Chapter Text
To be honest, Gilbert burnt off a chunk of hair a year back.
Arguing with Ida, trying to straighten his hair he felt something warm fall into his lap and in front of him was a small chunk of his own hair. Turning the straightener off and putting it down, Ida looked like she’d seen a ghost as Gilbert turned to her.
To be honest, Gilbert has been eating food off the floor when it falls.
Eating his dinner with the other kids he dropped his cookie on the floor, no one looking to him as he frowned. He really thought about it and he ate the cookie off the floor. It was still good.
To be honest, Gilbert used to have long hair.
He was praised for it, pretty blonde curly hair down to his waist. People would say he had terrible behavior, but they still thought he was pretty. Eventually a little girl came to the orphanage, her red hair so matted they had to cut it down to her shoulders. Gilbert stood in front of her, trying to calm her down. “I’m the only one here with short hair! It’s not fair!” She kept crying, over and over, late into the night. Ida was annoyed, Mio was frustrated, everyone understood but that didn’t make her any quieter. He did what he could, and yes, he did regret cutting his hair but she stopped crying. She loved her hair after that, she brushed it twice a day and put bows and clips in it. Gilbert was left with short curly hair, and he still wishes it was long.
To be honest, Gilbert jammed his door a week before meeting Ida.
Angry about something stupid, arguing with that old woman he couldn’t ever remember the name of he slammed his door after running into his room. A while later he needed to get out for dinner and the door wouldn’t open. He shook the handle, kicked it, before realising he was stuck in his room. “My door is stuck! Let me out!”
To be honest he was let out two hours later when the little redhead girl got the old woman.
