Work Text:
- Whenever anyone asks you how the hell you ended up with a man nearly twice your age, you insist that neither of you knew eachother’s age when you initially met.
- In your defense, Ichiban looks quite young for his age, you thought he was in his mid to late thirties, not mid fourties.
- In Ichiban’s defense… Well it’s Ichiban we’re talking about here, dude was in prison for eighteen years, not to mention he’s oblivious as fuck. I’d like to think that he wouldn’t know a woman’s age unless it was blatantly obvious.
🦞
- You both were head over heels for eachother by the time you both found out, and decided to just roll with it. After all, “age is only a number” right?
🦞
- Even though you two are happy as can be, Ichiban gets self-conscious about his age more often than not, he frequently asks you if you’re really okay with dating such an “old guy” and whatnot.
- Of course, you always re-assure him that he’s the one you picked. Not to mention you like older guys anyways, so it kind of worked in his favor.
🦞
- When you and Ichiban have been together for awhile and he finally musters the courage to propose, his proposal is filled with apologies for his age and that he wouldn’t be hurt (lies) if you didn’t want to marry someone so much older than yourself. He’d say similar stuff when bringing up the topic of kids.
- Ichiban probably only will stop worrying about your age gap once you two finally tie the knot. Even though he knows separation is an option for you both, he believes that the fact that you two made it this far proves you love him for him, regardless of his age.
🦞
- If you have a lot more experience than him (likely)… It’ll be a little jarring for him, he feels pretty damn embarrassed that you’re the one showing him the ropes when it comes to intimacy.
- He’ll take charge if you really want, but he’s more than happy to sit back and learn from you.
🦞
- If you’re a college student, he’s constantly cheering you on and helping you with your late-night studying.
- He’s pretty godawful when it comes to book-smarts, but it’s the thought that counts. He’ll make flashcards and ask you questions even if he doesn’t understand the material too well.
