Chapter Text
Just another night skating at S. Joe and Cherry bickering while the rest of the gang watch in confusion. It was almost like they enjoyed fighting.
“Should we break them up? They do this every time.” Reki looked over to Langa for some kind of solution. The 17-year-old only shrugged in response.
“It wouldn’t do much if we did. They’ve been like this for years.”
Reki couldn't disagree with that. Cherry and Joe had a special relationship. Most of the time the others had to remind themselves the two weren’t a married couple. Cherry and Joe would watch over Reki, Langa, and Miya as if they were their parents. An example of this was when the group visited the hot springs.
Although annoyed outwardly, Cherry took on an almost motherly role. Making sure their rooms were clean, their food filling, and their clothes presentable. When Joe asked the long-haired man about his behavior he tried to pawn it off as he wouldn’t be embarrassed by the others. However, if that was the case why didn’t he mother shadow? The most likely to embarrass the whole lot. Getting drunk on the first day of their trip.
Not to mention all the nights spent in Sia la Luce eating together like an odd family. Reki learned the hard way that he shouldn't refer to Shadow as the uncle.
Nevertheless, Reki couldn't deny he was curious about their relationship status. Were they secretly married? Boyfriends? Deep in the friend zone?
“I can practically see the smoke coming out of your brain. What are you thinking so hard about?” Langa stared at Reki’s red hair ready to put the fire out once it began.
“Do you think Cherry and Joe could be together?”
Langa’s eyebrows shot up at Reki’s question. “In between the time my brain is filled with skating and food there's not much room. Why?”
“Wouldn't it be fun to find out? Would be a mystery to solve. Like your comic books.”
“Fine. What do I have to do?’
