Chapter Text
A year had passed since the battle against the drunn. Kumandra was taking its first steps towards unification. However, the scars of the past still marked the five tribes.
Raya, the heroine who saved Kumandra, had become an unwitting ambassador, tirelessly traveling between tribes to negotiate agreements and iron out differences. The task was arduous, full of tense moments and frustrating negotiations. Nevertheless, Raya persevered, driven by her unwavering faith in a better future.
In his travels, she found solace in the company of his former adventure companions. She would visit Boun's bustling restaurant, where the scent of spices brought him back to joy. She laughed with Noi in his tent, who was now just a baby most of the time as she was still making out in the company of the Oongis. And finally she enjoyed the peace and wisdom of the Tong family, who gave her a haven where she could simply be Raya, without the weight of responsibility on her shoulders.
But one person stood out among them all: Namaari, the princess of Fang. Despite their troubled past, an invisible connection united them.
Namaari, approached her seeking redemption for her mistakes and offered to accompany her on some of her journeys. Raya's initial reluctance turned into gradual acceptance and together they explored the nooks and crannies of Kumandra, facing some challenges along the way and forging the foundations that helped them restore their friendship.
The sun was bidding farewell to Talon, painting the sky in shades of orange and violet, when Raya and Namaari met Sisu on the outskirts of the city. The dragoness, with a hint of frustration in her voice, told them about her unfortunate experience in the market, lamenting the difficulties of adapting to human customs.
-It's impossible! I don't understand how they manage to live this way so... so chaotic- the dragoness lamented, waving her claws in exasperation. Raya and Namaari watched her with a mixture of sympathy and amusement.
-Don't worry, Sisu, you just need to get used to it- Raya comforted him, with a reassuring smile. -In time you'll learn to get along better in today's human world-
-But it's just... everything is so different from five hundred years ago- Sisu exclaimed, with a despondent snort.
Raya, with her characteristic sarcastic humor, interjected, -Well, being a dragon shouldn't be that hard either- she said jokingly.
Sisu looked at her with a spark of defiance in his eyes. -Do you really think being a dragon is that easy? Well, you're wrong. In fact, it's much more complicated than you imagine- she pointed out and continued to talk to both of them about the topic
Both princesses passed the time listening to Sisu's anecdote about her visit to the Talon market with her sister Pranee until dusk came, when the three friends decided to camp near the Talon River.
Sisu, with contagious enthusiasm, told them about a temple hidden in the forest, a place forgotten by humans and full of secrets that only a dragon could access with his magic.
-It's going to be an amazing adventure!- Sisu told them, his voice full of excitement. -I'll tell you the legend of the place and show you things you've never seen before.-
Raya, intrigued by Sisu's proposal, looked to Namaari for her opinion. The princess of Fang, with a smile on her face, replied, -I don't know, maybe it could be another time...-
Sisu, slyly and with a touch of mischief, interjected, -Nuh... uh... At this time of year the entrance by the river is still accessible to humans, but I don't know if it's going to last that long-
Raya, with an amused laugh, noticed Sisu's ruse. -Well, we have nothing more to do- she whispered to Namaari, who was stroking the soft fur of Dao, her serlot. -I don't think it's a bad idea to explore a bit and go meet that temple-
Namaari, giving in to her friends' insistence, folded her arms and finally agreed, -Okay... Okay, Sisu, you win-
A childlike glee came over the dragoness, who gave a couple of animated prances. -I promise you'll love the place!- exclaimed Sisu with a beaming smile.
Thus, the group decided to rest and spend the night before starting the next day's trip.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sun was barely peeking over the horizon when Sisu burst into Raya's tent, with an infectious enthusiasm that contrasted with the princess's drowsiness.
-Good morning, sleepyhead!- the dragoness exclaimed, bursting into the tent with a cheerful gesture. -It's time to start our adventure!-
Raya, still with narrowed eyes and matted hair, grunted an unintelligible greeting as she struggled out of her cozy cocoon of blankets. Namaari, meanwhile, was already awake and organizing her things with her usual efficiency.
-Good morning, Sisu- greeted Namaari with a smile. -Looks like you're ready to start the day-
-Of course!- the dragoness replied with a prance. -We have a long journey ahead of us and
I don't want to waste a minute-
Raya, finally awake and clear-headed, joined the conversation. -Okay...- she said with a resigned tone as she came out of her tent -I don't know where they get so much energy in the morning-
Namaari couldn't help but tease her. -Ay, good morning to you too dep la-
Raya gave her a withering look, but could not help but smile. The camaraderie between the three of them was evident, a friendship forged through shared hardships.
After a quick breakfast and the preparation of their provisions, they set out. They crossed the forest following Sisu, who guided them with a sure step towards their destination.
Finally, they came to a lake that Raya recognized instantly: she had been there before, during her search for Sisu. However, this time something was different.
-This is it- the dragoness announced, pointing to a spot on the surface of the water. -The entrance to the temple is underwater. We'll have to dive to get there-
Raya and Namaari looked at each other, a little apprehensive at the prospect of plunging into the depths of the lake. However, the confidence in Sisu's voice reassured them.
After leaving Tuk Tuk and Dao on the shore, they prepared for the dive. Adjusting their swords to their waists before jumping into the water and clinging to Sisu, who guided them through the darkness of the lake.
As they descended, the sunlight gradually faded, giving way to a bluish gloom that tinged the underwater landscape, leaving only the light of Sisu's magic as the only light.
Finally, after a long descent, they reached the entrance to the temple. A stone doorway carved with draconic symbols glowed with a dim light. Sisu, with a majestic gesture, opened the temple doors, revealing a cavernous interior full of mystery.
