It wasn’t entirely true that he couldn’t hire a seventeen year old, though it was a good excuse to avoid a lot of begging and pleading from the applicant if he had told the truth: the handwriting on the application left no question that Langa simply was not suited to be an apprentice in Kaoru’s studio.
When Lange appeared at S, Kaoru was surprised…and then dismayed at what he first saw.
That dismay quickly lifted…and then turned to intrigue when he realized that Langa was clearly a high level snowboarder.
This could certainly make life more interesting.
