“What kind of dance do you do?” Lavinia asked, sharpening the imperial gold sickle she’d taken from her belt.

“Ballet,” she said, stretching her leg along the branch as if it were a bar. “But my step- Nero had me learn a lot of martial arts too.”

“That’s cool,” she said, sounding a little wistful. “All I do is… grow plants, but if you know what’s poisonous, you can do… some damage, I guess? I once grew a massive venus flytrap for the War Games though. It ate Calum from the Second Cohort.”

Meg laughed, “I wish I’d seen that.”
