Work Text:

Chaewon looked at her sides, the black suit practically hanging off her, "Now, why are we having a prom?"

Yunjin laughs, adjusting her own suit jacket. "It's for the fans, unnie. They've been asking for a prom concept for ages."

Sakura twirls in her elegant gown, the skirt billowing around her. "And who doesn't love an excuse to dress up?"

Kazuha nods, a smile on her face. "It's fun to do something different once in a while."

Eunchae giggles, her dress sparkling under the lights. "Plus, we get to see you, Kazuha-unnie, and Yunjin-eonni in suits. That's a treat!"

Garam smirks, nudging Chaewon playfully. "You clean up nicely. Who knew you could pull off a suit so well?"

Chaewon scoffs, but a hint of a smile plays on her lips. "I can pull off anything. You should know that by now."

The girls make their way to the refreshment table, their eyes widening at the array of delectable treats. Eunchae reaches for a cupcake, her face lighting up as she takes a bite.

"Oh my gosh, these are amazing!" she exclaims, her mouth full of sugary goodness.

Yunjin chuckles, grabbing a mini quiche. "Careful, Eunchae. Don't spoil your appetite for dinner."

Sakura sidles up to Chaewon, a mischievous glint in her eye. "So, Chaewon, who's your date for the evening?"

Chaewon nearly chokes on her punch, her cheeks flushing. "What? I don't have a date!"

Kazuha grins, joining in on the teasing. "Really? I thought I saw you eyeing that handsome camera operator earlier."

Chaewon's blush deepens, and she frantically looks around to make sure no one else heard. "I was not! I was just... admiring his camera skills."

Garam raises an eyebrow, her lips curling into a sly smile. "Admiring his camera skills, huh? Is that what we're calling it now?"

Chaewon shoots her a glare, but before she can retort, the DJ's voice booms over the speakers. "Alright, ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the moment you've all been waiting for... the dance competition!"

Eunchae's eyes light up, and she grabs Garam's hand, pulling her towards the dance floor. "Come on, unnie! Let's show them what we've got!"

Yunjin and Kazuha exchange a look. They stride onto the dance floor, their suits giving them an air of confidence as they take their positions.

Sakura turns to Chaewon. "What do you say? Shall we join them?"

Chaewon hesitates for a moment, her gaze flickering to the handsome camera operator. She takes a deep breath, pushing aside her nerves, and nods. "Let's do this."

The two girls make their way to the center of the dance floor, the crowd parting to let them through. The music starts, a pulsing beat that thrums through their veins.

Eunchae and Garam move in perfect sync, their dresses shimmering under the lights as they execute a series of intricate steps.

Yunjin and Kazuha match them move for move, their suits giving them an edge as they incorporate acrobatic elements into their routine.

Sakura and Chaewon hold their own, their chemistry palpable as they dance around each other, their movements fluid and graceful.

As the competition heats up, the girls push themselves harder, each team determined to outshine the others. Eunchae and Garam add a playful element to their routine, their laughter infectious as they incorporate silly poses and exaggerated facial expressions.

Yunjin and Kazuha, not to be outdone, up the ante with a series of impressive lifts and spins, their suits giving them the freedom to move in ways that leave the audience gasping in awe.

Sakura and Chaewon, meanwhile, focus on the storytelling aspect of their performance, their movements conveying a tale of love and longing that has the crowd enraptured.

As the final notes of the song fade away, the girls strike their ending poses, chests heaving and faces flushed with exertion. The room erupts in applause, the audience on their feet as they shower the girls with praise.

The DJ takes the stage, a wide grin on his face. "Wow, what an incredible show! Give it up one more time for LE SSERAFIM!"

The cheers grow even louder, and the girls take a moment to bask in the adoration of their fans. They join hands, taking a bow as a group, their faces glowing with pride and joy.

As they make their way off the dance floor, the handsome camera operator approaches Chaewon, a shy smile on his face. "Hey, that was really impressive. You've got some serious moves."

Chaewon blushes, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thanks. You're not so bad yourself, you know, with the camera skills and all."

Chaewon's eyes widen, and she quickly tries to shush Eunchae, but it's too late. The other girls have already caught wind of the conversation, and they descended upon Chaewon like a pack of excited puppies.

Garam grins, draping an arm around Chaewon's shoulders. "Well, well, well. Looks like our Chaewon-unnie has an admirer."

Yunjin chuckles, giving Chaewon a playful wink. "I knew that suit would work its magic."

Chaewon groans, burying her face in her hands. "You guys are never going to let me live this down, are you?"

Sakura giggles, patting Chaewon's back sympathetically. "Nope. That's what sisters are for."

The camera operator takes a step back, a bemused smile on his face. "I should probably get back to work. But hey, Chaewon, if you ever want to grab a coffee or something..."

Eunchae squeals, clapping her hands together. "Ooh, a coffee date! Unnie! Go for it!"

Chaewon shoots Eunchae a look, but she can't help the small smile that tugs at her lips. She turns back to the camera operator, her cheeks still tinged pink. "Yeah, that would be nice."

