“I’ve got it!” Hazel held up the earring triumphantly, the pearl gleaming in their torchlight.
“Where was it?” asked Lavinia, holding out a cloth to disinfect it with.
“Just in the cobbles. I sensed it,” she shrugged. “It must have fallen out when you were here last.”
“Yesterday,” she said. “Poison Oak and I were… getting hot chocolate.”
“Mhm,” she raised an eyebrow. “As long as you weren’t supposed to be on duty.”
Lavinia groaned, “I miss the days when you used to cover for me, and-”
“Walls have ears,” she reminded her quickly. “It was fun doing that though.”
