“Are you sure you four can do it without the help of other disciples or even us, your super strong senior’s?” Wei wuxian grinned teasing the four juniors whilst being worried about their safety because this night hunt won't be an easy one for sure just like any night hunt it won't be too easy as it was reported that a fierce corpse that wanders and attacks in the qinghe nie clan forest but some of the corpse were now in the town attacking people and even reported that some merchants were gone missing and as always nie huisang was asking for their assistance in clearing the fierce corpse
“we will be ok wei-qianbei, and it would be faster if only the four of us go” shizui smiled at his parents who had no shame in showing public display of affection throughout the whole interaction with them
“And besides we're strong now! Thanks to you both for training us!” Jingyi placed his hands on his hips and beamed followed by a zizhen’s energetic ‘yeah!’ in the background
“We also better get going so we could finish it immediately” Jin ling crossed his arms as stood a few feet away from the group as he waits for them
“Alright, alright but if anything happens immediately send an alarm me and lan zhan will go to your location immediately” wei wuxian placed his hand on shizui’s shoulder with a serious look and shizui nodded with the same expression as wei wuxian
“Right lan zhan?~♡” wei wuxian then grinned returning back to normal as he leaned to lan zhan’s chest and looking up at his husband
Lan zhan looked down at wei wuxian then placed his hand on wei wuxian’s waist before nodding “mn.” making wei wuxian shamelessly places his head on lan zhan's neck and they kept on doing being lovey-dovey despite that there are not only four junior disciples but also the disciples guarding the gusu lan gate who could only turn their heads away embarrassed from such scene, you could even see hearts flying around the shameless couple
Jin ling made a disgusted face before he scoffed, shizui could only smile, Jingyi just looked away awkwardly at the scene and well zizhen was just being himself.
Wei ying laughed before pulling Jin ling by the arm much to Jin ling’s surprise and protest while the other three got dragged and trapped into the group hug with lan zhan and wei ying
“Be safe the four of you, protect each other from harm” wei wuxian said tenderly to the four with a smile and lan zhan even gave them a smile making the four of them felt warm on the inside by how caring their seniors are

“We'll get going now, bye bye!”
Jin ling was walking ahead first followed by Jingyi and zizhen and lastly shizui who bowed for the last time at his parents who bowed back with their own smiles and send him off with a wave
As wei wuxian and lan zhan watched them as their figure starts to fade in the distance wei wuxian smile softly “they're growing up so fast” lan zhan looked at him with those yellow eyes before nodding at wei wuxian's words
“Let's go, wei ying” wei ying looked at lan zhan with an awestruck before smiling brightly and nodded “mn!”
but as the two of them walked into the main hall with lan zhan he can't help but feel that something is about to happen, like a gut feeling that tells him something is not right, wie wuxian's eyebrow were knitted together and lan zhan being observer when it comes to his beloved husband know something was wrong so he squeeze wei wuxian's waist softly making his husband looked at him "is wei ying ok?" lan zhan asked softly that made wei wuxian blushed as though a cupid just pierced an arrow into his heart
"aiyaaa lan zhan your making my heart burst out!~" wei ying clinged into lan zhan's arm as they walked futher into the main hall towards the jingshi meanwhile lan zhan just looked at him with a blank stare that made wei ying burst into a small laughter and shake his head "it's nothing just worried about the four of them" wei ying explained and lan zhan nodded
"they'll be ok" lan zhan assured and wei ying just simply nodded 'I do hope they'll be ok'

“Jingyi! Watch out!” Shizui yelled as he pushed Jingyi away because an fierce corpse is about to attack Jingyi but it was too late but luckily it's just a scratched in his arms, not very serious but made the three worry about him
Jin ling immediately killed the fierce corpse and made his way to Jingyi and shizui while zizhen was finishing off the last corpse
“Ahhhhh!!!! Shizui! I'm gonna dieee” Jingyi wailed as shizui is patching the wound to atleast stopped the bleeding in jingyi’s arm and for it wont get infected as Jingyi is almost at tears, he even got teary eyes now for someone who is a lan he sure acts differently
“Stop being dramatic, it's just a scratched it won't kill you” Jin ling rolled his eyes at Jingyi as he placed his sword in the ground as he helps shizui patch Jingyi
“Shut up! You wouldn’t know because you weren’t the one who got scratched!”
“If you weren’t being an idiot you could have dodged the fierce corpse dumb ass!”
“Who are you calling an dumb ass, mistress jin?!”
“Ha?! You wanna fight? I’ll break your legs”
“Wanna bet-”
“Jingyi!” zizhen rushed into them and watched as shizui try to patch jingyi’s wounded arm up while jin ling and jingyi were arguing as usual, zizhen looks incredibly worried for his friend as he look at the three slash on jingyi’s arm he turns to shizui “it’s not a serious wound right shizui?” worried and concerned is what zizhen was feeling in the moment as his eyebrows were knitted together
Shizui looked at the arguing males in front of him with a deadpan expression before looking at zizhen and before smiling “do not worry it is nothing serious and it will heal once we get back to cloud recesses” he told zizhen as he stood up and helped jingyi get on his feet and scanned the forest before holding his hand together
“May your souls rest in peace” shizui prayed and slightly bow to give respect to the fierce corpses who were once human before looking at his friends and smiled “let’s get going” shizui said and the other three agreed, it has been a long day and a proper rest would be the best reward they could get
As the four of them walked away out of the forest a faint yellow glow can be seen in the ground of the dark forest…
