This Movie Isn't Interesting.

Summary:

Benrey and Gordon sit down to watch another shitty movie.

Benrey can't pay attention.

Notes:

Really short fic, but I thought a Benrey/Gordon movie night would be cute.

Sorry if I strayed a little bit from their character at the end.

Work Text:

Gordon slumped harder against the couch. Him and Benrey watched another shitty movie. It was their usual, to sit on the couch, grab a bag of chips, and watch some one-star film that was probably made before either of them existed.

“I just can't understand what he was thinking,” Gordon said, sighing.
“of course it wasn't going to work out between them, he's a lawyer.”

“What do you have against lawyers, bro?” Benrey looked up at him, grinning.
“The real question is; what do I NOT have against lawyers?”

The two of them laughed and stared back at the screen, listening in on whatever stupid conversation the main characters were having.
Benrey didn't like romcoms, they made them uncomfortable. But Gordon found them hilarious, so they bared through the second hand embarrassment they were overwhelmed with.
It was all worth it to watch Gordon lose his mind over the stupid decisions the characters made. He wanted to rewrite the stories, or even just grab the character through the screen and slap some sense into them.
It was also worth it to watch the way the man's eyes lit up during scenes of romance. When the characters finally resolve whatever easily avoidable conflict the plot revolves around.
It was worth it to watch Gordons lips part in awe. To watch his face turn pink during scenes they wish they could recreate with Gordon. The way his thighs shift to sit up, the way his body moved with him, the way his…

They were getting carried away.

They turned their head to continue watching the movie, noticing it was nearly over;
and once it was over they sighed and sunk into the couch.

“Well, that wasn't as bad as the last one, ay, Ben?”

“yeahhh whatever man …was still cringe af…”

“If you say so, man.”

Gordon sat back with Benrey, looking down at him with a keen little smile.
Benrey noticed and looked up at him.
“yo, what? what's that look?”

His grin turned into a toothy smile.

“bro, what?! what is it?!”

“You liked it, didn't you? You're fuckin blushing, man! You totally liked it.”

They realized just how carried away they really got staring at Gordon. They looked away, mouth open in an awkward smile.
“yo…me…haha…nah…”

“Then why are you all red, man?!”

“agh, bro, just shut up! turn on a game or something.”

They both laughed and Gordon reached over to start up the PlayStation.

Benrey was just happy to be near him.
