"Akito, wake up."
Akito awoke to the sound of Ken calling his name and shaking his shoulder. Akito's eyes fluttered open and was met with Ken's face. Akito groaned, "Five more minutes."
Ken chuckled at that. "Sorry kid, usually I'd let you sleep a bit longer, but your sister called me."
"Ena?" Akito questioned out loud. The boy reached for his phone, but his phone had run out of battery. "Huh."
"I assumed she called me because your phone had died, either that or you just ignored her."
Akito rolled his eyes, "I'm not a bad brother Ken-san."
"I know, I know." he said with another chuckle, "Well, you better get going, I already drove you home since you're probably too tired to walk home."
It was only then did Akito take in his surroundings. He was in the backseat of Ken's car, and Ken's car was right outside his house. It was dark, probably past midnight. That gig took way longer than expected he guessed.
Akito said his goodbyes to Ken and walked into his house, bracing for the lecture he would be given by Ena. Instead, however, he was met by a panicked Ena awaiting on the couch.
"Akito! You dumbass!" Ena whisper-screamed. "Why didn't you respond to my calls?!"
Akito held up his dead phone. "My bad."
Ena flicked his head, "Yeah, your bad. Dumbass."
"Oi, what's with the attitude? So what I forgot to charge my phone, so what? Why do you care?"
"It's not just me who was worried. You really need to work on a better balance. You can't just fuck off to who knows where without telling the people you love."
Akito sighed, "Alright, I'm sorry. I'll do better."
Ena huffed, "It's not me who you should be apologizing to."
The boy gave her a questioning look, but she simply walked back to her room.
Akito followed and went to his own room. Surprisingly, the door was closed. He remembers he forgot to close his door because he was running late. He shrugged it off and quietly opened the door to not disturb the other residents of the house.
When he entered he saw someone with pale green hair lying on his bed facing away from the door.
Oh shit.
"Nene." Akito said softly, "Are you awake?"
The girl turned to look at where the voice came from and her eyes met Akito's.
The boy made his way over to his bed, "Uh, Nene, look, I'm sorry for-" before Akito could finish his sentence, he was dragged onto his bed by Nene.
"You're stupid." she mumbled.
He sighed, "I know. Sorry, I was just so focused on tonight's gig."
"I figured." I just wish you had more time for me , went unsaid.
Her reply made Akito's heart hurt. "Hey, Nene." he said before softly kissing the top of her head, "I can make it up to you tonight."
She briefly let go of Akito to let him sit up. "How?" she asked.
"However you want, it's the least I can do." he said awkwardly.
"Kiss me."
Akito reddened at first but quickly fulfilled her request, and placed a quick kiss on her lips. As he started to pull back, Nene pulled him back in by his jacket. She wasn't one to do this, but he figured it had been a while since they've had time alone, so he continued to kiss her back.
After about 30 seconds or so, Nene pulled back, but immediately dove right back in. Akito, unprepared, was slow to respond to her kiss. Her hands moved from his jacket to his hair, lazily combing her fingers through it. The boy internally melted at the gesture. However, as much as he was enjoying the moment, he was rapidly losing his breath, so he opened his mouth to breathe. To his surprise, Nene's tongue accidentally (or maybe intentionally, he doesn't know) slipped into his mouth.
Akito let out a foreign noise and quickly pushed Nene away. He covered his face with his arm in embarrassment, wiping away any saliva on his lips. Nene reacted similarly, covering her face with her arm and red spreading across her face. The two sat in silence for a second until the girl spoke up. "I-I'm sorry Akito, I don't know what I was doing, and I'm sorry we can stop, and just forget this ever happened and-"
"I don't mind if you try again." Akito whispered.
"H-Huh?!" she replied.
"I mean, I didn't say I disliked it." He mumbled more nervously than before.
Nene looked back to Akito, "Are you sure?"
The boy looked up and nodded, his face extremely red.
Cautiously, Nene leaned toward him and brought down his arm. His lips were slightly parted, and his eyes looked away from hers. She continued, bringing her hands back to his hair, and pressing her lips to his. With his mouth still open, she slipped her tongue inside.
It was foreign territory for the both of them. Sure they've kissed before but never like this. The two both had zero relationship experience, so this was certainly uncharted territory. Granted, it was awkward, their tongues meeting in an unfamiliar manner, but they were still left breathless, and they wanted more.
Akito's arms wrapped around Nene's lower back to pull her closer. It was intoxicating to say the least. The two separated for a second until the green-haired dove right in again, almost in a literal sense as she knocked down Akito onto his back. The boy didn't mind at all, reconnecting his lips with hers. Nene was now positioned over him with her hands beside his head. It was straining to stay in that position, but it was worth it when she pulled away again and saw Akito. His lips and cheeks were red, and his hair was sprawled across his pillows.
That's why she loved Akito. He always had so many sides to himself. The one that was passionate for music, the one that loved sweets, and the one that was reserved just for her in these moments. She didn't care, she loved them all (except his "nice guy" persona. It grosses her out).
She went back in for another kiss, but was blocked by the boy's hand. "C-Could we slow down a bit." he mumbled.
Swiftly, Nene got off of him and replied, "Sorry, y-yeah."
Akito sat up and brought the girl into an embrace. Nene responded by softy kissing his neck. "Let's do that again sometime." the boy drowsy. The gig that happened not too long ago, and lack of sleep finally caught up to him.
The girl nodded in agreement, "I hope there's lots of more times."
The two had come to terms with it long ago. Realistically, they couldn't stay together forever, for their passions simply got in the way. It hurt, but they knew it was true. Music was their one true love, but was it possible to have room for each other in their hearts?
"Akito, how much longer do you think we can stay like this?"
Forever he wanted to say, but he knew it was a lie. "I don't know. Let's just stay like this for now, okay?"
"I like the sound of that." she said, "I love you."
"I love you."
With that the two drifted off to sleep, hoping to love each other once more.