As he walks away, the girls erupt into a chorus of cheers and whistles, their excitement palpable. Chaewon shakes her head, laughing despite herself.

Eunchae's grin widens, "Yes! You'll finally get out with someone!"

Chaewon raises a brow, "What's that supposed to mean? I go out often!"

Eunchae giggles, her eyes twinkling with mirth. "Sure. If you count going to the convenience store at 2 AM for ramyeon as 'going out.'"

The girls burst into laughter, and even Chaewon can't help but crack a smile. She shakes her head, a rueful chuckle escaping her lips. "Yah, you brat. Just wait until you're older. Then you'll understand the value of a good late-night ramyeon run."

Kazuha steps forward, a mischievous glint in her eye. "Speaking of going out, I think this calls for some singing. Who's up for some karaoke?"

Yunjin smiles at Kazuha, "Isn't that all we do nowadays?"

Kazuha laughs, throwing an arm around Yunjin's shoulders. "True, but this time, it's not for work. It's for fun! And to celebrate Chaewon-eonnie budding romance, of course."

Chaewon rolls her eyes, “It's just a date. Don't start planning the wedding just yet."

Garam chuckles, already moving towards the exit. "Come on. Let's get out of these fancy clothes and into something more comfortable. I can't wait!"

The girls cheer in agreement, following Garam's lead. As they make their way back to the dorm. Eunchae skips ahead, her dress swishing around her legs. "I call dibs!"

Sakura shakes her head, a fond smile on her face. "Eunchae-ah, you always pick the same song. How about we let Chaewon choose?"

Chaewon blinks, surprised by the suggestion. "Me? Oh, I don't know..."

Yunjin nudges her playfully, a grin spreading across her face. "Come on. This is your night. Pick a song that really speaks to you."

As they enter the dorm, the girls disperse to their rooms, eager to change into more comfortable attire. Chaewon sits on her bed, lost in thought. A song that speaks to her? A slow smile spreads across her face as the perfect song comes to mind.

A sock flew from Eunchae's room to Kazuha's, "Watch out!"

Kazuha turned around quickly, "What the!?"

Eunchae pokes her head out of her room, a sheepish grin on her face. "Sorry, unnie! I was aiming for the laundry basket."

Kazuha shakes her head, a bemused smile tugging at her lips. "Eunchae, the laundry basket is in the opposite direction. How did you even..."

Garam emerges from her room, now clad in a cozy hoodie and sweatpants. "What's with all the noise? I thought we were going to karaoke, not playing dodgeball with our socks."

Yunjin chuckles, joining the others in the living room. "Knowing Eunchae, it's probably both."

Eunchae sticks her tongue out at Yunjin, but there's no real malice behind the gesture. "Hey, I can multitask!"

Yunjin raises a brow playfully, "What do you call multitasking, throwing a sock and knocking someone out with it?"

Eunchae pouts, crossing her arms over her chest. "Yah, unnie! That was one time, and it was an accident!"

Sakura and Chaewon enter the room, their eyes sparkling with amusement at the scene before them. Sakura claps her hands together, drawing everyone's attention. "Alright, girls. We ready to head out?"

The girls nod in unison. As they make their way out of the dorm, Chaewon falls into step beside Eunchae, nudging the younger girl playfully. "Next time, try aiming for the laundry basket with your clothes, not your socks."

Eunchae giggles, linking her arm with Chaewon's. "No promises, unnie. Where's the fun in that?"

Chaewon rounds her arm around Eunchae's neck in a playful headlock. "Wanna know where the fun in that is? That I won't have to play Indiana Jones looking for your socks all over the dorm!"

Eunchae squeals, trying in vain to wriggle out of Chaewon's grasp. "Ya! Unnie, let me go!"

The rest of the girls laugh at the pair's antics as they make their way out the door. Kazuha shakes her head fondly. "Those two never quit, do they?"

Yunjin chuckles. "It wouldn't be the same without their bickering,"

Chaewon struggles to hold Eunchae down, "I've said, is that a promise!?"

Eunchae finally manages to break free from Chaewon's headlock, stumbling away while sticking her tongue out childishly. "Never! You'll have to catch me first!"

She takes off down the hallway at a sprint, her dress swishing around her legs. Chaewon rolls her eyes but can't fight the grin tugging at her lips as she gives chase.

"Yah! Get back here you brat!" Chaewon calls out, laughter lacing her voice.

The others watch in amusement as Eunchae and Chaewon race ahead, their playful shouts and laughter echoing back.

Garam shakes her head. "Those two have too much energy. We're gonna have to rein them in at the karaoke place."

"Good luck with that," Yunjin snorts. "You know how they get when they're riled up."

Eunchae and Chaewon burst into the karaoke room, panting heavily, but grinning from the thrill of their impromptu chase. Eunchae juts her tongue out at Chaewon. "Told you you couldn't catch me!"

"Oh yeah?" Chaewon narrows her eyes mischievously before lunging at Eunchae, tickling her sides.

Eunchae shrieks with laughter, trying and failing to squirm away. "Ya! No fair! Unnie, stoooop!"

The rest of the girls can only watch in fond exasperation as the youngest and oldest members roughhouse. Finally, Sakura steps in, pulling them apart with a shake of her head.

