out who else would be interested in finding their father Testament, the should start with their family lawyer, Mr. Chang.