A sigh of relief escaped their lips as they reached the surface. Fresh air filled their lungs, reviving their bodies and a shiver of excitement ran down their spines as they glimpsed the interior of the temple.
-Come in- the dragoness invited them, with a beaming smile. -The legend of the temple awaits us- she told them with a smile as she used her magic to remove the excess water from her friends' clothes. In the blink of an eye, the water soaking their clothes evaporated, giving way to a pleasant feeling of dryness.
Sisu led her friends through a maze of corridors, each more impressive than the last. Finally, they reached a central room where a giant stone mural dominated the front wall. The dragoness, with a solemn gesture, placed her paw on the mural, activating a magical mechanism that gradually illuminated it.
The images engraved in the stone came to life before his eyes. Couples of dragons danced in the sky, their bodies intertwined in a harmonious dance. The love story of two forbidden souls unfolded before them, a tale of passion and tragedy that completely captivated them.
-This temple was built by the dragons as a tomb- Sisu began, his voice echoing in the cavernous chamber.
Raya and Namaari looked at each other in silence, allowing Sisu to continue with his story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Here rest the remains of two lovers from different clans, whose union was forbidden by their customs- he said as the images on the mural moved, narrating the story as if it were a shadow theater.
In the heart of Kumandra, in the mountain clan, a young princess named Anika blossomed like a bud about to open. Her beauty was as radiant as the sun and her indomitable spirit defied the rules imposed by her people. In her burned a flame of rebellion, a yearning for freedom that set her apart from the rest.
While in the river clan, a young warrior named Kael was distinguished by his nobility and bravery. His heart was pure as the moonlight that guided his steps and his strength was comparable to that of the waves that lashed the shore. In him dwelt a desire for peace, a longing to break the chains that oppressed his people.
One day, during the annual festival that united the clans, their eyes met. It was a crush of love, a torrent of emotions that defied the laws of tradition. Anika and Kael, who despite the rules imposed by both clans, fell in love with a rapturous passion.
Their love blossomed in secret, in the moonlight and under the whisper of the stars. They communicated through letters hidden in the branches of trees and coded messages. Each encounter was an oasis of happiness for both of them.
However, their happiness would not last long. Xin, Anika's fiancé, a cold and ambitious man, discovered their romance. In an act of anger and jealousy, blinded by rage and thirst for revenge, he murdered Kael during a full moon night, staining the earth with blood.
Anika, upon learning of the death of her beloved, plunged into a sea of grief. Her heart, once radiant as the sun, became dark as the moonless night. The thought of living without Kael was unbearable and created an emptiness that consumed her inside.
Taking a ceremonial dagger, symbol of her lineage and destiny, Anika went to Kael's grave and as a last act of love and rebellion, she took her own life, joining her beloved in the afterlife, defying the rules that separated them in life.
The dragons, moved by the tragedy of the two lovers, interceded and in an act of compassion allowed Anika and Kael to be reborn as two majestic dragons: a
golden dragon that glowed with the intensity of the sun and a dragon with bluish fur that reflected the darkness of the night.

Raya and Namaari's eyes met, reflecting a mixture of uncertainty and excitement. The story of the forbidden lovers had resonated deeply with them.
Sisu, with a mischievous smile, extracted a pair of bracelets from the paws of the majestic dragon statues representing the lovers. Doubt clouded his mind, but hope shone in his eyes.
-According to legend, these bracelets could turn them into dragons- Sisu explained to them, with a tone of mystery in her voice. -They are said to be the only legacy the lovers left behind after their transformation-
Raya, with a skeptical look, arched an eyebrow. "I don't think something like that is true," she said, breaking the magical aura of the moment.
Namaari, beside him, let out a nervous chuckle. The idea of becoming a dragon intrigued her -Oh come on you looked for a dragon for six years, and now you tell me you don't believe in this legend?- She said to her friend
Raya stuck her tongue out at her friend in a playful gesture and before the fang princess could answer her, she placed the bracelet on her wrist, hoping to feel some transformation. But nothing happened. -See?- said Raya, with a triumphant tone. -I was right, it doesn't work.-
Sisu, without losing hope, intervened. -Maybe... maybe they should use them at the same time- he suggested, scratching his cheek with a claw.
Namaari, resigned, imitated Raya and put on the second bracelet. Hope bloomed again in Sisu's heart, but once again, disappointment gripped her. There was no transformation, no magic.
-Oh, come on... I really would have liked to see them turned into dragons- said Sisu trying to hide her disappointment -plus I wanted to show them that it's not easier to be a dragon- she muttered more to herself.
However, a new problem arose when the princesses tried to remove their bracelets. These had become attached to their wrists with unexpected force.
-Damn!- exclaimed Raya, tugging at the bracelet in frustration. -They won't move!-
Namaari, her brow furrowed in frustration, tugged at the bracelet with all her might but could not get it off.
Raya, more calmly, observed the bracelets closely. -Maybe there's a trick- she murmured, as her fingers brushed the details etched into the surface of the metal.
At that precise moment, a terrifying roar echoed from the depths of the temple, followed by a tremor that threatened to collapse everything and a stone creature, burst onto the scene with a ferocious roar.
-We have to get out of here!- shouted Raya, her heart pounding with adrenaline. The stone creature, though not as agile, pursued them relentlessly, forcing them back towards the exit of the temple. Sisu guided them through the passages, dodging debris looking for the quickest route to the exit.
They barely managed to escape, jumping into the water just as the stone creature reached them. Sisu swam hard, pulling them away from danger and the angry roar that died down behind the sealed door of the temple.
