As the morning light breaks, it filters through the sheer curtains, casting a warm, golden glow that dances across the clutter of Junho’s apartment. Today, the air is charged with a mixture of anticipation and the familiar scent of Junho’s cologne mixed with the fresh aroma of coffee. Amidst this sensory tapestry, Junho is a flurry of activity, his presence filling the room as he tosses clothes, a script, and various essentials into a bag that’s already brimming with items.
Yoona leans against the cool frame of the doorway, her arms crossed and a mug of coffee warming her hands. She watches him, an amused yet affectionate smile playing on her lips. She's familiar with this pre-dawn chaos, yet today, it seems amplified by their prolonged, lazy night spent in each other's arms. They had stayed up late, tangled in sheets and conversations that meandered through dreams and desires, laughter echoing softly against the walls.
“Are you sure you’ve got everything?” Yoona asks, her voice a melodious lilt against the morning’s quiet.
Her words are light, teasing even, but her eyes betray a deeper layer of care and concern. She knows how important this role is, another stepping stone in Junho’s already impressive career, and she wants his day to start right.
Junho pauses, a look of mock concentration forming on his face as he pats his pockets, then scans the room. He spots Yoona, her hair cascading over her shoulders in soft waves, eyes sparkling with mischief and love. In three long strides, he closes the distance between them, his hands gently framing her face. He leans down, his lips meeting hers in a kiss that’s both a greeting and a thank you—a moment of softness amid the rush.
“Now I do,” he murmurs, his voice a soft murmur, tinged with laughter. He pulls back slightly, his forehead resting against hers.
Yoona’s cheeks turn a delightful shade of pink. With a playful roll of her eyes, she opens her hand to reveal Junho’s car keys and wallet.
“I meant these, but thanks,” she quips, her tone rich with humor and warmth.
It’s a routine they’ve danced through many mornings, yet it never loses its charm.
Junho’s laughter fills the room, a sound that Yoona loves dearly. As he takes the offered items, their fingers brush briefly, sending a spark through them both. With a quick, affectionate kiss, he gears up to leave, the morning's warmth lingering between them as he steps towards the door.
“Guess I needed those too,” he says. He steals another quick kiss, this one tinged with the promise of more. “Thanks, love. Where would I be without you?”
As Junho zips up his bag, his eyes inadvertently catch the framed photograph on the dresser. It’s an old picture from one of their first dates—a reminder of how far they’ve come. Yoona, following his gaze, walks over and picks it up. The memory brings a soft sigh from her lips.
“Remember this?” she asks, holding the frame out towards him.
The photo shows them at a beach, sand clinging to their clothes, wide grins under a sunset that had painted the sky in hues of orange and pink.
Junho nods, his eyes softening.
“How could I forget? You convinced me to go on the Ferris wheel despite my fear of heights.” He chuckles, a deep, resonant sound. “You always push me to try new things, to be brave.”
They share a look, a silent acknowledgment of their growth together, of the challenges faced and the triumphs celebrated. Yoona places the photo back and steps closer to Junho, straightening his collar with a tender touch.
“You’re going to be brilliant today,” she assures him, her voice firm with conviction. “You always are.”
Junho smiles, his confidence bolstered by her belief in him.
“With you by my side, how could I not be?”
He embraces her, his arms wrapping around her in a comforting hold that speaks of years of shared moments and mutual support.
“Break a leg, Junho,” Yoona calls out as he finally makes his way to the door.
Her voice is filled with a mixture of pride and a touch of melancholy—she always feels a twinge of separation anxiety when he leaves for a shoot.
He turns at the doorway, his smile broad and reassuring.
“I will. And I’ll be thinking of you the whole time,” he promises, his tone playful yet sincere, carrying the weight of their shared past and the unspoken promises of future joys and challenges.
As the door closes with a soft click, Yoona is left in the quiet of their shared space. She watches through the window as his car fades into the morning traffic. Touching her lips, she savors the lingering feel of his kiss, a bittersweet reminder of their brief morning together.
With a contented sigh, Yoona sets about her day, her thoughts occasionally drifting to Junho on set, imagining him in the spotlight, his talent unfolding scene by scene. Their apartment, now silent, seems to echo with the remnants of their laughter and whispers from the night before. It’s in these quiet moments that Yoona realizes how much of her heart goes with him, how intertwined their lives have become, each supporting the other’s dreams and aspirations.
The day stretches before her, filled with ordinary tasks that now seem a bit more meaningful. She knows that when evening comes, they'll share their experiences of the day, reconnecting and reaffirming the bond that has grown only stronger with each passing moment.
(Later in the day, Yoona's phone buzzes with a message from Junho.
"Hey babe... I left my script notes on the coffee table," he texts.
Yoona looks at the coffee table, sees the notebook, and can't help but laugh. She texts back, "Bringing it over. Lunch together?"
Junho replies with a quick, "Yes! See you soon ♡"
Shaking her head with a smile, Yoona grabs the notebook and heads out, amused and touched by Junho's forgetful charm. It seems like a perfect excuse for a surprise lunch together.)
