Notes:

My first ever fanfic, inspired by the

Work Text:

It was close to midnight when Hinata and Kageyama reached their hotel, both of them tired from the long day of finishing a volleyball tournament (Kageyama's team won of course, much to the distate of Hinata) then heading straight to the airport to catch their flight to Korea for their 1st anniversary celebration.

Kageyama would have never imagined that while it was hard for him too see and be with Hinata back in highschool without actually being with him aka being his boyfriend, it would be way harder to see him and be with him after they confessed their feelings for each other and had actually gotten together.

Its not even the fact that they belong to different volleyball teams is causing the problem but its his and Hinata's overly nosy and jealous teammates and friends who work against him every possible second. Kageyama knows he has many rivals, he has known since high school that he was not the only ones crushing on the beautiful sunshine boy, but Hinata chose him, and that was enough for him.

That should be enough for him.

Right?

It was enough for Kageyama before, but after a year of dating and the furthest they had gone was some heavy petting, Kageyama was left always wanting a little more. But the thing is, he doesn't know how to go further and get more. Sexual activities were always the last thing on his mind growing up, and even when he fell in love with Hinata in high school, it was always very innocent. Yes, he had a wet dream or two (he had more than that really) but they had more pressing things to consider back then, like winning the nationals. He had no time to learn how to seduce the orange head, especially when said boy also shows zero interest in things that is not volleyball.

He is regretting it now, though. He wishes he would have paid attention to how to flirt or something back then. Then maybe we wouldn't be at a loss now. He sees how easy it is for that bastard Miya Atsumu to spew cringy nonsense around his boyfriend. He wouldn't have minded, but he also has seen the adorable blush Hinata would have on his cute face whenever that blonde wannabe says something obscene.
It's unfair. He wants to be the only one to get Hinata to blush. It's unfair that the world gets to see his cute expressions when it should only be for him. Kageyama did try to practice flirting, but all of his attempts just make him look like a constipated creep, or Hinata just takes his flirting out of context. So he did the unthinkable.

Kageyama called up his worst enemy - Oikawa Tooru.

Rivalry and all, Kageyama can admit that Oikawa's flirting game is undefeated. Yes, Oikawa is actually one of his rivals for Hinata, but also- Oikawa is in Argentina. Thousands of miles away from them and the most important thing, he is in a relationship with Iwaizumi. And flirt with Hinata he may. Everyone knows it's harmless as his heart belongs to one person only.

It was not easy getting any actual help from him, of course, but after some scoling from Iwaizumi, Kageyama was able to get some solid advice to book a romantic getaway with just the two of them. So Kageyama planned a week long vacation just for the two of them in Jeju Island with lots of activities fostering skinship and closeness in mind.

He put a lot of effort into this trip. Everything is actually planned to the last dot. But now it seems like his planning is falling apart.

"Apologies, sir, it seems like we have accidentally deleted your reservation," says the slightly trembling receptionist with a shaky voice.

She couldn't be blamed, though, bot when Kageyama is glaring at her like she just told him ahe murdered his entire family.

"What do you mean you deleted our reservation? I made that 3 months ago?" Kageyama said through gritted teeth. He was panicking. This couldn't be happening now.

"Now now, Tobio, don't scare them. Im sure they didn't mean to do it, right, Miss?" Hinata flashed the receptionist his brught smile, and Kageyama can actually see the moment the woman if front of him melt at the sight of his boyfriend's smile. Great another rival.

"Of course, sir! This was our mistake, but it was definitely unintentional. We will definitely make it up to you!" The receptionist seemed to have gotten her strength back and enthusiastically typed on her computer to look for a resolution.

Kageyama was still glaring at her when a warm hand brushed against his lower back, making him turn to look at the warm hazel eyes of his bofriend and his soft encouraging smile.

"Tobio, loosen up. Were supposed to be on vacation" Hinata said, tilting his head ever so slightly, making Kageyama loose his train of thought for a second.

