Chapter Text
“I can't believe it!! I never thought they would tour again, nevermind so close!!”
Clem sat there, only half listening, as his sister ranted on and on about her most recent musical obsession, this band called “Las compensation” or something like that. having never really understood the hype around music, he never cared much for it. it's just sounds, where's the talent in that?
“the tickets were so cheap, I just had to get them!! I just.. well.. I have one problem..”
he looked up from the strange wall decoration talking about a ‘twink’ (whatever that means) his eyes had been fixated on to make eye contact with his sister.
“hm?”
“okay, so, don't get mad at me… but mom said I couldn't go alone. she said I was too young or something and needed an adult.. so I may have told her you were coming with me.”
what.
“i mean, you're almost 18, it's fine!”
“Kayla.”
Clementine - or just clem for short - was a normal guy.
and this was the worst day of his life.
his sister sighed before speaking again
“look, I know it's not ideal. but I've already bought the tickets. you're coming, whether you want to or not.”
“you fucking owe me, man. Jesus christ.” he rolled his eyes and went to leave their room, hearing a squeel and a little “Thank you!!” on his way out.
what had he just agreed to.
when back in his room, his first instinct was to just lay down and cry. fucking hell, he hated his sister right now. but instead of crying tears, he decided to cry to his Twitter followers.
“my sister is forcing me to go to this weird bands concert this summer… anyone know about los cumpensinos? I think that's their name or smth. anyways, muting this till the show.”
he posted it, then went to bed.
that night, his dream was… questionable. he was in a videogame- normal enough, except that he could hear the player shouting commands at him. the British voice sent shivers down his spine, as he was forced to obey his every word. the voice guided him through a mario-esque platformer, safely helping him through dungeons and caverns, right up until the end. at this point, he felt safe. he felt comfortable, the soft voice sounding like art in his ears. he didn't even pay attention to the words being spoken, but one sentence stuck out.
“jump into the lava pit.”
he tried shouting, crying, but it was no use. one last step..
Clem awoke at 4 am the next morning, gasping and covered In sweat.
