Vince Deal vs The Decent Breakfast

Summary:

A missing scene for the episode 4.06 The Real Deal. The concrit challenge was to write a missing scene. This becomes another ficlet for The Stakeout series. Jim wants Blair for himself to spent more time with him exploring their new relationship.

Notes:

The sentences in italics are taken from the show. Blair's words about the stuffed animals in the German restaurant stuck with me and was the starter point of the story. Jim likes German food, Blair not enough to ignore the decoration.
The whole episode The Real Deal is full of funny scenes, a light funny episode before the dramatic The Sentinel by Blair Sandburg.
Here you can find all episode transcripts: https://www.kelesa.net/transcripts/. If they refuse to load, try several times and the wayward machine will go to a different time. I recommend to save all episodes, for personal storage.

Work Text:

„C’mon, Vince, you don’t have to do breakfast for us.“

Blair moved around downstairs, trying to corral Vince away from the kitchen. Jim turned around in his bed to get a few more minutes in peace.

Jim: ‚So, what'll it be? A little, uh, a little German? How about that-that German place? Um...

Blair: ‚I can't eat there. You know that. They got animal heads all over the wall. I can't eat with an audience. Come on.‘

Jim smiled remembering Blair’s complaint. The last time at the German restaurant they had sat directly under a stuffed badger sneering down at them. A whole row of deer heads hung on the wall opposite their table judging them. Jim had liked the place for the food, the generous slices of pork roast with thick gravy.

Next time they could try takeout instead.

Jim mused sleepily about their day before. He had fussed with Blair’s jacket, had touched him, when he could get away with it in public. He wanted to get his hands on him again so badly. The case had been boring, so he had rather flirted with Blair, even calling him Romeo.

But what a disappointment, instead of going home to more cuddling or maybe even more than just that, Blair had invited Vince to stay with them. The nosy actor had immediately made himself at home in the loft. And Blair being a perfect host had slept downstairs to keep up the appearances.

Jim stretched up in his bed and peered down. Blair was up and dressed already, Vince was up. With a sigh he got up too and chose to dress all in black according to his bleak mood.

Jim couldn’t hide how grouchy he felt when he came down for breakfast. Not even Blair was his enthusiastic self. The breakfast was horrible and Jim felt the only way to get out of this and have Blair all to himself again was solving that damn murder case.