"I know but I just want this to go perfectly!" He breathed, catching Hinata's hands and his and squeezing it for strength.

"This trip needs to be perfect" he thought.

Hinata brought their entertwined hads up his faces, nuzzled it cutely and opened his mouth to say something when the receptionist called their attention back.

"Sorry for the wait sirs, i checked the system and we actually have another room that we could give to you. Its going to be a downgrade from your previous reservation but because of that, we are also offering to cover your stay here until we can give you back your original room" the receptionist beamed, obviously very proud of herself in that moment.

"That's amazing! Thank you so much for that miss!" Hinata gleefully said, "Hear that Tobio? Problem solved we have a room now. Can you tell us the specifics?"

Kageyama relaxed a bit, well at least they wont be homeless tonight and he can still execute his plan. Hinata is right, problem solved.

"Yes Sir, the room available is our family room. Although its not as luxurious as the Sweetheart suite that you originally have, this room has two beds!" The receptionist said cheerfully.

Kageyama froze and his jaw dropped.

Okay so maybe the problem isn't solved?

Kageyama booked the sweetheart suite nit just for its many amenities designed for couples but for also one specific thing. It only has one bed. One bed means that tbey would have to sleep in that one bed, side by side. And then he would have a chance to initiate something and maybe it could lead to something more. Right?

So what does Kageyama do now when his entire plan to seduce his boyfriend is depending on the fact that the room would have one bed but that one bed is now two beds. Oh wait scratch that, 2 queen beds.

Everything is ruined.

Kageyama knows that he is being dramatic but he can't help it. He feels lost now that all his plans are essentially thrown out of the window. He let himself be dragged upstairs to their new room with one bed too many and went through the motions of preparing for bed in a daze.

Hinata was still his usual bright self but even an untrained eye could see that he is also tired. Kageyama sighed and went to the red head who is drying his hair with a towel and just embraced him from behind, burying his face in the fluffy but slightly wet hair.

Hinata twisted his small lithe body and wrapped his arms around Kageyma, squeezing him tight.

"Hey, I know this is not what's in your plans but we can still enjoy this right?" Kagayema moved his head from Hinata's hair too look at his faced and sighed, "You're right, lets go to sleep so we can wake up early tomorrow" Kageyama squeezed the redhead back and released him.

The two of them went to their beds, separately. I mean why wouldn't they when there are two beds available and there are two of them.

With a heavy heart, Kageyama laid down on his bed that feels too big despite it being a queen. He wishes he has the strength to ask Hinata to lay beside hime or even the guts to go to Hinata's bed and just embrace him. But he can't, he wishes that dating is as easy as volleyball, that he will just know what to do and how to do it. But here he was laying alone in a bed while the love of his life is resting on another bed just a few meters away and he can't even muster up the courage to make a move.

Kageyama didn't realize he squeezed his eyes shut from frustration when he felt his bed dip and a small and warm body crawled beside him. He tensed for a moment but then relaxed the next second.

"Hey, I was feeling a bit cold and lonely. Mind if I join you here?" Hinata whispered, his beautiful face hovering above Kageyama's with a small smile.

Kageyama's mind which was swirling with anxiety and negativity screeched to a halt and everything he was thing about was replaced with one thought.

"God, I love this man" he thought.

Kageyama reached up and pulled Hinata to a kiss like he's parched and Hinata is water. His arms amrs wrapped around the small body as he flipped them over so he'll be on top. Hinata responded to his kiss with the same energy he has during a match, with the burning intensity of the sun. So much so that Kageyma had to separate for a bit to catch his breath.

He looked down at Hinata's flushed face and slightly glazed eyes.

"Mine" he thought feverishly.

"I love you" he said, trying to catch his breath, "I love you so damn much Shouyou"

Hinata smiled, reaching up to bring their foreheads together "And I love you too Tobio. Only you"

Kageyama dove in for another kiss, reveling in Hinata's warmth.

Okay, so maybe they didn’t need to have only one bed, right?

The End.