"Alright you two, that's enough. Save some of that energy for singing, yeah?"

Chaewon pouts, "She started it."

Sakura gives Chaewon a look. "And you're the older one, you should know better than to encourage her antics." She turns to Eunchae with a stern expression. "As for you, young lady, I expect better behavior. This is supposed to be a fun night out, not a wrestling match."

Eunchae has the decency to look sheepish. "Sorry, unnie. I'll behave, I promise."

The girls file into the karaoke room, immediately getting comfortable on the plush couches. Kazuha grabs the remote, scrolling through the song selections.

"Alright, who wants to go first?" she asks, glancing around at her members.

Garam raises her hand eagerly. "Ooh, me! I've got the perfect song in mind." She takes the mic from Kazuha and selects an upbeat pop track, wasting no time in belting out the lyrics with her powerful vocals.

As Garam dances and sings with unbridled energy, the rest of the girls cheer her on enthusiastically. Even Chaewon and Eunchae have put their squabble aside, caught up in the fun atmosphere.

When the song ends, Garam takes an exaggerated bow to the raucous applause from her groupmates. "Thank you, thank you! I'll be here all night!"

Yunjin laughs, grabbing the mic next. "My turn to show you how it's done."

She kicks off an impromptu singalong, challenging the others to keep up with the rapid-fire lyrics of a tongue-twisting rap song. Soon they're all dissolving into fits of laughter as they fumble over the words.

"Okay, okay, I think we need something a bit slower after that tongue-twister," Kazuha chuckles, scrolling through the options again.

Chaewon clears her throat. "Actually...I had something in mind." All eyes turn to her as she takes the mic, a small smile playing on her lips.

The first few notes of the song fill the room, and Chaewon closes her eyes, letting the emotion of the lyrics wash over her.

"When the rain is blowing in your face..." she begins, her voice soft but filled with feeling.

Eunchae leans over to Sakura, whispering loudly. "This song again?"

Sakura gives her a nudge. "Shh, let her sing."

But Chaewon has already heard. A wry smile tugs at her lips as she opens her eyes, locking gazes with Eunchae. "You got a problem with my song?"

Eunchae's eyes widen innocently. "Wha—? No, unnie, of course not! I was just—"

"Just being a brat, as usual," Chaewon interjects, her tone light and teasing.

A chorus of "Ooooh" rises from the others as Eunchae's mouth drops open in mock offense. Before she can retort, Chaewon's vocals swell, effortlessly commanding the room's attention.

Yunjin leans back, letting the rich timbre of Chaewon's voice wash over her. Who knew the woman had pipes like that? She shares an impressed look with Kazuha.

As the soaring notes reach their peak, even Garam seems transfixed despite her usual bluster. She'd never admit it, but chills are prickling along her arms.

Eunchae has gone uncharacteristically still beside Sakura, her eyes wide with wonder. Is that really Chaewon-unnie singing?

Chaewon loses herself in the lyrics, the world fading away until there's only the music. For once, she doesn't think — she just feels, allowing every nuance of emotion to pour out.

When the final, lingering strains dissipate into silence, it takes a beat for the spell to break. Then Eunchae is on her feet, whistling loudly as she leads a raucous cheer.

"That's our unnie! Who knew you had it in you?"

Chaewon ducks her head shyly, but can't fight her pleased smile at the torrent of enthusiastic praise and applause.

"Wah, Chaewon-ah!" Sakura's eyes are shining with admiration. "Why've you been holding out on us?"

Chaewon shrugs, warmth blooming in her chest. "Just felt like sharing something different tonight."

Kazuha throws an arm around her shoulders with a grin. "Well, you'd better get ready to share that pretty voice more often from now on!"

A smile comes onto Chaewon’s face, doing a slight hair brush, “Wouldn’t wanna lose my style, you know?”

A grin widened on Eunchae’s face, “Like your temper?”

Chaewon shoots Eunchae a playful glare. "Yah! My temper is perfectly under control."

"Sure it is," Eunchae giggles, sticking out her tongue cheekily.

Before Chaewon can retaliate, Yunjin interjects with a laugh. "Alright alright, let's not rile her up again so soon."

"Yeah, we don't need a sequel of Fast and Furious," Garam chuckles, raising an eyebrow meaningfully at the two troublemakers.

Kazuha put her hands inside her pockets, pulling forward while looking away, "But.. If you guys do, I want in."

"Yah, Kazuha-ya! Whose side are you on?" Chaewon mock-glares at her friend, unable to hide her own amused grin.

Kazuha throws her hands up innocently. "Hey, I'm just saying, a little mayhem could be fun! Keeps things interesting."

"You would think that," Yunjin chuckles, shaking her head fondly. She bumps Kazuha's shoulder affectionately. "Our little chaotic neutral over here."

Sakura gives Kazuha a warning look, but her eyes are twinkling with mirth. "Don't go encouraging those two troublemakers now. We might never get them under control again."

"Too late for that, unnie!" Eunchae pipes up cheekily, sticking her tongue out at Chaewon again in a clear challenge.
