WhiteFang’s Regret

Summary:

WhiteFang is a fiercely driven and emotionally volatile cat who has spent her life fighting against the belief that she is destined to be feared rather than understood. Ostracized from her family and clan for her temper, size, and intensity, she carries a deep sense of inadequacy beneath her stubborn ambition. Determined to prove her worth through achievement rather than acceptance, she pursues her goals relentlessly, even as her visits to the abandoned lighthouse begin pulling her further into instability and obsession with the strange, haunting presence she encounters there.

Chapter 1: ALLEGIANCES / LOCATIONS

Chapter Text

MangroveClan
A dense mangrove forest growing in brackish tidal water. Trees grow out of mud with tangled arching roots forming natural bridges. The forest floods and drains with the tides.
The MangroveClan camp sits on a large root cluster, with dens woven between roots above the tide line. Warriors travel between root pathways instead of the unreliable mangrove floor.
Cats from this clan tend to be lean and flexible for moving across roots and narrow surfaces. They also tend to have longer forelimbs and strong shoulder muscles for climbing and gripping, as well as dense, short fur to resist mud and brackish water. Their paws tend to be wider as well as having longer tails to balance on roots. Cats from this clan are darker to camouflage among shadowed roots .
CAMP: Built on large, ancient mangrove root clusters that form natural platforms. Dens are woven between roots using reeds and mud. The leader’s den sits highest, inside of a hollowed root knot. The medicine den is closest to the water for herb access. It’s dark, humid, & almost maze-like.

PrairieClan
An open island prairie with tall grass, scattered shrubs, and occasional small trees. The PrairieClan camp is settled in a sunken hollow surrounded by tall grass and dense shrub thickets.
PrairieClan cats have balanced but muscular bodies built for long-distance running. They have a deep chest capacity for sustained stamina, and strong back legs for repeated jumping during chases. These cats tend to have medium-length fur to protect against wind and grass abrasions. They’re slightly larger than most, and have a strong, solid bone structure. These cats tend to come in more earthy-toned fur colors.
CAMP: Built in a hollow surrounded by tall grass. Thick shrub clusters form outer walls and dens are underground burrows.

ShoreClan
A Sandy coastline with dunes, driftwood, rocky tide pools, and sparse coastal grass. The ShoreClan camp is hidden within driftwood piles, with tunnels dug into sand dunes.
ShoreClan cats are lightweight and athletic, built for running on sand. They have strong hind legs for sprinting and jumping, and broad paws to keep them from sinking into the sand. Fur is coarse and short to handle salt spray and heat. Light or sun-bleached color patterns are extremely common in these cats. Their body shapes are much more narrow and aerodynamic.
CAMP: Hidden inside sand dunes and driftwood barriers, entrence tunnels are curved to reduce wind and to hide their camp. Storage dens typically are kept partially underground to keep prey cool.

MarshClan
A wide tidal marsh with tall reeds, cattails, and shallow pools of water. Their soil is more firm than MangroveClan’s, but still considerably wet. The MarshClan camp is on a Reed island surrounded by water channels. Dens are woven through thick Reed beds.
MarshClan cats tend to have low and compact builds for moving through reeds, and shorter legs to reduce noises when traveling through shallow water. These cats often have medium-density fur, and mottled or patterned coats are common as they resemble Reed silhouettes. Their features tend to be more rounded, and their eyes are almost slightly more front facing to judge distance in tall grass.
CAMP: Located on a raised reed island, with surrounding water channels acting as a natural defense. Dens are tunnels dug into earth mounds and reinforced with grass roots.

SwampStone— Dark she-cat.

‘The Meeting Waters’
A quiet lagoon-like pond located where the territories of MangroveClan and MarshClan meet. A freshwater spring feeds the pool, while while tidal seeps in from underground channels— creating two visible layers that don’t mix.
When moonlight hits the surface, the boundary between them shimmers like a silver mirror.
A half-sunken wooden ship lies tilted in the deeper side of the pool. This is where the cats believe their first ancestors came from— accidentally arriving on a ship from far away. Medicine cats & leaders come onto the ship to lie inside it’s broken hull and connect to their ancestors. This is also where gatherings typically will be held. The leaders sit atop of the ship to speak.

TallStone: A massive, weather-worn tower rising from ragged rocks along the shoreline. The structure once shone a bright light, but now its top is broken and dark. Wind blows through cracked windows, and the inside smells of salt, rust, and old birds nests. Primarily inhabited by loners and rouges, but clan cats sometimes pass by, but not for long. Stories are whispered about the place being haunted and there being an old StoneKeeper that still resides inside. TallStone is unclaimed territory due to it being seen as dangerous and unclean. Some apprentices dare one another to explore it.

Driftwood Graveyard: A long stretch of beach where driftwood piles up after storms. Bleached logs, broken branches, and sea-smoothed planks lie scattered like bones along the sand. This location is only accessible at low tide, ShoreClan claiming this area for that reason.