Outside, Dao and Tuk Tuk approached as they saw them come out of the water so upset and both looked worried about their riders.
-What was that?- asked Raya, still panting from the run.
Namaari, her face pale from the experience, turned to Sisu. -Did you know that thing was there?-
Sisu shook his head, a tinge of sadness in his voice. -I shouldn't be... The temple should be a safe place-
He looked toward the lake, where the stone creature had probably been trapped when the temple door closed.
-What if it was a trap to prevent someone from taking the bracelets?- interjected Raya, still lying on the ground. She raised her arm, showing the object on her wrist. -Maybe it appeared just because we decided to wear them-
Namaari frowned and looked at her own bracelet. -You may be right-
A silence fell over the group, broken only by the sound of the wind and the leaves of the trees. Sisu, with a nervous smile, finally spoke.
-Don't worry, I'll go to my brother Pengu. He should know something about this and.... maybe he'll help me fix this mess-
He encouraged them to return home, and the rest of the day was spent traveling to an intermediate point before reaching Heart, where they camped for the last time.
The next day, they said goodbye to Sisu, who promised to get them help in solving the mystery of the temple. Raya and Namaari, with the bracelets still on their wrists, set out on the final journey to Heart on the backs of Dao and Tuk Tuk.
They arrived at heart shortly before dusk and headed to the stables to let their companions rest. While the princess of fang was making sure they were okay, Raya went ahead to talk to her father.
I had to inform him that Namaari would be spending the night at the castle, but I also wanted him to be aware of what happened at the hidden temple on the lake.
His father had been concerned but was confident that sisu's help could resolve what had happened.
Dinner was over and the tension in the air was palpable. Raya and Namaari made their way to the former's room, a space that had become a refuge for both of them. Sharing a bed was not something they would admit to publicly, but it had become a habit that gave them security and complicity.
Namaari, looking uneasy, broke the silence.
-Do you think the bracelets would have worked?- he asked, turning his gaze away to give Raya privacy while she changed clothes. Raya, uncertain, contemplated the bracelet in her hand -I don't know- she replied in a hesitant tone.
Suddenly, with a mischievous grin, Raya approached Namaari. Adopting a playful posture, she imitated a growl and raised both hands as if she were a wild animal about to catch her prey.
-You should run, princess!- he exclaimed in a flirtatious tone. -Now I'm an evil dragon who kidnaps princesses like you!-
Namaari, amused by Raya's attitude, responded by throwing a pillow and kicking off an epic pillow fight that soon turned into a competition.
The two princesses moved about the room with grace and ferocity, tossing pillows with pinpoint accuracy. Laughter filled the air, mingling with gasps and exclamations of surprise.
Raya, not willing to give up, counterattacked with one and managed to knock Namaari down on the bed. Laughing, she straddled her, pinning her down with her arms.
The air thickened between them, as if an invisible wave of discomfort enveloped them. A sepulchral silence took over the room, broken only by the soft whisper of the night breeze filtering through the window. It was as if the atmosphere itself had become a mirror of the tension that reigned between the two women.
Namaari stood motionless beneath her, her coffee-colored eyes shining with unusual intensity in the faint moonlight filtering through the window. Her lips, half-open
in a small smile seemed to invite Raya on an unknown journey. Raya swallowed saliva, fighting the urge to lean in and capture those lips in a fiery kiss.
The pillows, mute witnesses to the battle of games that had given way to this electrifying intimacy, lay forgotten on the floor. Raya remained astride Namaari, feeling the warmth of her body through the thin fabric of her pants. Their gazes met, and for an instant, time seemed to stand still. The tension between them was palpable and Raya felt caught in a whirlwind of emotions that confused and terrified her in equal parts.
The heart princess's movements became slow, deliberate, as if exploring new, unfamiliar territory. Her hands brushed the exposed skin of the other girl's abdomen with a gentle caress, sending shivers down the back of the princess of Fang.
Namaari did not resist. Her eyes closed as a sigh of pleasure escaped her lips. Her fingers tangled in Raya's hair, drawing her to her. Their bodies pressed together with a familiarity that betrayed a nascent intimacy.
A tingle ran through Raya's body, a mixture of desire and fear. She was at a point of no return, close to crossing a line that would change her life forever. A part of her resisted, fearful of the consequences, but another part of her longed madly for what was about to happen...
At that instant, a sharp knock on the door brought them out of their reverie. They looked into each other's eyes, a mixture of surprise and frustration in their gazes. The magic of the moment had been broken
-Princess Are you all right?- A guard's voice sounded concerned from the other side of the door.
Raya stood up with a start, her face flushed with embarrassment -Yeah... I'm fine. I just... I fell out of bed- she said in a shaky voice.
-It's okay, I just wanted to make sure. At ease- the guard replied, walking away from the door.
Raya and Namaari were silent, breathing heavily. They both knew that what had happened between them could not be ignored, but they also did not feel safe to talk about it at that moment.
With a quick movement, Namaari stood up and picked up the pillows from the floor. -I think we should sleep- she said hoarsely, avoiding eye contact.
-Uhm... it's already late- Raya replied with a shy smile as she watched the princess of Fang lie down on the bed.
Raya let out a sigh and blew out the candle before lying down on the bed and remaining silent trying to understand what had happened.
That night, sleep was slow in coming. Images of Namaari beneath her body, his intense gaze and seductive smile haunted her like ghosts in the dark. She tossed and turned in the sheets, fighting the desire that consumed her insides.

