Quirks.
Abilities that can range from anything, from something as little as being able to change your hair color. To being able to punch anything while being bald. But throughout all, from the first time quirks were discovered, to now, there have been two greater ones. One used by evil, the ability to take quirks. And one used by good, the ability to pass down the quirk to generation after generation making them stronger. All For One and One For All. The Yin and Yang of quirks, both quirks fighting each other through countless decades.
But throughout all of this, only one person was able to put a stop to this senseless war. One Izuku Midoriya, successor of All Might, bearer of One For All. Born quirkless, but always striving to become a hero.
But…
What if things were…
Different?
Like all the other kids, one Izuku Midoriya, age 5, can't wait to get his quirk. Ever since he was able to understand the concept of what quirks were he couldn’t wait to find out what his was. So here he is holding his mothers hand, Inko Midoriya, walking into the hospital to figure out his quirk. And in his mothers opinion not a moment too soon.
Izuku has been complaining about being both hot and cold, more so cold rather then hot. And while checking multiple times for a cold or fever, there was none. So here she is, with her son waiting for their doctor to see them. While she knows, or atleasts suspects, that her son being hot could be his quirk (reason being his father having a fire quirk). She doesn't know what him feeling cold could be. While it could also be part of his quirk, she doesn't understand where it could come from. Since her own quirk is a weak version of telekinesis. An unfamiliar doctor brings her out of her thoughts.
“Mrs. Midoriya?” Asks the new doctor.
“Yes I'm here. May I ask who you are?” Inko asks
“Ah well your original doctor, Dr. Tsubasa, is not here today so will be your doctor for today. My name is Haruto Suzuki.” The, now named, doctor says.
“Oh well ok then Dr. Suzuki.”
“Great now that that's out the way, why don't you and your son follow me so we can get him checked out.” Dr. Suzuki says, gesturing to them to follow.
As the mother son duo gets up to follow the doctor, Little Izuku can be seen practically vibrating with excitement. He hopes he gets something cool, so he can be a hero just like All Might!
“Your quirkless”
Both mother and son look gob smacked by the news, Izuku letting go of his toy.
“Is what I would say if I was some quack who didn't know how to do quirk testing.” Dr. Suzuki says with a chuckle. “No, your son does indeed have a quirk, a very fascinating and strong one at that!”
Inko audio ably sighs, grateful that her son does have a quirk. Don't get her wrong even if he didn’t, she would still love him the same. It's just she knows the world is cruel, especially towards those that are “different”. No, while she wouldn't mind, she knows the world would have.
“Seems like I gave you a slight fright. But don't worry Mrs. Midoriya, little Izuku here seems to have a mix of both yours and your husbands quirk, with a big twist.” Dr. Suzuki says
“O-oh. Is it a bad twist?” Inko asks nervously
“No no, not in the slightest. See, you said that your sons have been feeling both hot and cold right?” He asks while looking through their paperwork.
“Yes, more so cold than anything.”
“Well as you probably suspect, that is a part of his quirk. It's just his body getting used to it. Given a little time along with quirk counseling, his body should be used to it, letting his inner temp go back to normal.”
“Ah ok, but wait then why does he feel cold?”
“That is very simple. His quirk not only mixed with yours and your husbands, it evolved I should say. So now instead of being a regular pyrokinesis, he can also make his fire so cold to the point he can create ice! It's truly fascinating manly because the cold aspect takes up most of his quirk!”
“I-I s-see…” Inko says, a little taken aback of what she just heard.
And Izuku? Well if you thought he was excited before. Now, you can actually see him vibrating in place with how happy he is.
“A-and um how do you know all this?” Inko asks
“Oh well that's simple. I don't, not really. This all theory to a point, but I'm highly sure what I said is right. I am a quirk specialist after all.” Dr. Suzuki says with a grin
“Well thank you Doctor, and your sure with just some time and quirk counseling will his temp go back to normal?.
“Yes, I am sure. Happens with all the kids with fire and ice quirks.” He says as he walks them out the hospital room “And after that, he can control his inner temperature so he won't be cold during winter or hot in the summer! If anything happens, or you have questions I'll email you my office phone number.”
“Well thank you doctor for everything. And what do you say Izuku?” Inko says as she places a hand on her son's shoulder
“THANK YOU DOCTOR!” He says, practically yelling
“Hehe no problem kiddo it's my job and hey…” The doctor says as he reaches into his pocket, pulling out a lollipop. “Since you were such a good kid here's a lollipop” He says as he bends down to hand it to him.
As Izuku reaches to grab it, he sneezes.
Sneezes blue fire out his mouth covering both the lollipop and the doctor's face. Inko gasps, and Izuku looks panicked. But as the flames die, the lollipop is seen fine , albeit covered in ice. And the doctor's face? He's fine with just a thin layer of frost covering his face. The hall is quiet for a few seconds until he stands up slowly, chuckling. Grabbing a towel from his pocket to wipe his face.
