Summary:

A photo shoot with the boys.

Notes:

HI!
This is my first work in the Stray Kids fandom, and I've only been a fan since December of last year, so please keep that in mind when you read this! I am not from Korea, so if i get the honorifics wrong, I deeply apologize. I tried my best! The location of this is not set anywhere in particular, so please don't think too hard about it.

This is just for fun, so enjoy!

Work Text:

“Come, stand over here. Just wait, and look straight across from you. Just like that. Okay, stay there.” The photographer said, making her way across from him to his first kid, one of his best friends. Chans’ brows furrowed. What was she doing? The lights surrounding him were shut off, leaving them with only the dying sunlight streaking across the sky, and it was fading quickly.

She led Jisung to stand about fifty feet away, just far enough that he could hear their conversation.

“Okay, when I raise my arms towards you, I want you to call out to Bang Chan. Wait about ten seconds, then call for him to come over to you. Sound good?” she asked. Jisung nodded, but looked confused.

“Yeah, but why the wait?” he asked.

“Just trust me. The pictures that I have in mind are going to turn out amazing. I’ll show all of you when we’re done. After this, I’ll only have I.N left to shoot, then we’ll be done!” she said, doing her best to reassure him without giving anything away, then made her way back over to Chan, fiddling with the exposure on the camera as she went. The idea for these pictures she had in mind had hit so quickly, she knew they would be astounding if they ever got used for this upcoming promotion. She hoped they would. She smiled at Chan as she arrived back by his side.

“Okay, ready?’ she asked. Chan nodded, and she lifted her camera, taking a couple of test shots. She looked at them quickly, and smiled. They had the perfect amount of light shining on his face. Good. Then she lifted her arm up high enough for Jisung to see.

“Hyung!” Jisung yelled out, and Chans’ head immediately snapped towards him. He could faintly hear the camera shutter going off in rapid succession in the background, but his attention was almost completely on his first kid, and nothing else mattered, just like it always was whenever one of his kids called for him. He would do anything for them, and if that meant giving them all of his attention when they asked for it, well. That wasn’t hard for him to give.

“Come here!” Jisung yelled out again, opening his arms for a hug. Without giving it a second thought, he ran towards his Sungie, determined to give him the hug he asked for. He could never get enough hugs, especially when they came from his bandmates, his best friends. As soon as he was close enough, he swept his Sungie into his arms and held on tightly. He wasn’t going to let go until he was asked to.

Back by Chans original position, the photographer stood there, looking at some of the pictures she had managed to capture of Chan. They were mostly focused on his face, and to her, they were perfect without any tweaking. She let out a small cheer, which managed to draw the attention of the rest of the members who stood off to the side, watching Chan and Jisung. Seungmin came over first, his curiosity getting the best of him.

“What has got you cheering?” he asked, genuinely curious. None of them were really doing, just standing around and chatting. She showed him the camera in response to his question. It was a shot of Chans face, and it was breathtaking for Seungmin. The sunlight was a soft orange, enough to give everything a warm glow. It was streaked across his face, highlighting his eyes and smile. In the picture, he could see the emotions in Chans eyes. They were a warm brown, soft and full of adoration and love for the person he was looking at. His smile was dimply, more so than usual in pictures, which made it all the sweeter. Seungmin was stunned.

“Wow. I…. This picture is amazing! Hyungs! Innie! Come look at this!” Seungmin exclaimed, and the excitement in his voice lured the others over, except for Chan and Jisung, who were still hugging a bit away from the rest.

All of the other members crowded around them, and Seungmin showed off the picture of Chan. They were all just as stunned as Seungmin was. It showed off their leader perfectly, and it wasn’t fake. That was how he looked at them all the time, and this time, they wouldn’t mind if the world saw that look too. It was too wonderful to keep to themselves, no matter how much they normally wanted to. They marveled over it for quite a while. By now, the sun had set fully. Jisung and Chan came over to see what the boys were huddled around.

“Hi guys. What’s going on?” Chan asked, hoping that his kids weren’t disturbing the photographer while she was still working.

“Hyung! Sungie! Look at this picture!” Felix exclaimed, gently taking the camera from Minho’s hands and showing it to Jisung and Chan. Jisung saw what the others had, and loved the picture immediately. It was the best picture of his hyung he’d seen. Chan just thought it was a normal picture of himself, made pretty by the sunlight.

“Oh my gosh. We need a copy of this! We should ask manager hyung about getting one for us!” Jisung said excitedly, shaking Chans arm as he did.

“Why? It’s just a picture of my face, you see me all the time.” Chan said, and his kids looked at him, slightly confused, but mostly understanding. They were used to their hyung not seeing himself as they and Stays did. They were working on it slowly, but surely. Felix handed the camera back to the photographer, who walked back to the set up to get ready the last set up for the shoot. Since they didn't need as many lights for this one, it was fairly quick to set up.

When she looked over at the boys, she saw that they were still surrounding Chan in a group hug, loudly proclaiming their love for him and it didn’t look like they would be finished any time soon. So she kept looking through the shots of Chan, and found another one that looked amazing. It was a full body shot of the same picture that they were previously exclaiming over, and somehow it was even more picturesque. He was standing facing the woods, the red, yellow and orange leaves glowing in the soft sunlight. The waves on the beach were rolling softly in the picture, and his body was leaning forward slightly in anticipation, and somehow you could you still see the emotions in his eyes. It made a wonderful picture.

A couple days later, while working on the pictures from the entire shoot, the photographer was putting aside several picture of each member and a couple of group shots in a separate folder she thought they’d like. She was gonna send it in an email to their manger, which would very politely asked to forward to them.

After very carefully looking through each and every picture, their manager did send them the folder of pictures when they had an afternoon off to look through them. The boys were very happy about this, and did spend the afternoon looking through them. They saved all the pictures, but each member had their favourite set as the background on their phones.

Chans was a group shot of them standing in the ocean, shoes off and smiles on their faces. Minhos was a picture of Jisung trying to catch some of the leaves that were falling around him with his heart shaped smile in full view. Changbins was Hyunjin sitting underneath a willow tree, eyes closed and face tilted upwards. It was a peaceful picture. Hyunjins was Felix standing in the ocean, smile brighter than the sun was that day.

Jisungs was Minho, leaning up against the willow tree and laughing. Undoubtedly, Jisung had done something off screen to put such an expression on his face. Felix had the full body shot of Chan. Seungmin had a picture of Jeongin on the beach at night, holding a sparkler up in front of himself and smiling widely. Jeongin had Seungmin standing under an archway made of trees, surrounded by falling leaves.

But if there was one picture they could agree on that melted their hearts the most, it was a picture of Chan and Jisung hugging, both of them with their eyes closed and peaceful, content expressions on their faces.

And for seven of the members, well if they set their contact picture of Chan to the face shot with the emotions in his eyes, that was only for them to know.