The sun's rays filtered through the windows, illuminating Raya's room. The princess awoke slowly, with a slight headache and a sense of confusion. The events of the previous night seemed like a dream, a mixture of tension, laughter and passion interrupted by the abrupt arrival of the guard.
She turned to the other side of the bed, where Namaari was still sleeping peacefully. Her serene face contrasted with the ferocity she usually displayed.
Raya got up carefully, not wanting to wake her. She went to the window and gazed out at the landscape before her.
Suddenly, a soft rustling sound from the bed brought her out of her thoughts. She turned and saw Namaari sitting up, a surprised expression on her face.
-Good morning- murmured Raya, with a shy smile.
-Good morning- replied Namaari, still groggy from sleep.
At that instant, they both noticed something peculiar. The bracelets on their wrists glowed with a faint bluish light and a tingle ran through their bodies.
Slowly, they looked into each other's eyes and in that instant, they understood. The magic of the bracelets had finally work

A glow flooded the room, leaving a trail of bluish smoke in its wake. When the light dissipated, the two princesses looked at each other with wild eyes, transformed into majestic dragons.
Namaari was an imposing dragon of beige fur, with golden details, her mane, was somewhat wilder, but her usual cut was still recognizable. Raya, on the other hand, was a more stylized creature, with a coat in shades of green. Her unruly hair was now an untamed mane, with a single curved horn rising from her forehead.
The two looked at each other in silence for a long minute, until Raya broke the ice by approaching Namaari whom she took by the muzzle, examining her with a mixture of fascination and surprise.
-Incredible- Raya murmured -You really are a dragon.
Namaari snorted, arching an eyebrow wryly. -Look who's talking- she replied with a smirk.
Raya blushed slightly -Yes, well... I was wrong- she admitted, scratching her head with a claw.
He stood up and walked awkwardly, bumping some furniture with his tail.
-Hey, what do we do now?- he asked, without losing his smile.
Namaari, who was still tangled in the sheet, looked at her with a mixture of exasperation and amusement.
-Wait for Sisu and Pengu- she said as she tried to untangle herself.
Raya frowned. The idea of standing still for who knows how long didn't appeal to her.
-Or... we can show this to ba- she proposed with a wink -I assure you he'll like this-
Namaari shook her head -Wait!- he shouted, trying to follow her. But her hind legs got tangled in the sheet, causing her to fall to the floor and curse under her breath as she heard Raya's mocking laughter.
Reincorporating didn't take him long, but walking without wreaking havoc with his tail was a different story, he felt clumsy, but there wasn't much he could do about it. As she stepped out into the hallway, she saw Raya waiting for her and turned as she noticed the confused looks of some guards, she looked down and approached her friend.
-Where do you think your father is- she murmured.
-It's early, so he could be waiting for breakfast- answered Raya and started walking, this time being a little more careful not to hit anything.
As they walked through the corridors, they encountered some servants who did not recognize them and gave them the treatment of a dragon. Namaari felt embarrassed, but Raya instead puffed out her chest and acted in a prouder manner. In response, the princess of Fang looked at her disapprovingly.
They both arrived at the dining hall where Chief Benja was sitting, probably waiting for them both to wake up unaware that they were now a pair of dragons.
As they entered, Raya turned to her father with a mischievous grin on her face.
-Good morning, ba!- she exclaimed, bowing exaggeratedly.
Chief Benja stared in bewilderment at the dragon in front of him. It was obvious that he did not know him, but he recognized the tone of his voice.
-Dewdrop!?- He asked with his mind struggling to comprehend what his eyes were seeing. -What is happening?-
-The magic of the bracelets finally activated- exclaimed Raya as her tail wagged excitedly -now i'm a dragon, just like Sisu!-
Benja's gaze fell on the other dragon accompanying Raya -Namaari?- she nodded, her face reflecting a mixture of apprehension and excitement.
The chief sighed, trying to take in the surreal scene unfolding before him. -Well, this certainly upsets our plans for breakfast- he muttered, trying to lighten the mood. -I guess we can only wait for Sisu to arrive and clear all this up-
As they settled back down for breakfast, Raya and Namaari narrated their transformation and Sisu's account of the ancient legend. Benja listened intently, his mind seeking to connect the pieces. He did not remember any legend similar to the one he was told, but perhaps the passage of time had altered it and it was different from the version the dragons knew.
-What about Virana- Benja asked in a sympathetic tone, imagining that the woman would surely have a similar reaction to his.
Namaari cleared his throat, -I was supposed to spend the night here- she confessed, his eyes lowered -And going home today... uhmm... This... this wasn't in the plans-
Raya let out a nervous laugh -I thought the bracelets didn't work-
The princess of Fang nodded her head, her voice laced with uncertainty -I don't think Mom will be upset, but she'll have a lot of questions-
A deep sigh escaped her lips as she turned her gaze toward the entrance, longing for the arrival of the other dragons -I just want Sisu and her brother to clear everything up for her-
The trio finished their breakfast, a task made more challenging by the princesses' newly acquired claws and their lack of dexterity with their dragon forms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was almost noon when they received word of the arrival of Sisu Datu and his brother Pengu, a mixture of relief and anticipation filling the air as they waited.
The echo of footsteps echoing in the great hall alerted the trio who exchanged expectant glances as the door slowly opened. Sisu Datu, accompanied by her brother Pengu, crossed the threshold.
