Illusion

Summary:

Angst maybe

Work Text:

In the hallway of the school, echoing the footsteps of a student. It was from no one but Oliver, the only person who dares to show up at school at such a time. He seemed to have been familiar with this wrongdoing, breaking into the school, escaping the guards’ sight like it was his second nature. However, Oliver didn’t care about how his trespassing could drag him in some “troubles”, the only thing that he was concerned about was seeing his girlfriend, Alice.
Standing in front of an ordinary door with the words “Keep out” on, Oliver slowly spun the doorknob. He remembered the smell of this room, the smell of withering animal corpses, but always a pleasant smell to him. Oliver loved everything about Alice. Her voice, her smile, her appearance, the way she talks, the way she eats and the way she smiles are so graceful and lovely. Oliver appreciated every second he spent with his princess, with his love.
- Princess Alice! Do you miss me?
He said with an enthusiastic voice, however, there was no response.
Oliver stood still in Alice’s room, everything was still there, the presents he gave Alice, each of them are still in good condition, meaning that Alice had been very careful with those dedicated things. Nevertheless, Alice wasn’t in the room.
  Therefore, there was no answer.
In fact, there wouldn’t be any answer.
Simply because Alice had been “executed”.
  Droll, wasn’t it.
Everything happened at a glimpse, it was so fast and so unreal that Oliver refused to believe it.
He refused to believe that his girlfriend had gone forever.
Why did Oliver find himself dumbfounded when there was nobody in that familiar room.
Why did he keep defying the fact that Alice was gone.
Oliver kept standing there, he was nothing but a fool. He kept doing the same thing for the person who had already gone. Oliver's memories had stopped at the the last day he met Alice. Therefore, this might not be the first time he broke into the school after her “execution”.
He gave out a sigh and raised his voice again:
- You don’t seem to be ok my princess. I think we should meet again when you are in good condition. I have a lot to tell you so I hope you will get well soon, my love.
Oliver then got out of Alice's room, he carefully closed the door and left in silence.
He will come back tomorrow, when his girlfriend is better. After all, Alice would still be there with him, she will always be in that room and wait for him.
At least that’s what Oliver thought.
