Work Text:
Blue Tie Kid always seemed to know the move, effortlessly he walked through the world without hardly having to try. From Turkish Quandale Dingle’s perspective it was as though Blue Tie Kid had molded the world around himself in a way that made the entire room fit his image perfectly. He was obviously the group leader, and everyone knew that.
For too long Turkish Quandale Dingle has admired the boy from afar, blushed cheeks and words kept inside. He’d spent years hiding behind this make believe wall of shame and fear, biting his tongue. He’d kept telling himself that his little crush was nothing, he can handle rejection. He told himself that the worst thing Blue Tie Kid could say was no. But truthfully, that would crush Turkish Quandale Dingle. His heart had been hurt too many times before.
He’d always been the fool.
The night of the Tiktok rizz party was going to be it, Turkish Quandale Dingle had laid everything out perfectly. The confession. And ultimately, the downfall.
He’s learned now, nothing goes to plan. His young heart has learned it all too soon and too harshly.
It was late in the night, towards the ending of the Tiktok rizz party, the dance floor had become all too hazy and moist. Bodies moving in rhythm to the music, Blue Tie Kid directing the crowed as though it was his Tiktok rizz party.
Between the distorted sounds of ‘carnival’ playing in the background Turkish Quandale Dingle made his way over to Blue Tie Kid, pushing his way through White Shirt Guy, something he’d never had the confidence to do before. The rizz of the Tiktok party instilling a new kind of audacity in Turkish Quandale Dingle.
His hand brushed Blue Tie Kid’s shoulder.
“I love you,” Turkish Quandale Dingle whispered in the group leaders ear. Just a decibel above the music, as though it was their secret to share. “I’ve loved you a long time.” He stuck his tongue out and moved his hands and hips in a way that he assumed would impress the handsome group leader.
A mating call left unnoticed.
Then, suddenly, the entire Tiktok rizz party shifted. The room turned cold and dark. Laughter fading.
This was not the plan.
“What did you just say?” Blue Tie Kid asked, out of breath from dancing. His lips hot and close, both boys caught their breath together. Out of breath for entirely separate reasons.
Turkish Quandale Dingle lowered his head in shame, “I said,” he stuttered behind his nerves, swallowing, “I said I love you.”
The words came out as though he just had to rub salt in his own wound. The once sweet words felt like swallowing a knife.
The whole rizz party knew, they all stood to watch Turkish Quandale Dingle’s public execution. They all witnessed the beginning of his villain era.
“I have a girlfriend.”