Sisu, with his usual beaming smile, greeted the group. -Greetings, my dear friends- she said in a cheerful tone -I'm sorry I'm late, but…- His voice faded when he saw the two dragonesses. He approached them with enthusiasm, exclaiming -Wooo! So the magic finally worked!- she turned his attention to Raya, arching an eyebrow -Well, it seems you were wrong- he commented mischievously -you owe me an apology-
Raya, always proud and reluctant to admit mistakes, let out a snort in response. Pengu, on the other hand, looked at the two dragons with a sympathetic smile. He had an idea of what was going on between them and how this had delayed the manifestation of the magic of the bracelets, but he preferred to let both princesses realize it.
-Chief Benja, princesses- Pengu addressed the group, his voice serene and gentle -I hope my little sister's antics haven't caused you too much trouble. I imagine you are waiting for a deeper explanation about the magic that affected them-
Both princesses shook their heads in silence, and Sisu, giving way, allowed her sister to continue speaking -Sisu told them about the legend, but not all the details- Pengu began -the lovers indeed reincarnated as dragons, but they fled from everyone, leaving behind only the bracelets created with the help of their magic- He turned her gaze towards the two dragons. -This event was the origin of the rivalry between the two clans who blamed each other for what happened- He paused to observe the group's reactions before continuing, -The stone creature, on the other hand, remains a mystery. However, I suspect that the inability to remove the bracelets is related to this being-
Raya couldn't help but feel a twinge of intrigue. -Really?- she asked, her voice cracking with doubt. -The green dragon shook his head -According to what Sisu told me- he explained in a deep and resonant voice -it seems that he is more interested in you two, perhaps he mistook you for the lovers of the legend, and that's why he pursued you-
The princess of Fang stood up, her gaze firm and penetrating, -Do you think he can escape from the temple- she asked with a serious tone.
Sisu and Pengu exchanged complicit glances, a spark of understanding shining between them.
-My sister and I went to inspect- Pengu began, his voice serene and reassuring -And we confirmed that the creature is still inside, though it seems bent on breaking free- the water dragon nodded solemnly. -However, we don't think it will escape- She scratched her chin thoughtfully and Pengu completed the explanation, "It would be advisable to keep an eye on it.
Chief Benja and the princesses fell into a reflective silence, each absorbed in their own thoughts. After a few moments of deliberation, the chief broke the silence, his voice ringing with authority -I can send some scouts to help guard the entrance- he said firmly, addressing the datu brothers, who nodded in agreement.
-However, it would be wise to investigate the legend further- suggested the green dragon -Our siblings could help us seek information from other dragons or even the tribes- he added with a serious touch.
Namaari nodded decisively -Can we send a message to Fang?- she asked Chief Benja, her voice tinged with trepidation -The man looked at her with understanding, his eyes reflecting a paternal warmth -Don't worry-he assured her with a reassuring smile -I'll send a messenger hawk to inform them of the situation-
The dragon took the floor again, his voice echoing with enthusiasm, -Sisu can help you control your new abilities- he said with a gentle smile directed at the princesses. -It looks like they still need some practice at this- he pointed out with a mischievous wink in his eyes.
Her sister, the water dragon, lit up with a spark of joy, -Yes, yes!! I can teach you everything I know about being a dragon- she exclaimed with fervor -How to use magic, swim... and fly! Ohh!- she clapped her claws with glee, her eyes sparkling with excitement, -you two love to fly!- so without realizing it, she became immersed in a lively conversation with her friends on the subject, not noticing that Pengu and Chief Benja were still talking about the creature and the legend, their voices intertwining in a murmur as they devised a plan to contain the creature and unravel the mysteries of the legend.
At the end of their heated discussion, they informed the girls of the agreed plan. It was simple but effective: heart and Pengu's scouting party would guard the temple, keeping the creature under control while the rest of their siblings searched for information. As for Sisu, she would be in charge of training the princesses, guiding them in mastering their new abilities.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In one of the castle's private gardens, Sisu, Raya and Namaari were in the middle of a peculiar training session. The atmosphere was closer to a game between friends than a formal lesson.
Sisu hovered around Raya and Namaari, giving instructions with an infectious smile. -Girls, girls, focus!- she exclaimed. -Imagine the magic flowing through your bodies like a river!-
The princess of Fang looked at the blue dragon with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. -Excuse me, Sisu- she interjected in her calm voice -could you be more specific about the sensation? I'm a little confused-
Sisu smiled broadly -Ah, Namaari, always so analytical! Don't worry, it's not about thinking, it's about feeling. Close your eyes, breathe deeply and let the feeling guide you- She pointed to raya who seemed to be doing better -just let yourself go-
Namaari, although hesitant, decided to follow Sisu's instructions. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply, concentrating on the warmth that ran through her body. Gradually, a sense of power and energy began to flow through her.
Sisu clapped her hands enthusiastically -Magnificent! You are learning so fast. Now they just need to focus and try to shape their magic- Although the dragoness was not entirely sure that both princesses had similar magic to the rest of the dragons.
However, to everyone's surprise, they both seemed to possess some elemental magic.
Raya had managed to lift a few small rocks off the ground, clearly demonstrating that her magic was earth magic. For her part, Namaari had managed to pull a few sparks of flame from her hand, confirming her mastery of fire.
-That's it!- exclaimed the water dragoness with obvious joy -both can use elemental magic!-
She cupped her chin and narrowed her eyes in thought. -She nodded her head and sat down on the floor next to them -But I think that's enough for now. I don't think it's a good idea for them to overexert themselves- She smiled broadly -and now they know it's not so easy to be a dragon-
Raya gave Sisu a playful nudge -That time I said it as a joke- she shook her head. Meanwhile Namaari let out a stifled chuckle as she watched the interaction of the two
-Okay, okay, maybe I shouldn't have taken it so literally- said Sisu -But I'm serious, it's just as complicated as being a human-
Both princesses nodded their heads, although inside they knew that being a dragon was something more complex, it was a deep connection with nature and harmony with the world around them.
