Chapter Text
There were only two differences in the machines standing before eachother.
One had a strong, durable arm, the other a nimble but fragile arm.
The second difference: she had a very strong, difficult to repair carapace, and it had an extremely fragile shell that could be repaired upon merely contact with blood.
Obsolete, but a worthy duel nonetheless.
But she was wrong.
This was not a predecessor to be dueled.
This was a rabid dog to be put down.
It didn't wait for her to finish bowing before it threw a pair of coins into the air with one hand, and shot them with a sharp beam of blue light with the other. She was caught completely off guard. What kind of machine wouldn't have the decency to wait for a proper prelude? Regardless, she had to adapt.

She realized that she was wrong, earlier. There were three differences in the machines. Their minds. She was always looking for a non lethal way to dispose of things, but it was not. And that ever so slight difference in computation time was her downfall.
…
She would not make the same mistake again.
