After searching the depths of Kagutsuchi for days, Major Kisaragi returned to the NOL. His body was weak from exhaustion. Leaning onto his desk for support, he tried to stay awake. His legs were trembling, his feet barely staying flat on the ground. He was about to step over to his desk, but an uninvited visitor entered the room.
"Oh, look at that face! It's definitely not as pretty as I last saw it." The man spoke with that smug tone, as always. Of course, it had to be Captain Hazama. He always left peeled egg shells in Jin's office whenever he'd munch on them. His constant bickering always pissed him off but he couldn't help but be interested in the man.
"I'm not.. in the mood for games." Jin scowled, yawning mid sentence. He was barely keeping up on his feet, causing Hazama to walk over to his side.
"Idiot. All that searching for the Grim Reaper made you look like shit."
He replied, tapping his foot on the floor repeatedly as he looked at the Major's figure.
Jin Kisaragi had been searching for the Grim Reaper for ages. He wanted -- no, he needed to tear him apart. The satisfaction of killing his own brother made him grin with excitement. He was told he was born to oppose Ragna The Bloodedge, and he was devoted to finish the job as an officer. That's what he was desired.
Hazama took a closer look at Jin's appearance in person, thinking of the last time he saw him. His bangs were uneven, adding with his uniform being unkempt. His coat was slightly torn, with many stains of dirt and blood on his tunic. He really was an absolute mess. There was even a glove missing on his left hand. Hazama thought the man could at least get some assistance, as much as he didn't want to. Jin was such a pain, and pretty much a psychopath in terms of finding his brother. But that just made it more fun to tease him.
"I look perfectly fine. Wipe that stupid grin off your face. You.." The Major stood sluggishly, his legs wobbling. His eyes were blinded by the bright lighting of the room, and he was about to stumble over. Jin was thinking in his mind at this moment -- he would stumble and embarrass himself in front of the Captain of all people. He knew Hazama would be snickering when he fell.
But his body made no contact with the floor. Jin's eyes darted to the man in front of his eyes, seeing Hazama's eyelids barely open. He'd never really seen his eyes up personal. His amber pupils made him interested as he started to study his face.
"I got you, Major. Can't have you getting knocked out cold." Hazama's lips twisted into his classic smile, chuckling at his own joke. His arms were wrapped around the Major's as he caught him before falling. It made Jin snap out of his daze, but his heart was beating fast from the close contact.
Jin quickly attempted to try and stand up once more, but he tripped again. Having Hazama repeat the word "Major" whenever he refered to him became annoying. Even though it was required, he somehow felt comfortable with Hazama saying his first name.
"Stop that. I'm fine. And just say Jin, dumbass." He spoke quickly, his mouth set in a hard line but his cheeks were a peach color. The warmth of his face made the Captain amused.
"Oh, well isn't that unique. Is that The Major Kisaragi blushing? How cute." He calls him by his title again just to mess with his head.
What was this man saying? The fact that he just called Jin cute made his mind wonder, making himself overthink and his head ache.
"I'm n..not.. and don't say.. Major.." Jin mumbled, but his voice trailed off from his sleepiness. His eyelids were barely open while the sunlight seeped through the curtains. Though there wasn't any bedrooms around the office they were currently in, Hazama still carried him in his arms.
"Oh dear. You look exhausted. What, do you want me to find you a bedroom and tuck you in?" The Captain rolled his eyes, the tone in his voice becoming sarcastic. But either way, he still wanted to care for him. He walked over to the Major's desk and sat down on the chair. Looking down at his arms, he saw those emerald eyes staring right back up at him before they closed shut. Hazama's eyelids opened just for a moment, showing those glaring yellow pupils as he smiled.
"There there, you can fall asleep right here." The Captain whispered, brushing Jins bangs out of his face. In that single minute, he noticed that Jin was asleep already.
"He's a pain in the ass, but he's so relaxed like this." Hazama muttered to himself, his arms stretching to take off the Major's boots and coat. Jin was now just in the black bodysuit and white tunic he always wore. His breath came out warm, almost hot as his chest rose up and down slowly. Hazama looked at his hand as he then ran his fingers through Jin's blonde hair.
Jin never felt much affection. Not at all, he didn't believe in it. Having to train most of his life and living in a family who he never connected with made it difficult to ever believe in affection. But this felt different. He leaned closer as he hugged the Captain's torso, his head resting on his chest. This caused a smile on Hazama's face once more. Maybe this feeling wasn't so bad after all. It made his stomach turn instead of that agonizing feeling of emptiness inside of him.
"Oh my.. am I going to be stuck here until he wakes up?" Hazama looked around the office, realizing the two were alone. Nothing he could do now. He wouldn't disturb his sleep, so Hazama leaned back in the chair and sighed. His hand pushed Jin's hair away from his skin and his lips made contact with the Major's forehead.
After he parted away, his own body shivered for a split second while warmth rose up to his cheeks. He froze and shook his head. He had no idea what he just did and no idea why he did it. Hazama lifted the other man's body closer to him in a swift motion, making him sit closer to his lap. He was careful enough to prevent waking Jin up, of course. Still, he needed to get out of this at least in an hour or two. Or was he supposed to care for the Major like some baby? He thought about this situation and realized it was more like taking care of him like a significant other. That's one way to spend the day, but at least he'd be able to spend it with him. He could get used to this.