The group of friends spent the rest of the day talking and playing with their magic until the sun began to set behind the horizon, tinting the sky in shades of orange and pink. It was time to say goodbye, and they did.
As Sisu walked away, Raya and Namaari headed towards the palace and as they entered a guard approached them to inform them that dinner was ready and that Fang's delegation would arrive the next day. Namaari thanked him for the information and, once the guard had left, she turned to Raya with a shy smile.
-It's been an interesting day, don't you think?- asked the princess of Fang, breaking the silence that had settled between them.
Raya nodded her head, still processing everything she had experienced -Yes, the truth is that I didn't expect to become a dragon and learn elemental magic in a single day- she answered with a mixture of amazement and excitement.
Namaari was silent for a moment, watching the dragoness beside her. She wanted to say something else, but the princess of Heart stepped forward. -Uhm... Do you think after dinner we could talk?- she asked in a soft voice, changing the subject.
Namaari looked into her eyes and instantly understood what she wanted to say.
The princess of Fang also had something to say, something they both needed to express. The night before, their meeting had been interrupted by the arrival of the guard, but now they had the opportunity to talk about what had happened, unhurriedly and without interruption.
A whirlwind of emotions swept over her, she felt a mixture of nervousness and excitement, she knew that the night before Raya had initiated everything, but she was afraid that it had just been the heat of the moment and that he didn't feel the same way about her. After all, he had betrayed her in the past and had only complicated her life by pursuing her. Did she really deserve his affection?
With her heart pounding, Namaari nodded -Sure…- she replied softly -I want to talk too-
That night, after dinner, the two princesses went to Raya's room and sat next to each other, ready to open their hearts and face their emotions. The room was illuminated by the dim moonlight filtering through the window and the lamp on the bedside table, creating an intimate and cozy atmosphere.
Raya took a deep breath, feeling the words stuck in her throat. She wanted to express everything she felt for Namaari, but the words just didn't seem to flow. Finally, she took a deep sigh and plucked up her courage.
-Namaari- she said in a trembling voice -I don't know how to say this, but... since we started traveling together, something has changed. I feel different when I'm near you... I feel a connection I've never experienced with anyone before- Namaari stared at her.
Namaari stared at her, her eyes shining with intensity -I feel something similar too- she confessed in a soft voice -At first, I didn't know how to explain it, but now I understand, you are different from anyone else I've ever met, you are brave, intelligent and kind. You make me feel... happy just by looking at you-
An emotionally charged silence took over the room. Both princesses looked into each other's eyes, their hearts beating in unison. At that moment, they didn't need words to understand each other. The connection they had forged during their journey was undeniable, and now it had transformed into something deeper.
Raya leaned forward, invading the fang warrior's personal space a bit -Namaari- she whispered -I want to be with you. No matter what the future holds, I want you to know that I like you-
Namaari smiled and was thankful she was a dragon at that moment because otherwise she would be completely red in the face, the only thing she couldn't hide was the way her tail wagged back and forth when she heard that her feelings were reciprocated -I... I like you too- she answered with a trembling voice.
Raya wasn't very opportune with her words when she was embarrassed so with a mischievous smile she changed the subject slightly -You know, I regret not kissing you yesterday- she said in a playful tone -Now that we are dragons, we don't have lips.... I guess that's a good reason to solve this bracelet thing- she added with a nervous chuckle.
Namaari, without looking away, leaned slightly towards Raya, seeking her warmth. She didn't know how to respond to the Heart princess's joke, but at that moment she just wanted to enjoy her company, but without realizing it, she began to emit a sound similar to a cat's purr, a soft and husky sound that expressed her affection.
Raya, couldn't help but notice the peculiar sound -Dragons purr?- she asked with a mixture of surprise and amusement, raising an eyebrow mischievously. -Oh... oh, you really love me huh?- she teased, causing Namaari's fur to bristle slightly.
The princess of Fang, without losing her feline features, hissing in response to the teasing which elicited more laughter from the princess of Heart, who found it hilarious that, even in her dragon form, Namaari retained her cat-like essence.
Both dragonesses looked into each other's eyes, their expressions mixing amusement with tenderness. At that moment, words seemed unnecessary, body language, sounds and looks spoke for themselves, conveying a deep connection between the two.
Raya, with an affectionate gesture, rubbed her head against Namaari's head. -Don't worry- she said in a soft voice -We can also enjoy this purr you have discovered- she added with a knowing smile.
Both dragonesses snuggled together seeking the warmth and comfort of each other's company.
Raya leaned against Namaari, feeling the softness of her fur. The princess of Fang, in response, purred lightly, a sound that filled Raya's heart with peace.
A comfortable silence fell over them, only interrupted by the sound of her breathing and the chirping of crickets in the distance. Both dragonesses closed their eyes, letting the peace of the room envelop them.
As the night wore on, exhaustion took hold of them both. The intense emotions they had experienced had drained their energy. Without realizing it, they began to yawn, their eyelids grew heavy and their bodies felt heavier and heavier.
Gradually, sleep overcame them, their bodies relaxed, their minds calmed down and they sank into a deep sleep.
Notes:
🔸I don't think dragons can purr but maybe make a very similar sound when they are in trust or with someone they are fond of.
🔸Yes I gave Raya earth magic since I didn't want her to hace water magic like Sisu, plus it will come in handy later on just like Namaari's magic.
