Work Text:

Atsumu lived for moments like these.

Moments where he could lay in his lover's arms and bask in the sunset seeping through the windows. Golden hues coloring his world as Kiyoomi took his hand and intertwined it with theirs.

As twilight came and went. As day turned to dusk and dusk became night. Despite the warmth of the sun being overcome by the coldness of the moon. Together in the room of blue they lay, content and satisfied.

These fleeting moments were few and far in between. Coming and going like the seasons. Long distances were hard on the young couple. But on the welcome occasion that either was in town, the two became inseparable. Reveling in each other's company.

And so, Atsumu lay there, content and satisfied. Holding his beloved tight knowing his stay was coming to an end and he had to return home the next day.

No words had to be spoken between them, their actions said it all. Neither wanted the other to go.

The new day came and as the sun rose the two were forced to part ways. But even as Atsumu stalled at Kiyoomi's door, well knowing that his family was waiting, he found any and every excuse to stay even a few minutes longer. Even as the growing anxiety in his stomach turned to frustration.

In this moment he knew that this was not a goodbye, but a see you soon. That knowledge calmed the pit in his stomach for he knew that before long, their paths would cross again.

And every little moment he spent with Kiyoomi, though insignificant and ordinary to most, was special and held dear in his heart. So even after he waved, see you soon. Even after he arrived at his own home and unpacked his bag. Atsumu knew that he could never be alone.

Checking his phone he saw the awaited call, and laying in his bed he answered it.

"Hey," the voice on the other side greeted.

With a smile Atsumu replied, "Hey, I miss you."

There, in his own room of blue, in that very moment that he lived for, Atsumu felt a rush of rosy love.
