Gold flooring and walls surrounded the Umbrella Academy, Reginald, their friends from Hawkins, and Vecna. The Umbrellas stood on seven stars in the lobby and had particles disappearing from their heads to the ceiling. Vecna stood at a desk with a control panel containing the sigil and various scribblings. Two squares out of seven on the sigil were lit up after he moved them there.
“Did you really think I wouldn’t figure it out, Reginald? You were stupid to think I wouldn’t because I did, and when I did, I felt so much hope knowing your children would return. I knew that when they returned, I would bring them here one way or another. That’s why I killed John, to lure them here. You were stupid to think I wouldn’t try anything. Five was right, Reginald. You should’ve killed me, and because you didn’t, your children will die,” Vecna said.
“No, they won’t,” Reginald said.
Vecna scoffed.
“You can’t stop me,” Vecna said.
Vecna twisted his neck, effectively snapping Reginald’s neck and sending his lifeless body to the ground.
“None of you can stop me,” Vecna said.
Vecna used his free hand to push the Umbrellas’ friends back against the wall, which knocked them out. He went back to the task of moving the scribblings to squares on the sigil; whenever he did this, the Umbrellas would scream out in pain. Soon, a button lit up on the control panel. Vecna looked at it and realized his dream was one push away. He pushed the button, and everything went black.
A dinging sound rang throughout the Academy, and the Televator door opened. The six Hargreeves siblings, Lila, and their Hawkins pals stepped out. The group exited the elevator to assess the Academy. Everything looked normal and was in its place.
“What just happened?” Diego asked.
“From what I recall, we were dying in Hotel Oblivion, but now, we’re totally fine,” Klaus said.
The elevator dinged again, the crew assigned to go to the Upside Down stepped out.
"Guys," Steve said.
Everyone ran to one another, and the three Munson children ran out of the parlor and into the foyer.
“Oh, my God,” Dolores said, running to Five.
Five ran to Dolores. When they met, he put his hands on her cheeks, and she wrapped her arms around his back as they kissed. Janis looked at Eddie, worried he might walk over and hit Five. But he didn’t. Instead, he turned to Janis and shrugged.
“It is what is,” Eddie said.
Five and Dolores pulled away from the kiss.
“You’re okay,” Five said.
“Yeah. So are you,” Dolores said.
Now, Quentin was hugging Luther and noticed something.
"Luther, you look different," Quentin said.
"What?" Luther asked.
"Look at your arm," Quentin said.
Luther looked at his arm. It was lean and didn't have a crazy amount of hair on it anymore.
"Whoa," Luther said.
Luther looked down at his body.
"My body. I look amazing," Luther said.
"Hell yeah, you do, man. But how? Last time we saw you, you were still big," Topher said.
"I think Henry did it. I think the crazy bastard reset the universe," Five said.
"Well, so far, Luther's body is the only thing that's different, so Henry couldn't have done much damage," Dolores said.
"There is something else. Klaus's tattoo is gone," Nancy said.
Klaus looked down at his wrist and gasped.
"Oh my God, Nance. You're right," Klaus said.
"Everyone else, look at your wrists," Nancy said.
The rest of the Hargreeves who got the umbrella tattoo lifted their wrists.
"Mine's gone, too," Allison said.
"Yeah, same here," Five said.
As the Hargreeves checked their wrists, El checked hers.
"The eleven's not on my wrist anymore," El said.
The Hargreeves looked at El with wide eyes.
"All of our tattoos are missing," Diego said.
"This is so weird," Klaus said.
"Alright, you guys stay here. I'm gonna go out and see if anything else is different," Five said.
Five put his fists together and tried blinking. But he didn't disappear.
"Something's wrong," Five said.
"What? Are you too tired?" Eddie asked.
"No. If I was too tired, blue sparks would come out of my hands. But there's nothing, see?" Five asked, trying to blink again.
No blue sparks emerged from Five's fists.
"I can't blink at all," Five said.
"Let me try something," Diego said.
Diego grabbed one of his knives and twirled it in his hand before it slipped out and hit the ground.
"That's not good," Diego said.
Luther entered the parlor, put his hands under the couch, and prepared to pick it up. El held out her arm and extended her hand at a vase, ready to telekinetically lift it.
"Okay. Alakazam, ghosties," Klaus said, waving his left arm around, hoping to see ghosts.
He saw nothing; no matter how hard El tried, she couldn't lift the vase with her mind. El grunted in frustration and gave up. Luther tried lifting the couch but set it back down after a few seconds.
"Nope, I can't do it. This couch is too heavy," Luther said.
"I don't have my powers anymore, either. That means we all lost our powers," El said.
"So does this mean I'm mortal again? Aw man," Klaus said.
"I love how mortality is the only thing you're worried about and not the fact that Henry took our powers," Lila said.
"How do you get them back? There has to be a way, right?" Mike asked.
"I don't know, Mike," El said.
As everyone started talking over each other, Will felt a chill run up the back of his neck. He walked away from the group and looked out the window.
"Uhh, guys," Will said.
Everyone turned and saw Will at the window. Five walked to the window to see what Will was looking at, and his eyes widened.
"Shit," Five said.
Five thought of something and turned back to everyone.
"The roof. Let's go," Five said.
Five led the group up the flights of stairs to the roof. When he opened the door, Five stepped out onto the roof with everyone else following behind him. The roof had four benches in a circle, and the Umbrella Academy logo was in the middle. The cobblestone pathways led to different parts of the Academy and were separated by patches of grass with trees on them. One tree had pink flowers, while another had red leaves, or the flowers and leaves used to be those colors.
"Guys, look," El said, pointing at the trees.
The flowers and leaves were wilting and turning gray.
"They're dying. Henry's taking the life out of everything," Diego said.
The sky was full of dark, smoky clouds, and red lightning flashed with thunder following. Everyone's eyes widened, and their breaths quickened. Dolores separated herself from the group and walked to her right when something strange caught her eye.
*Guys, take a look at this," Dolores said.
Five, Lila, and Diego approached Dolores to see what she was looking at. Demobats swarmed a building in the near distance.
"What is that?" Diego asked.
"The hotel," Lila said.
"That must be where Henry is," Five said.
Five, Dolores, Lila, and Diego walked back to the group. Everyone was in their own little groups, and Dolores joined her family. Five, Diego, and Lila joined the rest of the Hargreeves, who were standing in front of the group. The Hargreeves stood in a line based on their numbers, and Lila stood at the end next to Viktor.
"Henry's taking over the world; we don't have our powers. What do we do?" El asked.
"We may not have our powers, but we must stop Henry. We're the only ones who can. This ends now," Five said.
Everyone had fear in their eyes, and the Hargreeves and Lila held hands as they took in the scene in front of them. The group knew Five was right. They were the only ones who knew about Henry, so if anyone could stop him, it was them.