🔸I think this time I did a better job with the design of their dragon forms, I hope they manage to identify their traits and similar elements to their tribes.****

Chapter Text
A loud roar echoed in the palace gardens when Raya ran trying to propel herself to take flight, however, her body did not respond as she expected, her paws sank into the ground and a stumble made her fall face first on the grass.
Namaari, observing her partner's failed attempt, took a breath and threw herself into the challenge, imitating the movements she had seen in Sisu, she propelled herself upwards. But the force of gravity overcame her, forcing her back to the ground with a thud.
Raya, leaned back on the grass and sighed with resignation —Sisu I think we need a break— she muttered with her gaze lost in the sky and sighed deeply, despite having started practicing early in the morning they still couldn't get off the ground even a little bit, something that was obviously frustrating them.
Sisu, observed the two dragons —Oh, I thought they would learn faster— he commented with a touch of surprise —They were handling elemental magic much better yesterday— she added, recalling the previous day's progress.
Namaari, scratching her cheek with a thoughtful expression, replied —Flying is very different...... The idea of falling from heights scares me a lot— she confessed.
And Raya had an idea —What if we try the river? If we fall, at least we won't get hurt— she explained, looking at the Fang warrior, who seemed to consider the idea with interest.
Sisu, pondered the proposal —It's a good idea— she finally said with a broad smile —Besides, if they fall into the water, they can swim— she added, wagging her tail enthusiastically —But I warn you, it won't be so easy to keep up with me if we're underwater," he exclaimed with a hint of pride in his voice.
With a little more encouragement, the three of them headed to a quiet area in the river where they could practice calmly, the three dragones continued walking to the edge of the river where Sisu again gave them instructions —Concentrate your magic under your paws and imagine you are running on the ground— he extended his paw and showed them how to make a platform —just try to feel the water in the environment and how with each step you take it becomes firm—
Raya and Namaari determined to meet the challenge, looked at each other with complicity and encouraged each other.
—Here we go!— exclaimed Raya with determination Namaari followed closely behind, with a glint of bravery in her eyes.
This time, the results were a little better Raya managed to stay in the air for a few seconds, while Namaari managed to perform a small spin in mid-air.
After hours of effort and several failed attempts, the sky became the training stage for Raya and Namaari, the two princesses, with steely determination in their hearts, were not willing to give up, even though the sun was beginning to decline and Fang's delegation was already at the palace, causing Namaari's impatience to begin to take hold of her.
In one last attempt, Raya concentrated deeply, felt the wind caress her mane and with a final push ran towards the lake, she jumped with all her might, feeling the energy flowing through her body and lifting her higher and higher, finally! she had managed to reach a considerable height.
The success of her girlfriend, awakened the competitive side of the fang warrior, who imitated her partner's movements until she too soared into the air.
Together, the two dragons soared through the sky, performing pirouettes and acrobatics with a fluidity that contrasted with their clumsy beginnings.
Joy and satisfaction flooded their hearts, they had achieved what at first they thought impossible.
After a few minutes of flying, they both descended on the shore of the lake, exhausted but full of pride where Sisu was waiting to congratulate them on their achievement.
—Congratulations!— he exclaimed —The sky is now your limit— She clapped her hands enthusiastically feeling excited by the princesses' progress. —I told You two would love being able to fly— she added with a wink. —Well— Sisu continued, "they still need to go higher, but now they can try on their own." She pointed to the sky, where the clouds were tinged with orange and pink colors. —Uhh!... I think it's time to go back to the palace— she finally said —We still need to talk to your mother, Namaari—
Both princesses nodded enthusiastically at Sisu's suggestion to return to the palace, but Raya, with a mischievous smile on her face, couldn't resist the temptation to propose a final challenge. —I bet I can beat You both in a race!— she exclaimed with a broad grin and without giving them time to react, she took flight toward the palace, leaving Sisu and Namaari behind and at a disadvantage.
The water dragon, far from being annoyed, shook her head with an amused smile and turned to see Namaari, who had a determined look on her face, and together they took flight.
The aerial chase became a dance of colors and laughter Sisu, with her experience and agility, easily caught up with Raya and gave her a light playful push, saying —Sorry, but I think I win this time— and without much effort, she left her behind.
Finally, the three dragons landed in the main garden of the palace —That was a good attempt to catch up with me— Sisu said proudly, looking at the two princesses who were exhausted —But I think it will be more fun when they improve their flying skills—
Raya, still with the taste of defeat in her mouth, let out a mock snort of annoyance and looked at Namaari. —Well, at least I beat you— she said with a defiant smile. Namaari, in response, gave her a serious and amused look, after all she found his girlfriend's childish and competitive attitude cute.

The little group burst into the palace, they walked through the corridors until they reached the guest hall, where the Chief Virana was, accompanied by Atitaya and one of her guards.
Virana noticed the entrance of three dragons, but she only recognized Sisu, the water dragon. The Chiefess could not avoid arching an eyebrow with intrigue and Benja smiled when she saw her reaction.
Sisu, oblivious to the tension, greeted with her usual energy —-Greetings, Chief Benja! Chief Virana, you look more radiant than the last time I saw you!— Namaari, the beige-furred dragoness next to Sisu, snorted at her friend's attempt at a compliment, but let her keep talking.
—I imagine you're wondering why Namaari didn't return to fang— Sisu said, getting straight to the point as usual —You see, there was a little mishap... and well, let's just say that her daughter is now.... a dragoness!— Sisu pointed at the princess, now transformed into a majestic creature.
Virana raised an eyebrow in disbelief, looking at the two dragons and then at Benja, a wry smile tugged at her lips. —I can't believe they all planned this prank together, it's original, I admit... but…— The Chief couldn't finish the sentence as she noticed the unwavering seriousness in the man's eyes.
