Chapter Text
Neon frowned a bit as beams of morning sunlight shined on her face from the window. She sat up in her bed and yawned softly, stretching out her arms, before noticing something shining on her ring finger, reflecting the light from the windows.
“Eh!?” Neon exclaimed softly as she held her hand to her face inspecting the golden band wrapped around her finger. She wracked her brain about trying to think of what happened last night before hearing a soft knock on the door. The door opened carefully as Neon turned to see who was entering her room.
Her shock and confusion seemed to double as Sakurai Keiwa peaked his head in through to door, noticing she was awake, his face lit up as he walked into the room holding a tray with breakfast. “You’re awake. That’s good, I was afraid I’d have to try and wake you up” Keiwa said warmly as he walked up and placed the tray of food on the bed next to Neon.
“Uh huh” was all Neon could muster as her brain screamed questions. Like how he got into her house? Why did he make her breakfast? Why was he behaving even more casually with her than usual? Why was he wearing an apron with a little Tanuki design on it?
Keiwa just laughed softly at the response, as if it was normal for her to not always respond properly. “I guess you’re still waking up. I’ve got another round of interviews, so I’ll be home before dinner. Good luck with today’s stream” Keiwa said as his hand brushed her bangs up and planted a soft kiss on her forehead, before turning to leave the room, as Neon’s brain completely bluescreened.
Once Keiwa had left the room and closed the door behind him, Neon grabbed the closest pillow and screamed into it. “Okay! That happened! And now I really want answers! This could be Ace pulling a trick on me, but even so Keiwa wouldn’t ever go along with this. Even if that was an actor how did they get into my house? The bodyguards and mom wouldn’t just let anyone in” Neon ranted to herself.
She looked around the room noticing that this wasn’t her room. There were a few things scattered about that she knew belonged to her along with a few things that she assumed belonged to Keiwa. She slapped her cheeks and began to focus, digging through her memories.
“It was the final voting session and we had to vote out the Desastar. And I won because I wasn’t voted out” Neon confirmed with herself, mostly not believing this as real.
Ace always won, and she voted for Ace. She was sure Keiwa voted for her. Did Ace vote for himself? No, he wouldn’t, he played to win. Even when he lost, he gained something from it. So, letting her win wouldn’t explain it.
As questions flooded her mind, her stomach growled loudly as if pulling her back to reality. “Right, foods getting cold” She said to herself, taking the tray of food and placing it onto her lap. Thanking Keiwa for the food even though he was already gone, she eat a few bites.
Before shoveling it in quickly as this was some of the best food she’s ever eaten, all those high-class meals with expensive ingredients could never compare to some good old home cooking with love. “Better to get ready for the day though” Neon said, as she got out of bed and exited the room.
Even though she never set foot in the house she found herself in, Neon seamlessly navigated herself to the kitchen with ease, placing the dirty dishes into the dishwasher and storing the tray where it belonged. “It’s weird having memories you don’t remember having” Neon said to herself and turning around to take a shower.
While showering Neon tried to gather more of her thoughts and sort through the fake memories. She recalled the desire grand prix of course, along with her desire that she wrote down. While living in bliss with her true love seemed innocent enough, she didn’t know that it’d have Keiwa play the role of her fiancé.
Neon’s face turned red just at the thought. She liked Keiwa, even started to form a bit of a crush on him when he regained his desire for world peace and sacrificed his normal life to enter the DGP again. But that doesn’t mean she wanted to brainwash him into becoming her fiancé.
“Mou, the worst part is we didn’t even go on a proper date at the very least” Neon pouted as she turned off her water and stepped out of the shower to dry herself off. She quickly got dressed before checking her notes to see what the stream topic of today was.
