In the Rhodes Island GYM, the shouts and thuds of both Matoimaru and Gast can be heard filling the air, The two onis have been practising together for well over an hour and things are starting to heat up.
“Haah! Hiyaa!”
Gast aimed for the stomach area and the legs but Matoimaru was quick enough to block them but barely.
THUD, PUNCH
“oof....hmph….!” Matoimaru blocked two more strikes from Gast and she started to look tired from his sudden aggression. Sweating and breathing heavily, Matoimaru seems to slowly soften up against his punches.
With an excited grin on his face, Gast takes the closest opportunity to duck and swipe her legs and pin her down to claim his victory.
What he didn't know, however, is that he fell in Matoimaru’s trap.
As the young oni tried to swipe his partner’s legs, she jumped just in time to avoid his attack.
He couldn't believe that he fell for her deception and let his arrogance get the best of him…..again!
The nomadic warrior in the air grinned at the assassin of flames, proud of herself that she managed to fool him with her trick, it was time to punish his attack with a counter!
She strikes a kick towards his face mid-air while he is still recovering from his shock.
Meanwhile Gast is still in a state of shock and disbelief of what just happened earlier until he snaps back to reality as he saw Matoimaru kick was coming towards him.
Just barely enough, he crosses his arms above his face to block her kick at an amazing speed while still maintaining his posture.
“Tch, you…”
Matoimaru, frustrated, decided to backflip away of his arms; she didn't expect her counter would get blocked this easily.
Out of nowhere, the young man caught her leg as she tried to backflip her way out of his block when she was mid-air. She was visibly shocked yet amazed at how quick he pulled that move against her.
She was refusing to be defeated and tried to break free but Gast's clutch was too tight to break away from, there was nothing she could do….
Soon enough she will get pinned and be declared defeated.
In a twist of fate, Gast throws Matoi across the GYM flying instead.
He unconsciously used his oni strength more than necessary, throwing her at a high velocity.
“Shit! M-Matoimaru!” He shouted, but it was already too late…
“Waaah!” she yelled while flying towards the GYM equipment.
Few moments later, Matoimaru crashed against the GYM equipment causing a very loud noise.
Makoto immediately rushed towards her, panicked and became pale, he couldn't believe that he messed up this badly. It was supposed to be a normal sparring session, this wasn't supposed to happen, He thought to himself.
He arrives towards the crash site and quickly removes all the debris off of her as quickly as possible.
Both the tension of the room and Matoimaru’s silence made his heart beat even faster, he was in deep regret of what he had just done to his best friend.
Moments later, he sighs in relief after he lifts all the debris and sees Matoimaru dizzy but unharmed.
“Matoimaru, Are you ok!?” he asked worriedly.
“ughhh...I'm fine…no worries.” she said while looking dizzy.
He sighed at her reassurance. He took her hand to raise her from the ground and check for any injuries.
“Goodness….you are fine!” He embraced her tightly “I'm terribly sorry! I-i….didn't mean to…” the hug became tighter.
“Nah, it's fine, Makoto! We onis can't be harmed that easily, remember?” She giggled and hugged him back.
“That’s true, yeah…” he sighed yet again and closed his eyes in her embrace.
The exchanged warmth of their bodies gave Gast a small sense of peace, softening up the hug a little.
Gast always tries his best to test and push Matoimaru’s limits without overworking or harming her and today his biggest fear has happened, making it be a lesson for him to be more cautious in the future
A moment later Gast buries his face onto her neck before tightening up yet again.
“Eh? What's wrong?” She tilted her head feeling the ticklish feeling on her exposed neck “is that you worrying about me, Makoto-kun ~?” She said teasingly.
“Piss off.” he groaned, annoyed because he knew she was speaking the truth and saying otherwise would be an obvious lie.