Raya, who had so far remained silent, tried to lighten the mood with a joke, but her father glared at her, shutting her up immediately.
The fang boss's wry smile was replaced by an expression of absolute seriousness. She frowned as she looked at Namaari, now turned into an imposing dragoness and a stony silence took over the room.
—Namaari... Have you really turned into a dragon? — murmured Virana in a trembling voice, as if she could not believe her eyes.
The princess, still assuming her dragon form, nodded solemnly. —Yes, mother. There was an accident with magic and... well…—
Virana recognized her daughter's voice and staggered slightly, feeling the weight of the news hit her squarely, she leaned on her cane and her gaze shifted to Sisu, who was watching her with a mixture of nervousness and discomfort.
—Sisu…—began Virana, her voice cracking with surprise. —What happened?—
Sisu, feeling guilty, lowered her head —I'm sorry, Chief Virana, it was an accident, I swear... I thought this would last less time—
At that moment, Benja intervened —Chief Virana, I promise you that your daughter is fine, she's still the same as always, she just has a new look now—
Virana sighed, massaging her temples in frustration. —This is... a lot to take in— she turned to Benja with a questioning look on her face. —How can you possibly be so calm?— she asked in a serious tone. —Your daughter has also become a mythical creature and you act like it's no big deal—
Benja, with his usual calm and serenity, replied, —I understand your surprise and concern however, I assure you that they will be fine— the woman looked at him skeptically —I don't have all the answers Chief Virana, but what I do know is that we must remain calm and work together to find a solution—
At that moment, Namaari, in her dragon form, approached them. —Mother, don't worry about me. I'm fine, Sisu and his brothers are trying to help us and we will surely find a way to reverse the magic soon—
Virana, with a sympathetic look, takes a deep breath to calm herself. —I understand, Namaari, but this has all come up unexpectedly— she said as she reached up to stroke the fur on her daughter's cheek. —I have every confidence that you will find a solution— A faint smile lit up her face before she turned to speak to Raya and Sisu. —For now, I think it is necessary for me to have a conversation with Chief Benja about this incident— A brief silence preceded her next instruction —Please give the two of us some space— she asked the three dragons and their escorts as they stepped back
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
—Phew! Good thing it all went better than I expected!—exclaimed the princess of Heart in a whisper as she approached Namaari down the hallway —Do you think this is the right time to reveal to them about us?—
Namaari stopped in her tracks and from the way her fur bristled it was a clear sign that it wasn't the best idea —For now, no…— the Fang warrior replied, cautiously looking around to make sure no one overheard them. —One thing at a time, okay?— Raya shrugged and nodded in agreement, just as Sisu approached them.
—I don't mean to interrupt your conversation— the water dragon said with an impish grin that bared her sharp fangs —but I've been talking to Atitaya about dinner and.... I'm fiercely hungry!— she looked at both princesses with pleading eyes, similar to those of a sad puppy —Would you like to eat with me?— she asked, managing to convince her friends instantly.
—Okay, okay!— agreed Namaari, agreeing with her girlfriend —After all, we haven't eaten anything since breakfast—
The group headed for a room near the kitchen, a more intimate space intended for informal meals.
Normally, the army general would have left her princess alone with her friends, however, Sisu invited her, this one had even taken her human form.
—I didn't want to leave Atitaya alone as the only person here— she explained with a cheerful smile.
Namaari couldn't help but arch an eyebrow at Sisu's oddity, but decided not to mention anything and turned to the general, who was watching her with curiosity mixed with concern —Namaari— the general began, —I have so many questions how did they end up like this, what's it like to be a dragon, can they use magic?—
The warrior sighed, she knew these questions would come sooner or later —We'll explain everything over dinner— she replied, trying to calm the woman down —For now, I think it's best if we eat something—
While they waited for dinner, Namaari and Raya answered some of the general's questions, told her how they had found the temple, how the bracelets turned them into dragons, and how they had narrowly escaped the creature that dwelt within. Most of the conversation, however, was taken up by Sisu.
The water dragon seemed more than happy to tell Atitaya about the legend of the lovers, she told her the story of tragic love, while gesticulating exaggeratedly and emitting sounds imitating the characters in the story, which caused laughter among Namaari, Raya and the general.
When dinner arrived, the group sat around a small table in a room adjoining the kitchen, the food was simple but delicious, and conversation flowed easily. Namaari was grateful for the opportunity to spend time with her friends and with the general, who seemed to have accepted the situation more easily than she expected.
The rest of the dinner passed in a pleasant atmosphere, Namaari, Raya and Sisu shared stories about their recent dragon training, while Atitaya listened attentively, asking questions from time to time.
Dinner seemed to be over and they were about to retire when a guard entered —Princesses!— he exclaimed, making the gem symbol with his hands and bowing —Sorry to interrupt but, we received a message from the scouting party and your parents wish to see you immediately—
Namaari and Raya exchanged a concerned look, General Atitaya and Sisu also stood up —And you, General— the guard continued —your presence is also requested—
With hearts racing, the princesses and their companions made their way toward the meeting hall.
What could be so urgent that required their immediate presence?
Did the stone creature manage to escape from the temple?
Notes:
Sorry for the delay, I just had a slight block with this fic, but I hope to be able to publish the rest of the chapters in the following months
About Virana's expression I want you to imagine her as Anton Ego when he thinks it's a joke that Remy is the chef
---------------->>>
On the other hand I started some short fic of this ship as a personal challenge for October, so dedicate a little more energy to publish at least 15 short fics during the month
