Chapter Text
What was it like to have a popular single parent that many of his friends and acquaintances are eager to court and marry him?
For Sherlock, Gehrman, Dwayne and Merlin, those suitors were a piece of work. It's not like they couldn't understand, the four siblings well understood how charming their father is. His cooking skills, his kind and compassionate nature, his caring smile directed towards them, the way he spoils his family with not just material possessions but also through his own actions full of love.
Their father, Klein Moretti, was what Mr. Roselle had described before as the "complete package". Perhaps he's quite right. They still won't give him their father's hand in courtship though.
Another thing about their father that while he can be quite witty, he seems to oblivious on romantic matters. Well, specifically those that are directed towards himself. The four siblings are somewhat glad of that as it somewhat acts like a natural barrier against those suitors' advances. But their father still accepts those gifts he is given to, seeing them as gifts of friendship or appreciation.
1.
Their father willingly accepts the bouquets as they brighten up the house. Sometimes when there are too many, the four siblings assist their father on making pressed flower bookmarks or potpourri. He mostly gives them away as gifts to those same suitors who didn't look sad at all but instead really happy at receiving gifts in return.
One time, Sherlock and Dwayne had to hold Gehrman back from aiming his pellet gun at Mister Amon's back when the man had received their father's gift for him. Mister Amon was leaning in and about to kiss their father's cheek if Merlin didn't "accidentally" drop his pop-up book from a second floor window.
2.
The four siblings while do not really approve all of the chocolates and gifts their father receives, they don't complain as much since he divides them all amongst them siblings. If there were too much for their household to consume, their uncle Benson and aunt Melissa were very accepting of said chocolates.
What Klein doesn't know however that his own children regularly pull pranks behind his back. Whether it's supergluing all of Mister Amon's boots to the floor, or putting glitter on Mister Medici's leather jacket, or shaving their Uncle Roselle's goatee, they could somehow always get away with it. Well, not always, they weren't careful enough to get away at the last deed.
3.
Even so with the close calls, nothing would hinder these four siblings from being their father's protection squad. They especially held weekly deliberation sessions on Saturday nights where they tally off which of the suitors has a chance or not. The four usually agree most of the time but there were instances where their weekly rankings end up as betting on which suitor gets more success. They use snacks or who does what specific chore in a specific time frame.
Gehrman favors their Uncle Leonard.
Sherlock likes their Uncle Emlyn.
Dwayne likes their Aunt Audrey.
Merlin favors their Aunt Fors.
They all like Mr Azik.
Collectively exasperated at their Uncle Roselle.
They absolutely love their Aunt Amanises.
They're scared of Mr Adam.
Willing to shave that Mr Medici's hair off.
And collectively hiss at Mr Amon's presence.
Thankfully, their uncle Benson and aunt Melissa support them on their endeavors, and they always made sure to update them in return about their father.
4.
Well, as much as they were indeed protective (and possessive) of their father, the four siblings couldn't really decide who their father will choose as his spouse if he ever desires to. As long as Klein was happy, his future partner is kind to him and to them, it's enough. But until then, they'll be right there to ensure that the right person is perfect for their father.
And as much as Klein might seem oblivious in romance, he isn't that naïve to be unable to observe how his children are really serious on ensuring he would have the right partner in the future. It makes Klein smile, thankful of his precious children. At the moment, he really isn't looking for someone. Having his kids and spending time with them were enough in his day to day life.
